  • In this tutorial, I want to show you how to go from block print to a seamless pattern using Adobe Photoshop.
    This beautiful block printed flower was made by Danielle Broder from The Recoverie. Danielle is an illustrator, block printer, and online educator from California. She started block printing on fabric in 2009 and has gone from making a line of home products, teaching her block printing process, creating custom work for interior designers, and now teaching her craft online.
    If you want to learn more about block printing, Danielle has a free class called "Design a Perfect Block Print" that you can check out here: the-recoverie....

    THIS IS AMAZING! Can you show how to make a more complex half-drop repeat in Photoshop, where images overlap? I see that you have half-drop video for Photoshop, but not showing how to make things sort of flow into each other.

    Do you have a video where you explain your tools that you use? I would like to start making my own patterns in photoshop but I do not have a drawing tablet or stylus or anything like that.

    what size should I choose for new file to create designs? As I need large size for POD sites.
    Thank you

    • @bycristinasilvia
      @bycristinasilvia  3 года назад

      From what I saw, 3600 x 3600px at 300 dpi is pretty standard. You should check the requirements of the sites you use.

    I design on photoshop then I upload them on Print on demand site for shirts, mugs etc. Should I save a file as png or jpg?

      I usually save them as JPEG, but you should check the requirements of the sites you use.

    I can only seem to get it to work if the image is an exact square? I am not sure, please comment below if you have any advice.

    • @bycristinasilvia
      @bycristinasilvia  3 года назад

      It doesn't have to be square. It works for any rectangle. You have to enter half the width and half the height of your image and also make sure that your illustration is centered. You can use the align tools for that.
