My top moments on this one were the departure of the N700 EMU at 3,20, where it looks so aggressive and sharp on the curve and the meeting of the other N700 with the 700 EMU in the curve, at 4,20...the atmosphere is magical as the bright LED lights of N700 trains pass under great speed from the station.
Hmm, my camera and style didn't change. I can't feel major change by myself. Of course, I didn't use tripod according to my policy. How the edge figure of shinkansen train looks like changes along with camera angle, let's compare with 0:46, 1:14 and 3:20. It's so wondering. To secure safety, it is difficult to take close to passing them at the edge of platform, but thanks to metal mesh I could to shoot nice night passage like 4:20 at the station.
omiyaexpress The 60p quality is definitely a change, so are the techniques you are using now, zoomless action, for example. More shooting angles is something good too, as you mentioned. What i like most about the newest Shinkansen generations is that trains, in favor of aerodynamics, include many curves in their design, so they look like modern sculptures in the front.
The quality of these videos is always first class. It really is just like you're there. Great views coming out of the dark. That curve gives a very nice view.
100 series had already retired from the Tokaido Shinkansen in 2004 and the San-yo Shinkansen in 2012. 700 series will be retired from the Tokaido Shinkansen in 2019 or early 2020 but still run on the San-yo Shinkansen after 2020.
How do you know the number for the train (Nozomi OOO) for example when the train passes? Is there a schedule you look at or is it the same numbers every day at the same time?
antieye555 JR doesn't make public passage time of Shinkansen at each station. So I estimate pertinent train from arrival times at former and next station, distance and average speed by inquiring timetable book.
500 Series have already retired on 28th February, 2010 from the Tokaido Shinkansen. Shortened (8 cars from 16 cars) 500 Series run only on the San-yo Shinkansen now.

熱海駅って東海道新幹線で唯一通過放送のある駅ですよね
鉄道ネットワークさん 待避線が無く、ホームに面した線路を日常的に列車が通過する唯一の駅ですので、現在ではそうなりますね。以前、通過列車があった品川や新横浜でも聞けました。回送や臨時列車が通過することがあれば、もしかしたらまだ聞けるかもしれません。

通過速度としては低速ですので、なんとかコンパクトデジカメでも追いつくことができます。速さを実感するには物足りないですけど、近くで通過を体験できるのが熱海駅のいいところですね。

N700系の行先表示って走行中でも点きっぱなしなんですね。何キロ以上になれば消えるのかと思ってました。
あれ、通過列車ではLED表示消えていませんか?
確かにのぞみ240号(0:32~)やのぞみ36号(1:01~)は消えていますね!のぞみの黄色が全く見えませんもんね。
でも、のぞみ176号(4:16~)は点きっぱなしで通過していってますね。なぜ点灯したままと消えてるのがあるんでしょうか?
車両による違い?あるいは車掌の設定上の違いとかなのでしょうかね。
LED行先表示は一定速度まで加速/減速すると(具体的な数字は出てきませんでした)で消灯/点灯するように普通はなっています。動画説明にあるとおり熱海駅は急カーブ上にあるので、駅前後で急減速操作をして「停車」と車両が勘違いしたり、点灯ラインの速度まで落として通過をすれば、行先が点灯した状態になってしまう可能性はあります。車両の差や、乗務員の設定の差ではおそらく無いと思われます。

確かに熱海駅は曲線なのでスピードはあまり速いではないですね。
185km/h制限ですので、普段の速さに慣れてしまうと遅く感じますね。
