The DMC clip is probably one of the funniest things I've ever seen. The fact it's perfectly cut so you can hear Jerma go "OH MY-" before the explosion is so fucking good.
I went to bed during that stream and woke up to hell
The "OH MY" was a reaction to the bomb breaking his window before exploding.

the ads probably are just made to sell stuff so they have to be obnoxious and push that in with the volume
i get it. i've got a compressor running in PipeWire for specific software that tend to have very quiet lows and extremely loud highs. make sure to not mess with the volume too much to where it completely loses it's dynamic range and mess with your ears. to be clear, i usually keep volume levels around 60 to 80%. jermamites, take care of your hearing.

Yeah my hearing is already more or less doomed. I've come to terms with being deaf by the time I'm 40. Younger me decided loud equals funny and earrape was HILARIOUS and loved blasting the most insane loud noises possible.

Compressor -> Limiter -> Hard Clipper
Compressor for dynamics, Limiter for whatever the compressor didn't have the time to catch, and Hard Clipper to cut off totally any remaining audio over the threshold
The Clipper is more a final safety measure rather than actually doing something, if the Limiter is good enough the Clipper shouldn't be cutting anything at all

In the 0:24 clip, did the extremely loud sound come from the game or real life? It sounded like his mic was cutting out/clipping
The game. The audio from the clip has been made SIGNIFICANTLY quieter here, which has had the side effect of making his mic much quieter too. In the original audio, his microphone didn't get quieter or cut out.
The original clip actually sounds like he got fuckin NUKED. It's actually crazy.

I literally do this all the time at the theater. When I’d go and see a movie like twice, I’d always calculate when to leave the theater to to go to the bathroom to avoid that one unnecessarily loud explosion jumpscare that every action movie has
