In this video we show you Kaleshwar Mahadev Temple. Kaleshwar Mahadev Temple (Shri Kalinath Kaleshwar Shiva Temple/Mandir) is an ancient temple located in the Kangra District in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Situated at a distance of 8 km from the village of Pragpur & 10 km from Mata Jawalaji Temple, the temple is dedicated to the worship of the Hindu deity, Shiva. This temple enshrines a unique 'lingam', a symbol of Shiva, which is found deep below the ground level. The walls of the temple are decorated with magnificent monuments and hold many antique tombs.
Lord Shiva is the presiding deity of this temple. The temple is also known as Kalesar & Shri Kalinath Kaleshwar Shiva Temple. During Maha Shivratri festival as well as in the month of Shravan (Hindu Month) a huge number of devotees throng at this place. The temple is found on the bank of the River Vyas and appears as a perfect meditating spot. A Hindu Cremation Ghat is seen next to this temple. According to the belief of the temple care takers and people around, every
year at the times of monsoon, the flow of the Vyas River keeps increasing till the time it reaches itself to the Shiva Lingam. After the water reaches the Jalahri of the Shivling, it subsides.
