  • Satellites play an increasingly important role in our everyday life. Coping with today's data flows would be impossible without the helpers in orbit, they ensure that people are provided with more and more information. Thanks to sensor and camera technology, radar beams and optical measuring methods, satellites now convey an all-encompassing picture of the earth. Around 200 years after Alexander von Humboldt's voyages of discovery, radar satellites and drones took over the job of researchers and discoverers.

Pretty much the entire documentary is in German, even though it's being advertised as English. Got irritating after a point cause it isn't even dubbed, subtitles are really small.
Unless you want to stare at small subtitles for 45 minutes, don't watch this.

Maybe you should do one of these on the solar minimum and how that has been integrated into the geoengineering process?

I sure hope this is an honest broadcast and not some bunch of sugar coated BS, like all this is "good"...it isn't...All the "grey" areas in our laws go out the window when it's a satellite...so much we will never know, and so much we are being lied to about this process.

GIS is my major and I am senior. I can assure you as far as I know, it's fine. I live in the US and we actually share constellations with Russia (and a few other countries) for GPS and have for years. There seems to be a mutual understanding, and most of the work I've seen done it for urban development, disaster prevention, maybe analyzing if a business would work well at a certain location, disease spread analysis.... The applications are endless. Nefarious intent could be potential, but I personally haven't witnessed it.

Platooning is a absolutely stupid idea, if one of the vehicles suffers a severe mechanical fault or blowout you are looking at a pileup. Also, what happens if the system hits an un thought or discovered software bug or gets hacked? i will never EVER put my life in the hands of a computer.

At some point too much is too much. Too much data, too much screen time we are becoming less and less human as time goes on. Used to have brave explorers now they sip lattes and chat behind a computer in a climate controlled room.

When 90% of doc is spoken German with poor subtitles it's a pointless doc for English speaking people . If I wanted to read about it I would read a book . 13 mins in I gave up . Great subject Very poor execution.
