Same can be said for a lot of 3D Sonic games. As kids we only focused on the gameplay, but as adults looking back we see we took for granted just how incredible the OST was for the time, and even now.

This isn’t fully correct. The segment at 1:36 is slightly different from the 0:32 segment and the 2:24 segment. The 1:36 segment does not have the guitar riff in the background. This slightly quieter segment plays in the mansions passages while the other variety plays when you flip the dimensional switches in the level.

One of my many favorites from the Heroes soundtrack. I loved the setting and the idle talk each character did, especially Espio's where he mentions that he once trained in a ninja academy or something similar to the Mystic Mansion. The last part before touching the goal ring was so unexpected. The whole view of a grassland with windmills and clear blue skies was just sublime. Sometimes I would just stand there and enjoy the view ^^ Great memories, amazing game!
Crash Twinsanity had a pretty unique soundtrack since it was done by an A Cappella band called Spiralmouth, if you don't know what A Cappella is, it means the music you hear used no instruments, that every sound was done by people's mouths, and when you hear the track Rooftop Rumble, you have trouble believing that when it sounds like heavy guitar
I don't know how the game take care of the switching in between sections, but I think there actually are multiple separated audio files on single bigger file and they set pointers on the level to say when to stop looping and when to start playing the next track, every single track seems to connect to each other pretty well so I think they just tell to stop looping and when a version ends they play the other, it's still crazy to think the devs made 8 tracks of 16 secs to play in different sections of the stage
Best song in the whole game, it has a great energy despite having a spooky twinge to it. Plus those bells and that bridge keeps this song in your head.

It has some pretty major peaks, but some of the lows are REALLY low, especially with some of the more janky sections

I wouldn't call it bad, but it's a huge letdown after sa1 and sa2.
It was these clunky broken controls for me (especially moving sonic was way too fast and that's how he end up falling off the platforms)
It's mainly the special stages that make me not like the game quite as much as say, the Adventure games. Heroes is still mostly a fun time though.
