Well your a site for sore eyes my friend. Good to hear from you and glad to see you’re doing well. Good video, you haven’t lost your touch one bit. We all still love ya. Take care.
Glad to see you back Anne. Hope your winter and spring went well and your garden flourishes. I think you were photo bombed by Oliver. Best to you and all of your family.
PS have you guys thought about a high tunnel for food purification all year long lhave been looking at a 16’ with high sides and l live in Carriere Ms for mostly for bug control less poisons to buy and put in to the soil ok 👌 thanks bee safe and god bless
@@donaldgross5709 A greenhouse is definitely on the project list, there's just a lot of things ahead of it. Moving and re-establishing a farm while also building a school and working full time has been much more of a triage-like situation than I initially expected it would be, but in retrospect, I don't really know why I expected anything to be different either haha :)
Good to see you again Anne! Hope you’ve been busy working on awesome projects you will share with us soon? I’ve been lucky to have time to mow my yard this season, let alone plant anything. Maybe today I will. 😉👍
Yep! Glad to see you Anne, I’m glad you did this vid. as I’m a beginner gardener and my garden didn’t do very well this year, but you’re saying maybe I have time for a few do overs here in Southern California. I used grow bags and bagged organic soil, I’ve been hearing that’s not a great combo. I need more real earth dirt mixed in. And the concrete is making to much heat for my vegetables. I hope to move to the country in the way Northern California coast within the year.
Anne is BACK.... YAYYYYY :-) So when are we gonna see footage of the new building that has been built in some shots of this video?? Sure hope it will be real soon... :-) :-) From this kiwi in New Zealand :-) :-)
U can make that gardening journal more useful w/scissors & tape: cut those seed packet backs down to the useful info only & tape those onto journal pages. U can get several to a page by tapping only one edge & overlapping like fish scales. If U later want notes to go with one seed type (or when is probably a better description): cut the tape, tape the seed info to a new page & add Ur notes
That is a great tip! Honestly that gardening journal is exceptionally versatile, I’ve just always loved the idea of planning and struggled with the execution of making and keeping said plans ;)
Hey there, Anne! Looks like you have been very busy as usual! When will we get an update on how the school building project is going? The sneaky tease shot looks like major headway since you last did update us! FR
@@AnneofAllTrades I know that you & April are good friends. So, what do you think about her recent venture into TV stardom with Tim Allen ? Heck, she could end up as the Head Elf in Charge of Construction in the continuing saga of "The Santa Claus". 🤣🤣🤣
Which “stuff” exactly? Sweeping statements like that can be very discouraging to inexperienced gardeners. Last year I planted a lot of these same things in august just as an experiment and didn’t have a single plant not give at least a few harvestable items.
Hey Anne I have literally planted the leaves sex it's the leave section that you took off in the ground and just kept is in the ground just kept on wet kept it moist all the time or in a cup and I'm or in a cup and rooted Em and made another plan out of them
Yep you can totally re-root your tomato clippings if you’d like. A trick is to put the stems in water for a few days prior to replanting to give them a head start creating new roots.
Cant get more in texas..the brutal heat wont let u...today. its 110 in shade..only the toughest things survive...im dreaming of.fall like northerners dream of spring. Ive got cabin fever because its too hot to step outside..i am pushing my luck and starting fall crops way too early...but i cant help it...
Oliver rarely comes outside actually 😂 and prefers his inside potty. But I did put an electric line around my garden to keep out stray cats and other pests
man, i dont know what to say. i came through videos 8 months ago... and a year ago.. washington state to tenn! im all turned around lol she is busting butt thats for sure
Transplanting anything is going to send it into shock for several weeks. By removing the lower leaves and planting deeper, you’re giving your tomato plant a several WEEK head start on establishing it’s root system. Not to mention that this practice will encourage a far thicker main stem that will be able to support the weight of the fruit later on. This will also significantly reduce the need to water. I don’t want the daily chore of watering my garden when I can make it more capable of taking care of itself. 🤷🏻♀️
@@AnneofAllTrades wel i don't want to argue about watering a watering system is not that expensive but that's not what interested me :) but how does that give a head start since it needs to produce the root hormones as wel to produce new roots that takes like 1-2 weeks even do it could get a thicker stem dont you still need to support it? the only benefit i can personally see here is that the deeper you go the more moiste the soil will stay and therefore don't have to water it in this case
Watering systems may not be super expensive, but even that is a relative term, even if you can afford it, that also assumes not only that you have access to affordable water and don’t mind using more than would be necessary if you could set your garden up to need less water from the outset, but also that you have the time to set one up and monitor it. One method is not necessarily better than the other, but having understanding about all the options available for different situations is important.
@@AnneofAllTrades i can agree with this :) but you have timers you can set on your water source and tell it when to water and for how long :D it indeed depends on what you want and i would only use the watering system if it would be very hot,dry or just planted the plants to let them have the root system so search for water themself

Yes! Anne is back with a new video! We miss you Mrs. Anne

One thing I love about Tennessee is that we can sometimes get 2 harvests due to the longer warm seasons.
Depending on the crop, sometimes even five or six!
Yeeehaaa, Anne is back :-D

the shortening of the daylight hours will keep stuff from maturing.

What are those fencing panels you use? I've never seen anything quite that rigid--Looks like a nice solution for reconfiguration later.

I admire everything you do. Do you ever sleep???
I'd love to plant a small raised bed garden, but i've always hesitated because I have cats. Any advice? TIA
very informative
So do you have a problem with Oliver using the garden as a potty? My cat killed a few plants :(
