So true. Once your partner lies to you or hides texts, calls, time spent away from you...he or she is already cheating. Betrayal doesn't just mean sexual contact. It's everything that leads up to it too.

The way I think of the difference is this... You don't have to be having sexual intercouse to have an affair, It all comes down to emotion. If a person is married and someone is having lunch with that person, and that person feels like the conversation between the two of them is really happy and giddy, that person should stop seeing that person. Giddiness is a direct sign of flirtation. If someone feels giddy inside, chances are that person is becoming emotionally stimulated by the experience, and it's therefore falling into the category of "forbidden fruit is the most tempting".
This is especially true if the married guy is finding opportunities to be charming, alluring, and comical throughout the conversation. This also qualifies if he's concerned about the emotional impact of things (trying to make her laugh, focusing talk on her favorite things) and weaving it into the conversation in such a way that it becomes an "all about her" conversation, since he knows that she'll enjoy talking about herself, and it will increase an emotional appeal for him. Which is what he's looking to do... stimulate her, so he can eventually sleep with her.
If any or all of this happens, and he's married, STOP having lunches and any other dates whatsoever. No telephone calls. No texting. No emailing.

I feel none of this happens if you are with the right partner. There is no need for it. Many people are in relationships they need to leave but do not want to be alone. I would much rather be alone than in a "just ok" marriage or relationship.

I suspect emotional affairs are very common, especially in today's social media environment. 50% of men n Woman have physical affairs, I'm guessing another 30% having emotional affairs = 80% men n Woman having affairs at any given time. Sounds about right

Why do woman have to make everything so bloody complicated…and should I trust the advice of a woman with macrame as a wall decoration?

I have studied for 6 years and have thousands of hours of additional professional development. I can appreciate that the art work isn't too your taste but the advice is sound. 😊

@@DebbiCarberryI was joking about the wall decoration. Macrame was a bit of a fad in the 70s. My mum as did every other mum did macrame. Went the same way as crocheted bikinis. As for relationships I still clung to the dream into my 50s then I learnt how relationships really worked and why they exist. Bit unfortunate but that just the way it is.
