my feelings exactly. in fact i think if you gave her a tennis racket, a few months of lessons, boom. She could also be an outside hitter in volleyball, her vertical leap is insane, it all comes down to a person who is "in her body'. That amazing combination of knowing where your body is in time and space, ridiculous hand-eye coordination, the ability to learn through practice, the discipline to practice, and then of course practice practice practice.
@@lisafan6365 I found this in the volunteer section of the Annika website. “TELEVISION Assist The Golf Channel staff in production of telecast…” I also found Golf Channel on RUclips. I hope it’s the same, just left them a question on their latest video. 🤞🏽
Not quite. Babe won 2 gold medals and a silver in track and field at the 1932 Olympics to go along with being one of the all-time greats in Women's golf. In other words, she was elite at golf and track and field. CC is an elite basketball player, and barring injury a good bet to be considered at a minimum one of the greats. She appears to be a generational basketball talent. As a golfer, CC caries a 10 handicap. She typically shoots in the low to mid 80s on courses that are not set up to difficulty a course that is holding a professional tournament is set to. If she played a professional golfer on the LPGA tour, Clark would get 15 -20 strokes.
@@ciciusss OP also mentioned soccer, which unfortunately overlapped too much with basketball, but there's little doubt that she would've excelled probably into the pros if she could've, based on her trajectory. As a high school freshman, she was named 1st team all-state (the only freshman; 8 of the 11 were seniors), in spite of only being able to play in 6 games, due to basketball, and she scored an absolutely absurd 26 goals in those games! She started soccer at age 5, the same time as basketball, and was known as always being the best player on the field up through freshman year of high school, her last time playing soccer. This includes playing on some co-ed teams growing up, same with basketball, and some folks there say that she was arguably better at soccer than basketball.
Golf is such a fun game. It's the greens that are tricky, because the ball can break within the last foot. And, it's not level as the eye might think. Watching other putters helps a little bit. But, the greens can be difficult to read
She is having fun, that's all. She probably has other sports that she plays too. She is a all around athlete who just happens to be an elite great BB player.
Doubtful. I'm A fan of CC. But, she currently carries a 10 handicap. In other words, Clark typically shoots in the low to mid 80s. By comparison, the top Women's amateur in the world, Lottie Woad, who plays at FSU has a +6.5 handicap. If Clark played Woad 1v1 Woad would give Clark 17 shots. Basically, a shot a hole. The very elite LPGA golfers, Korda, Vu, Hull, Ko, Thompson, etc are at another level from Woad, although Woad is a decent bet to eventually reach that level. Clark would have to commit full-time to golf to even try to reach the level of a professional golfer and the odds still would greatly be against CC. The odds would be against her being even an elite amateur with that commitment. I do think, like Michael Jordan, with a lot of time and seeking out great instruction, Clark could be a scratch golfer. That is a more reasonable, but still difficult goal.
ReviewBoard, I'm a fan of CC, she is a terrific athlete. But, one of the best golfers in the World when she retires from basketball? Most likely not. Clark currently plays to a 10 handicap. She shoots in the low to mid 80s. Lottie Woad from England and who currently plays at Florida State is the number 1 Women's amateur in the world. She has a handicap of +6.5. In other words, if Woad played Clark, she would give Clark 17 shots. Basically one shot a hole. Top flight pros like Nelly Korda, Lillian Vu, Charley Hull and Lydia Ko are at another level. For Clark to even entertain trying to reach that level she would have to fully commit to golf with no guarantee she would ever reach the level of a top flight amateur. Michael Jordan is an elite athlete, a legendary basketball player who seeked out the best golf instructors and played a lot of golf in his spare time. He was nearly a scratch golfer. Every once in awhile you would hear that he beat PGA greats like Freddy Couples or Davis Love. Then you get the rest of the story that these PGA Pros were giving Jordan 10 shots. Rickle Fowler talked about that in a Podcast that every so often, Jordan would shoot a 71 or 72 which meant he would have to shoot a 60 or 61 to beat Jordan, A difficult proposition even for a top PGA pro like Fowler. Anyway, Clark will be paired with Korda for 9 holes in the Pro-Am. No mention of the Pro who will play the other 9 holes with Clark and the other amateurs in that group. Should be a lot of fun for all involved.
To receive a Sponsors exemption as an amateur, the PGA and LPGA tours require a minimum 0 handicap or better. That's why you don't see high profile athletes in other sports, actors, etc receive Sponsors exemptions to play in the actual tournament. You have to be really good. Typically exemptions go to pros or elite amateurs. That's why you will see CC in Pro-Ams. She is not good enough to receive a sponsors exemption to play in the actual tournament.
Learn golf from the green "back""to the tee ! Get good at the short game first! If you can putt you can play with anybody using handicap system! Always putt them out. Be automatic from 1-2-3-4-5-6 feet. Make 100 straight 3 footers everytime you practise. 6-footers should be like free throws - at least 90%
I think so. There were rumors some time ago that she might play in Europe, but they seem to be just that, rumors. If she were playing in Europe she would be there by now. Today she was at a reunion of her college team at Iowa, and she has been playing golf as a break from basketball.
I’ll tell you what, there just isn’t a whole lot wrong with that golf swing. She’d be a scratch player in no time if it wasn’t for that that silly game of basketball getting in the way… 🤪

GOAT??? Of what exactly? She may possess the potential to be in the conversation 10 years from now but saying that now is laughable.
@steveg5591 you serious? She's the greatest college bball player in history and will be in the pros as well. As for golf I don't know about that. 😆
Will this be streaming?

Stay on the left side don’t sway on those little chips. It’s just arms and hands. There’s no movement in the lower body.

Scary how talented she is. Stick with good coach and who knows?? The golf swing takes so much time and work to perfect. Stay with it!!
She’s an athlete! She’s got this!
After winning her Olympic athletics medals, Babe Didrikson played pro basketball, before taking up golf and being one of the founders of the LPGA.
That's so cool
This tournament should be televised on Eurosport
