This world did not do justice to the talent of Pancham Da. All those who have not heard Bengali Songs of Pancham Da can never Imagine that Pancham Da did not give us this great gift of his voice. I donot understand even a word of Bengali but I listen to Pancham Da Bengali songs on very Regular basis. Making small videos on rhe same.
Nature has a knack of rewarding a talent in her own ways. See more n more people are listening his song. Thats the testimony of rewards n recognition❤
So many of his juniors who consider the maestro as topmost guru have received national award multiple times, many singers, lyricists have received national award in works collaborated with him, he lives in the heart of millions --- yet why our nation has not awarded him ? Is it not the time to do justice ?

Did you ever heard of film "citizen Kane"the best film ever made critics still rate it as the best film ever made in 1941 but got no Oscar that year how green was my velly took best film Oscar,what I mean that ,not necessary the best will win always.
RD was a rebel of sorts, because he challenged the convention, the stereotypes and successfully implemented a new trend in Indian Music which saw the fusion of Indian and Global music with texture of western style yet so Indian at the core, new rhythm patterns in orchestration, creating sounds from virtually anything, use of music instruments in non conventional way to sound different and last but not the least bringing new techniques in recording with old vintage equipments, tracks etc. RD was not a name of a music composer, but it was and still is, a idea, a gharana of music, hitherto unknown, unheard of. For example, the way he composed some songs in Hindi films, like Amar Prem, Mehbooba, Kinara, Parichay etc, by blending two or more Ragas, where the Anthara just jumps into a different raga with use of a single stroke of Sitar or Sarod or other string equipments which caught even the greats of Indian Classical music by surprise. No ordinary composer could not have done this. This style of music of his could not be fathomed by the musical Pandits of that time because decoding RD's music was something beyond the capacity of that generation.
But with passage of times, his music is continuously being decoded by the current generation musicians and we are getting to know what he has left behind to explore, exploit and enjoy by the generations present and generations to come.
That's why not much of reward and recognition came in his way because Indian music world could not understand what he was doing.
But as they say, mediocrity fades away, but excellence never does, so RD is becoming almost a cult figure with each passing day.
It’s not awards - off late paid, managed and nepotism driven - that’s the recognition of a true genius/ super talent.
It’s time that’s the actual and only yardstick. There RD is light years ahead of the contemporary rest.
Generations after generations will rediscover RD… that’s his original award. 🙏🏼

Just show me any other music director apart from RAHUL DEV BURMAN who made his presence in this four point mentioned below.
1. Kishore Kumar who was not a trained classical singer with him he recorded "mere Naina sawan bhado" based on raag shivranjani,then " jane Kya soch kar nahi gujra", don't forget that time it was single take not like today that you can sing a single word.
2. Made song in each & every possible way in music possible.
3. Out side musical instruments produce music with cold drink bottle,polish paper and other thing
4. Introduce many musical instruments in our music likes flenzer,paddle matka.
I challenge just show me another music director that's include regional music director who matched all this 4 points I will agree pancham is not unique,but with prove please.🙏
