  • The Mandan Chief Ma-to-toh-pe (Four Bears) was given his name after the battle in which he charged his enemy with the strength of four bears. He was a brave and courageous man and a distinguished war leader. His generosity and fearlessness in battle gained him the respect of the Mandan people who honor his memory to this day. He was immortalized by artists to live on forever as a great part of North Dakota history.

Why are they being portrayed as brownish-red? Mandan were white with red or blonde hair and blue or green eyes.

When the spirit speaks, it does not strut nor shout out to proclaim itself, neither can one seek such eternal truths and wisdom through the many books of various modern courses, no matter how high they 'apparently' are, for this is merely a proficiency in learnedness, that akin to all earthly riches, is transient and one day turns to ashes and dust. The spirit though is in itself eternal, and if we so wish it, we can aspire and intuit the unending truths and wisdom that the Great Spirit proffers through His many helpers, who seek to bestow upon us the peace and wisdom that is ours by right, if we live by His laws, not those of the many false prophets, whose apparent precious gems are nothing but cheap tinsel, that will soon fall unto dust forever. For if something is without spiritual values, it is as dead, without life. Hence why the white man's values of the old days have been passed on, like a plague, for people today prefer an easy, comfortable and pleasurable life, to one of virtue and piety. However, according to the law of sow and reap, the karmic reactions will remove those devoid of a good heart, and thus, all propehcies of the tribes will be fulfilled. Amen !
