    Old composite was just as good. Needed polishing. A lot of unnecessary steps also. In the final the incisors were too long.

    The purpose of this video is to demonstrate the usefulness of these LM carte instruments & not the beauty of the restoration , this video serves its purpose very well.

      Jajaja its true, I wish to have that calm, nothings compared with the stress in the clinic when i have to sculpt 2 veneers in 1 hour or less. Lol !

    I think if you just polished the original... it may be more nature.
    This patient has less mamelon, so the new composite recreate too much mamelon.
    The translucency of the new restoration is very beautiful, however the patient's own tooth isn't that much translucent, so this make a dark shadow on the restoration.
    All above that, there's no denied that this is a very useful instrument, I myself had bought this for one year and I loved it.

      agreed.....no doubt this person has great talent but I do agree that the original looks like it just needs a good polishing...

    I hate seeing them go through all this amazing effort only to see a bottle of 3M scotchbond being used. If you are going to do such an exquisite job at repairing the teeth, it would only be fitting to accompany the technique with a bonding system of that will ensure the longevity of the restorations. Thought for sure I'd see Kuraray or Kerr on there, but 3M? Come on, guys!

    • @cosmogang
      @cosmogang 4 года назад +2

      The characterization and marginal adaptation of the new restorations is much better than the old. Also the polish of the new is better, and the translucency is better. The new restorations also don't have a damn pin/screw for retention which is just ridiculous. The change in the shape of the black triangle is NOT automatically worse just because it may be bigger in 1 dimension. You made a subjective assessment (disguised as a fact) on something that the patient could very well be totally pleased with, and could have even been planned that way. The contact was very slightly opened, and yeah, that's not something you usually want, but REMEMBER, they just had a interproximal wedge between the teeth for quite a while during the filming of the procedure. I'm 99% sure it rebounded into place after a few minutes. If you've never seen that, you haven't done enough restorative dentistry to sit there and bash the work. Even if the space remained, it is an easy fix. As a whole it was worthwhile to replace the old, pin retained, poorly bonded and poorly adapted, dull composite. The new material can always be modified until the patient is happy, but in a case like this (esp with the pin) knowing the underlying tooth is free from decay and/or cracks is reason enough to replace the old, let alone the esthetic component

    Hello Doctor I am from Iraq, I am 19 years old. I have a fracture in my front teeth. I'm confused. Is there a better solution for them. In my, doctors do not recommend it well. What is the best solution Please 🌹

    • @triplepowers2291
      @triplepowers2291 5 лет назад

      A veneer or crown would be a better option in many cases. Trust your doctor. I have a lot of friends who are dentists from Iraq and they are great dentists. All the best to you.

    • @dr.aseelibraheem
      @dr.aseelibraheem 4 года назад

      In my opinion for your case (Post crown) is the best solution because it maintains esthetic and functional purposes otherwise we should see the case clinically to give the definitive diagnosis and treatment ♡

    FYI no one cares what instrument you're using, theyre going to just use whatever they like to use, made the video 2x as long as it should have been. I mean its a good video and great job restoring but cut out all the clips of instruments.

    • @bloomdds
      @bloomdds 8 лет назад +2

      You missed the fact that this was a demo of the use of these instruments for a composite layering technique. This was not an instructional on bonding, per se. If you understand the idea of bonding a uniform 0.5 layer of enamel composite resin on the surface of your dentin/body resins, then these instruments are an aid to achieve that with some consistency. There are other videos on RUclips if you are looking other methods or instructionals on how to achieve proximal contacts, eliminate black triangles, etc.
