  • Trying something a bit different. Here's my list of all the Oasis albums ranked from my least favourite to my favourite album. What a band, what a journey!
The link to Noel signing my copy of Definitely Maybe from May 2018 when I saw him at Leeds First Direct Arena is here:

Loved the run up to the big 1995 chart battle, Blur and Oasis two of my favourite albums. I remember being in the 6th form and my mate would bring in each new CD single released in the run up wrapped in tissue paper because they were so precious. Went to see Oasis at Knebworth, had John Squire come on, which was an amazing touch. Though I personally now prefer Blur I don't think county house was one of their better songs, the cover of the CD single I remember vividly with its pink hue. Oh to be young. :) Like the new mix of videos. Good to have a mix of stuff.

Funny, that my situation with getting into oasis was similar, I got into
Them in about 2004 .. ever since then iv probably listened to them everyday since. I didn’t ever get a chance to see them for years passing … and I actually got to see them in 2009 at heaton park for the first ever time … and a few months later they broke up … so as you I was also very very lucky. My rankings as changed with age, my favourite was of course definitely maybe and morning glory. But as iv
Got older iv gotta say I do prefer the earlier 2000s tackle. And standing on the shoulders of
Giants is actually my favourite. Heathen chemistry is my 2nd favourite… just can’t beat gas panic ! It’s unreal and especially live. Anyway sorry to rabble on! Good video mate ! 🤙🏻

I cant believe that ''lets all make believe'' didn't make it onto SOTSOG. it would have strengthened it immensely. ''gas panic'' ''lets all make believe'' ''roll it over'' ''Sunday morning call'' are all tracks that make you dive deep into your thoughts. A massive change in direction from be here now but still an album I listen to regularly

Hey dude. Great Oasis covers. I was born 1981, saw them live 2nd night of Knebworth 1996, then 2nd night of Wembley 2000. Knebworth was astonishing. Wembley was confusing.

11:37 Falling Down is one of my favorite songs of all time. Such a shame that Noel never does it live anymore.

During the 90's before you were born Noel fell in love with an album by an American band called Cotton Mather, the album was called Kontiki. If you don't know it, give it a listen. It is pure beatles-oasis perfection. Robert Harrison the man behind Cotton Mather is still releasing music.

Yeah I remember Noel talking about it sometimes in the late '90. I remember he was in love with the song She's Only Cool. That record was a nightmare to get here in Europe in those days, you couldn't find it anywhere 😅

The thing with oasis is that you have atleast 2 absolute bangers every album. My ranking of my favourite oasis albums and my favourite tunes :
    7. Heathen Chemistry (SCYHO, Little by Little, Songbird)
    6. Don't Believe the Truth (Lyla, Let the Be Love, Improtance of being Idle)
5.Dig out Your Soul (I'm outta time, Shock of the Lighting, Falling Down)
4.Standing On the Shoulder of Giants (Gas Panic, Go let it out, Roll it Over) + Let's all make believe
3.Be Here Now (DYKWIM, Don't Go Away, Be here Now) + stay young, flashbax
    2. Definitely Maybe (Live Forever, Slide Away, Supersonic) (+Whatever)
    1. Morning Glory (Some might say, Champagne Supernova, DLBIA (+ b sides Masterplan, Talk tonight)
    No bad albums

18:54 its criminal that they did not release the live versions of Fade In/Out or Be Here Now for the album reissue in 2016 or the 25th anniversary last year.

My personal take on 'Dig out your soul' I was in a similar situation to yourself, just hitting the age where I truly understood Oasis & their back catalogue. Shock of the Lightning & Fallen Down stand the test of time & if they were on any other of their albums would be considered classics. I think by critics & music lovers 'Dig out your soul' is a bit of a right off....interested to hear your thoughts?

Nice list, took some time to think about what mine would be and here it is (from least to most favorite):
    Be Here Now
    Definitely Maybe
    Don't Believe the Truth
Standing on the Shoulder of Giants
    Heathen Chemistry
    Dig Out Your Soul
    What's the Story Morning Glory
Funny enough I find myself listening more to post-bonehead/guigsy albums

Hey mate, I got Noel’s autograph at the Leeds gig too. Where you in the que at the side of the arena? I was last one in the que and he signed my t shirt 👌🏻

Yeah man, I got there at 1:30pm from getting the bus in from Tadcaster where I live. Stood in the queue for 3 and a half hours and if you remember it was a baking hot day. I was (stupidly in the sweltering heart) wearing a Black R Kid t shirt. Does that ring any bells of you seeing me at all?

@@jnb432 I remember the day very well. Wife saw a blacked out double decker bus and joked it was his tour bus and then a few hours later it was parked up at arena and it was his lol. We live in Filey so pretty close to you. If your on instagram then I’ll send a photo over of the day. I need to take a picture of my signed top too to be honest 😵‍💫

Not really a great band to do a ranking of cos it’s either what’s the story or definitely maybe at number 1 just predictable init
