thank you! its been difficult finding a quick video on dumping, recalling etc. for my rd6 and i was too precious with my patterns to try myself lol, didnt want anything to disappear. ✌
Had my TD-3 for about a week now. Played "real" bass in a band for 30 years...and now this, LOL! Love it more than I expected to. Has some nice features and work flow, that my Korg NuBass does not have. In particular I love the ability to transpose the patterns, while recording them into tracks (songs). I hope they do an update to this app (and the iOS app). That makes it more user friendly (automatic updating TD-3 While you enter/modify notes. And include Track editing in this software, please. Thanks for the helpful content. Subscribed. Best wishes for your continued success.
Very helpful! I love my TD-3-MO and I'm planing a hybrid setup with cdj's and some synced analog synths to play with. Synthtribe really helps keeping patterns organised and safe 🙌
I AM WAY FSTER SENDING NEW PROGRAMS VIA SYNTH TRIBE THAN WRITING THEM AND I GREW UP WITH COMPPUTERS IN THE 90S AND PLAY PINAO. THIS DEVICE IS VERY UNIQUE
I downloaded SynthTribe from the Behringer site but it won't let me open it on my Mac. Says the file needs to be updated from Behringer first. Has anyone had this problem? It was version 2.5.7. Any help?
I might be being stupid, but is Synthtribe supposed to allow you to program rests? I've been storing patterns with rests, but when I recall them the rests are filled in with whatever the preceding note is. Any help really appreciated
Hi..great tutorial Mark...1 silly question...How did you display the Export window, no matter if I try to minimise the Synthtribe window or 'Return' I get that sound that the window is open but I cant get to it...Any help would be greatful.
any idea how to get a .seq or .pat from a midi file? i have patterns/piano rolls i have made but they are all in midi files. garageband can get a piano roll out of it but .seq and .pat (the only files synthtribe will import) seem to be super rare
Hi there, great video, but in my case I am not able to play the updated Patterns on my TD-3 like you do on the video. All the regular behavior of the TD-3 halted once I activated the MIDI connection; so then I am able to Recall a pattern, edit it, even store it back into the TD-3 (I assume), but then how do I play it like you show on the video? Will appreciate your kind help in advance.
@@303Guy I think I may be getting this same issue too. It appears as though I am storing new patterns, and even recalling what I have stored. But even though the screen shows me my new patterns, it still just plays those old ones like ghosts hanging around. So, something, perhaps to do with ''internal mode''? I'll re-look above.
Update since a few minutes ago there. I just tried playing patterns 2 and 3, yet it ONLY plays the same pattern for each of them. None of them are different. it is like ONE pattern which won't go away has filled up the whole unit.
@@lukassssi Not sure then i think may because its a 13inch monitor it may not display the full program you could get a bigger monitor and an apple monitor adapter to use with your mac. This has many benefits
I've got an RD-8 as master, and the TD3 linked to it via sync cable. You could just let the drum machine play 1 kick every 16 steps and program/compose your bass notes on the fly. It's not really in real time (you have to press 'store' after every change you make in the synthtribe screen, and it'll take a few counts for the changes to come into effect), but at least you can quickly hear your basslines progress.
I just cannot get this to work for me at all. I can delete previous stored patterns and so on, and recall them after I've changed the notes and so on. But it ONLY still plays the patterns I'm trying to record/store over the top of. That is to say, even when I recall a pattern, delete it's notes, program in new ones, store, then recall them, it still just plays the old stuff I don't want any more. Also worth noting: There is absolutely no way to know what BPM you are at! It has to be done 100% on the fly, which isn't always helpful, and often wasteful of time. True, the TD-3 could be synced to whatever else, but, still, not having an inbuilt means of distinguishing BPM radpidly, it gets really irritating fast at times. Sometimes, most times in fact, by ear I am really good. But get times when my head just can't cope that way due to other factors.~ But, yes, I am doing everything you tell me above, and the TD-3 or synthtribe both appear to think that my new patterns have been stored, BUT, when recalled, show the new pattern, but I'm only getting the same old patterns played!
I always use the editor for PC it's sooo much easier than the hardware user interface I do have a question tho is there any way to play the td3 in real time ?
In the synthtribe editor, how do you get it to play back what you've just input and stored, and recalled? I get it to do all of the above (new pattern input, stored, and then recalled), but it yet only ever plays the old patterns, even though I SEE the new patterns being recalled. The guy in the video just says something about internal mode set. But that's what it is all set to by default anyhow?
hey man do you mind making an updated version? there's literally nothing else out there explaining how to use synthtribe and the current UI is different and does not work at all on my mac. I'm honestly curious if the mac version just doesn't work at all. Once I go to the sequencer screen I'm locked into it and it only takes up a small part of the window, and there's no option to output the audio anywhere. It's fucking useless.
I have both. They work GORGEOUSLY well together and compliment each other like f*ck! yeh, any one who gets either or both can't go wrong. The rest just comes down to varied puritanism (fuck those restrictive, never-happy disqualifying assholes. Even original TB-303's all never ever sounded the same, or were all giving the exact same responses to the varied minds and skill and creativity of the users! Everything from gentle squelchy bubbles, through to arse-grindingly good distrorted punky (and what i call:) electric didgeridoo squawnking! PHOOOWARRRRR! lol Where was I? F*ck, yeh man, both are excellent, both have their strengths and weaknesses (and what digital, analogue, or acoustic instrument doesn't? And all depending on WHO is using it and what for.....), BUT both are excellent, and compliment each other REALLY very well. I'm now up to two TD-3's, and a TB-3, plus the Roland System-1M main semi-modular unit. And it all works lovely via Roland MX-1 with it's varied in/out options. Am a REALLY happy chappy.

Thanks so much, this and your other tutorials are very helpful!
Thanks for coming back . 🙂
Great helpful video. Thanks for much for posting.
Glad it was helpful!
muchas gracias!!!! gurú!!!
I love the Acid monster plus you can make dirty bass, don't encourage ppl to be mercenary just play with it and experiment 😀

Sorry for being this kind of guy, but that's actually not a Polyrythm but a Polymeter. Anyways thx for the tutorial! :)

It has something to do with resolution I think, I ran the app on my 2nd monitor & it displayed the file explorer no problems.

how do you get whole synthtribe in the screen because i have to scroll to see all 16 notes?
It may be that I have a higher resolution monitor what’s your resolution

Does anyone know how this works with the Crave I can't get it to work?
i use this as my metronome/bass guitar lol
Can you play like a kick or something while programming it?

Sorry, let me ask you something, can we set the bpm on synth tool?
Not really unless you externally set it from a different synth
Thanks for thia.
No problem 😊

in synthtribe sequencer page I don't see the mouse pointer.
thank you all
Not sure make sure you have downloaded the latest version
@@303Guy I use Synthtribe 2.5.7 on ASUS notebook with Windows 10 and a standard USB mouse

No ability to add a Rest in the sequencer? What's all that about??
Isn't skipping a note on the sequencer just implying a rest? it must get stored as a rest in the sequence
I was hoping it would update in real time as your editing notes rather than having to click store every time.
maybe in the future :)
It also only plays-back the OLD pattern, even when I input, store, then recall a new pattern it still ONLY plays the old patterns.
I find the software very painful as well. If only synth makers invested another %...
Hello? Anybody?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Really annoying to have to click on store every freakin move...
