    I'll never forget the feeling of seeing Kaetlyn deliver her second almost-perfect free skate back-to-back, and then watching the next five skaters all fall behind her.
    Also note that at 1:36:26 when they cut back to the top three waiting area, Wakaba has vanished, presumably having realized after Zagitova bombed that she was going to be on the podium after all and needed to go put her costume back on.

  • @DamirNa
    @DamirNa 4 года назад +6

    if Alina had not fallen from one jump, she would surely have become the second without difficulty; and if she failed only one jump, she would become a champion! For comparison: Alina has 239.57 in Pyeongchang, and Osmond has only 223. But the xenophobic Russian authorities, knowing about the future World Cup, did everything so that she did not repeat the successes of the Olympics and other previous championships!
    если бы Алина не упала с одного прыжка, она наверняка стала бы вторым без труда; и если бы сорвала только один прыжок, она стала бы чемпионкой! Для сравнения: у Алины в Пхенчхане 239,57, а у Осмонда - только 223. Но ксенофобские российские власти, зная о будущем чемпионате мира, сделали все, чтобы она не повторила успехов Олимпиады и других предыдущих чемпионатов!

    • @erinm9568
      @erinm9568 3 года назад +4

      Are you saying she was told to "mess up" purposefully"? And to be honest, Medvedeva had the gold medal stolen from her. The only way Zagitova beat her was by backloading her program and getting the 10% bonuses. She is and was a lovely girl, but her skating just lacked finesse and artistry.

    • @DamirNa
      @DamirNa 3 года назад

      @@erinm9568 are you talking about the Olympics?
      To "steal" something, at first it must be, but it was not! logical ?! All specialists not connected with Zagitova's coaches said that Medvedeva did not have the strength to make jumps in the second half: she was already exhausted in the third minute. And Tutberidze later admitted that Zagitova was dragging EM: thanks to Alina, EM performed well in Pyeongchang. and the trainers were worried about EM and not Alina, as she was very strong, able to make a cascade of five jumps, which she showed in training! ruclips.net/video/BSyFs3fefRs/видео.html
      Zhenya Medvedeva was not able to learn and will perform the same programs that Zagitova put on, because Alina has an innate ability for ballet! coaches told about this that they first tried with EM and others.
      And after the Olympiad, they wrote that “the wrong Russian woman won,” based on the responses of Russians by nation, but not the indigenous Tatars.
      here:
      Wrong Russian won the gold medal in women's figure skating at 2018 Winter Olympics
      www.usatoday.com/story/sports/columnist/brennan/2018/02/23/wrong-russian-won-gold-medal-womens-figure-skating-2018-winter-olympics/366111002/
      For example: "The most offensive is gold because the wrong one! ......."
      And this is still the most innocuous statement.
      And in this I see that the main reason for Alina Zagitova's failure in the World Cup in Milan is that she was subjected to a psychological attack ...
      And so in the Russian media they tried not to speak, not to write exactly who won the only gold medal of the Olympics from Russia, until EM left for Canada to a new coach.
      .... The so-called "Russia" is an empire of different peoples and countries conquered by Moscow. Moscow is waging a round-the-clock ideological war, primarily within this empire. They (Putin and others) sometimes openly declare about this that "only in this way and through repression, it is possible to preserve this empire." And this is reflected in sports, for the Kremlin the nationality of the athlete is of primary importance and, secondly, the religious affiliation of the one who will take the medal.
      Now the same story of Alina Zagitova is unfolding in relation to another Tatar figure skater - Kamila Valieva.

    1:35:24 Stupid, stupid girl and pathetic team. What were they thinking putting all those jumps so late in the program? Just who did they think they were impressing? To do such an arrangement puts pressure on the skater, but it also interrupts the flow and impression of the program, which must translate to: deduction. It becomes no different than a jumps-only program in the 6.0 system. How this was even allowed by the ISU or even not penalized is beyond belief! Even if she pulls it off like at Olympics, it ruins the impression and must be a deduction for making the last part of the program a jumping program. Sloppy. Not even your dress will save you. I hope she and her team learned from this, as well as all skaters and coaches too. Meanwhile, too bad for Kostner, that is where the CoP system will hurt you, but 6.0 would have helped her. Great comeback though. Congratulations to Osmond, a true example of complete skating.

      Well remember back then you got a 10 percent bonus so Zagitoa tried to put all her jumping passes in the second half to get the bonus - it created an uneven program but it didn't seem to affect her pcs. Yes the 6.0 system did prefer balanced skating and jumping beans could be penalized for lack of artistry/skating skills. It would have been hard to keep skaters like Elvis Stojko, surya Bonaly if her jumps were fully rotated and midori ito from winning more with the new system. It also was a way to hold up top level skaters who had an off day

      This was the price of her victory in Pyeongchang. The stupid ones were the coaches and the choreographer. They decided on a backloaded program so that Alina can have a fighting chance against teammate the great Evgenia Medvedeva. But who would have expect that in spite of a backloaded program, she can still score high on the PCS. What a joke! Alina's PCS should have been nowhere near 75! Zhenya got 77 on her PCS! Such ridiculous judges! Alina's PCS can only amount to 69 to 71 but not 75!
