Sanrio Puroland had several names before it officially opened. That's what you posted, but the lesser known name was "Tama Sanrio Communication World" (T.S.C.W). The name was later popularized as the name of the operating company of Sanrio Puroland.

I also think that there is a mutual difference between how we Japanese understand Sanrio Puroland, a domestic theme park, including its history, and how you understand it as a foreigner.
