I'm middle aged, and I've never been black friday shopping, in person or now, online. I imagine the process is fun for some people, but it seemed kind of crazy to me, so the savings have never been worth it to me personally. Currently making a concentrated effort to shop local, so I guess I'll miss out on online savings too, lol.
The day after Thanksgiving is Slack Friday in our household. Goofing off, playing games, getting out and doing a photo scavenger hunt if the weather cooperates, that kind of thing. Corporate America has a stranglehold on our wallets every other day of the year, so this is our vacation from spending.
Your espresso machine was the pair of slippers I ordered for my guy, He has a super wide, hard to fit foot. When I called Amazon (this was back in 2015-- don't know if you can still do that) to update that-- surprise!-- the original finally arrived, and 'What do I owe you? We are so grateful & want both", they let us keep both with no extra charge.
Can you make a video about job hunting and the job prospect in 2024. Lately it has been awfully difficult to secure a job especially when job ghosting is happening.
Thanks for the tips! I want the Ray Ban meta glasses and iPad. The items can be new or refurbished. What is the best way to get them? Do I wait till after the holidays or before?
3:30 Haha something similar happened a couple of years ago. I got my girl a Dyson hairdryer from Amazon on BF... The only difference is that while it was delivered on, the delivery was not reflected on my order history... I contacted customer service and opted for a refund instead of a replacement. BTW: I'm a cheap date XD... I don't like going out to eat dinner, travel, or vacation that much
First of all I really love your channel but just a slight note on the Amazon Expresso machine story. Just a question, you didnt report it or paid fr the second one? I hope you did 😅
Not everyone is religious enough to pay those, and each religion is different and has different rules so she’s not going to tell people what to do there, and neither should you. My faith says they’re supposed to be after depending on certain expenses, and if you include certain expenses under “living” like buying music or clothing or whatever little bonus you consider “living” then that can go before the contribution. Because our faith would rather us live than just survive, and if we’re too poor or don’t work , some people are exempt. You shouldn’t assume everyone’s Christian, or that they’re even religious
Buy any unlocked phone and you can use it on any carrier. I don't know about best time to buy a phone but I have definitely found offers during Black Friday. One year I got a Samsung S series phone by double dipping. I got cash back from Rakuten and it was on sale at Samsung's website. The discount is higher if you buy a previous model but I remember there were discounts for current models too. My current phone is a Pixel that I bought earlier this Spring because Google Store had some sort of sale... Can't remember if it coincided with a spring time holiday...
I hope you find the courage to do so some day. I'm 37 and took my first solo trip abroad this year. It started as a semi solo trip to Taiwan last December to visit a friend who was living there temporarily. I hung out with her but for a few days I was on my own. It was also the first trip where I had international data! Huge difference when your smartphone works internationally and you're in a relatively safe country with low crime rates and great public transit. Then my real solo trip happened in June when I went to Portugal. I even took a day trip to Sinatra by train to visit a few castles in the mountainous region. Filled with tourists and tour buses. Not scary at all. I also booked a bunch of small group activities so I could socialize and meet fellow travelers. There were some female solo travelers in some of these activities. All this to say, it took me until 37 to feel comfortable and I have been an avid traveler since I was in university. Something I recommend you try if your anxiety level is off the charts is to join a tour operator that is geared towards you. There are so many tour operators that specialize in certain age groups or other demographics. It's almost like going solo but not. I've heard good things from female friends who have gone this route. Best of luck!

I "SAVE" the MOST by STAYING HOME!
Buying during January and February is a great tip👍 Stores during that time always have deep discounted items that they are desperate to get rid of.
My spending this year feels more intentional. We're all doing our best. Thank you, Vivian!
'spent $9.8 billion online shopping on black Friday' .... wow😲 Solid info Vivian!

Looked at an Amazon item 2 weeks ago. It was 15.99. Now it’s “on sale” for $39.99! “Really great Black Friday week.
Thanks for all your hot tips! Thanks for the reminder to be thankful for what we already have and being more generous/giving back to others.
Friendsgiving 🎉 great idea... I just don't have any friends 😂😂😂
I needed this. TY for sharing your time, knowledge, experience, and humor.
I buy all my facial moisturizer for the whole year on Black Friday! Origins and L’Occtaine
Hope you and Ramit collaborate sometime!! Love you both. 🫶🏼
Excellent tips and very thoughtful video. Encapsulates what the holidays should be about.
Thanks, got me pumped for a want/need spread sheet 💰
Please address the potential economic downturn coming and how our spending should reflect that.
My best Black Friday buys were tires and plane tickets
Always so informative. Thank you
Best Black Friday buys have been winter Coats and clearance (last season’s) evening gowns, believe it or not.

❤❤❤❤ I’ve always thought that way. My dollar is my time. 😅
Amazon is the best about making things right, when something goes wrong.

It’s very stressful to me that Black Friday sales start earlier than before.
Why?

Tithes and offerings should be pay first before any spendings

tbh idk if this is best time but when kids go back to school they say they have sales now is that true idk? 😂
I bought one at Costco and got one free 3 years ago. My phone carrier is Verizon. I don't know this year, and I have no plan of getting one.
Travelling solo abroad as a female is so scary to me. I could probably never do that, my anxiety would kill me.

Oh no!
I understand your feelings of anxiety because I have them too, but keep in mind that many other countries are safer than America.

Save by not buying anything
did you have a glow-up? almost didn't recognize you
I’m going to guess that she’s pregnant
A bit preachy especially towards the end.
Your great on shorts. But this overly self indulgent yap session was far too yappy. Getting a bit big for your britches me thinks
Too preachy.
