The rule of numbers only works if you actually stand in the ravine not in front of it, you have to force your opponent to funnel into your lines, they actually could have made a really intersting piece of art from it by drawing the battles like the drawings on greek vasses
If you watch the show from the beginning it is mentioned within the first 4 episodes. The archaeologist dogs, whom he saves, do a carbon dating using a smell device. The machine picks up that he is from the time of 25 BA, or 25yrs before Aku. Basically, the time from when before Aku took over the whole of Earth and a good portion of the galaxy was 25yrs. Amazing what he was able to do. So the answer is he was flung into the future 25yrs. And before you ask 'how could he develop a world so technologically advanced in such a short time?', remember a lesson from history. Japan, after over 250yrs in total isolation, was opened to the world by America. Japan made it their goal to modernize and make themselves powerful, which they did. Achieving almost 300 years of technological advancement in around 27 years. And considering that Aku is a magical being with access to planets across the galaxy it wouldn't be weird to consider the speed of which he was able to advance everything.
@@Kage342 Actually, I really doubt it was just 25 years into the future. Sure, the dogs said that Jack is from 25 years Before Aku took over the world, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it was 25 years only. You can say that it was AT LEAST 25 years into the future, but as other episodes show, it actually was much more than that. For example, that episode where Jack met his monk friend who was still a child when they first met in the past, but now is a really old man with full knowledge of the entire world. And even the dogs, they are researching for their ancestors because they no longer know their old generations(the "normal" dogs), so I would say that Jack went at most 400 years into the future, and 200 years at least.

hmm if this cartoons anything like eh the genre in movies hmmm there a theme they show all kinds of warriors even the 70's themed n black samurai mm hmm but spartans golly
Because of how Greeks fight and the terrain. These warriors are based off the Greek Spartans, and Spartan Hoplites fight in what is called the phalanx. It is made up of rows of tightly packed heavy infantry that can block and hold a position while being able to move in just one direction, forward. The phalanx is a very strong and tough defense to break, but it is very vulnerable to flanking attacks and attacks from the rear. Their numbers are small and they are using the terrain as a bottleneck in order to funnel the robots into a killing field where their numbers count for nothing. Moving their soldiers out of that bottleneck into more open terrain exposes them up to a counterattack in which the robots can encircle them and crush them. It is easier to let them go because they cannot abandon their position or break ranks in order simply to grab husks. It wouldn't matter anyway because even those who aren't repaired are simply replaced by new ones. They don't just take back their broken comrades so they can be salvaged because not all of them can be after a ferocious battle that leaves many of them inoperable; some will have to be replaced. Something they do by simply making new ones on an assembly (something I assume since they are all made to look and act the same). So, to sum up, they cannot leave their positions because even as the robots retreat their numbers are still substantial to attack. Moving from their defensive position into more open terrain leaves them vulnerable to such an attack. And keeping said husks would amount to little because even those not taken back can simply be replaced once more. I hope this answers your hypothetical query.
@@Kage342 the yearly replies though lol I am aware of the referencing and inspiration of the Spartans in samurai jack and is very "subtle" about the numbers being a dead giveaway but even then the robots have been given simple commands, and the more the factory replaces missing husks or materials rather the slightly longer time it takes to make enough numbers for another assault, now if they have been doing so for a very long time the spartans could of at least earned a slight amount of respite between attacks. As for the machines for figuring out any weaknesses and to exploit it for as long as the war has been going on their formation they could have done so already, but seeing as it didn't seems like the machines only follow a simple tactic for the longest time, attack then withdraw when a certain amount of losses has been reached. So far the Machines have barely gotten any negatives not that it matters even if the Spartans did try to prevent them from salvaging their own, as for the Spartans here they have only been on the defensive with sustaining losses. TL;DR machines are only following simple commands and have no superior giving them specific commands to overcome their current objective, only to keep the same pressure. Spartans held their ground for years but has not taken any measures to improve on their defense not limited to lessening the enemies recovered fallen bodies. This has went on for years, yes sieges lasts months or even a year But yeah wasn't questioning 5 years ago its more like, "I would have done it this way" kind of comment

this is more of a 300 spartans +terminator plot
Very neat nod to 300 really.
This history is conectet to season 5😃
Sabaton intensifies
Many, Many years ago. When Persia came ashore. Heeding Leonidas call, the Spartans went to war.
I thought he didn't talk?
Im just like why not have some of your soldiers pick up the dead husks or something xD you just let em take them back
Because of how Greeks fight and the terrain.
I hope this answers your hypothetical query.

the yearly replies though lol
I am aware of the referencing and inspiration of the Spartans in samurai jack and is very "subtle" about the numbers being a dead giveaway
but even then the robots have been given simple commands, and the more the factory replaces missing husks or materials rather the slightly longer time it takes to make enough numbers for another assault, now if they have been doing so for a very long time the spartans could of at least earned a slight amount of respite between attacks.
This has went on for years, yes sieges lasts months or even a year
But yeah wasn't questioning 5 years ago its more like, "I would have done it this way" kind of comment
Gotta make the comments 300
