I will be doing My dear melancholy and I will be doing after hours again as a replay!! I really want to show my love for that album on camera while listening to all the songs and picking at why I like all the songs off of the album. After hours is the 3rd album out of all the albums that I have heard in my life that I have given a 10/10. So this isn't the end just yet!!

Tbh for his standards starboy wasn’t all that good compared to something like kissland or house of balloons
Mohtarif Ahmed I disagree. He releases different sounds on everything he puts out and this if anything is his more experimental album. The amount of versatility he put into this one is incredible and imo Die For You, All I know and Ordinary Life are amongst his greatest songs. You can’t expect everything to sound like his early stuff, like I said, everything he puts out has a different sound.
Skorpion obviously I’m not expecting it to sound like his old stuff but let’s be honest from his entire discography it is probably his “worst” album I’m not saying it’s bad but compared to kissland trilogy or even after hours it’s probably his “worst” project alongside beauty behind the madness. The whole album really had no theme production was mediocre and all he did was reiterate how much money he had and how many bitches he had like it’s literally an extension of BBTM.
Skorpion I feel like starboy was the “beta” version of after hours I feel like after hours was everything starboy was meant to be in my opinion

Starboy is such a cool project by The Weeknd because i feel, it was the album, he decided to let loose and make dope mainstream bangers.. i guess he was at a point in his life where everything was working out for him based on the tracks on the album..!!

Unpopular opinion: the making of this album was really a turning point for Abel's sound evolution. All this uptempo kind of pop and the collab with Daft Punk really helped him expand his style. Really an underrated album

This album truly had the most hits out of all his albums at the time, but it also depends on how you look at it now. All 18/18 songs charted on the hot 100 with Starboy, but all 14/14 songs also did with After Hours as well, including Blinding Lights being literally the biggest hit of all time while Save Your Tears is in the top 100. The fact that he 1 upped himself showed that he truly is a legend

I honestly can’t see the hate for this album either. Like you can’t expect everything he puts out to sound like Trilogy or Kissland, the guy uses a different type of style and sound every time he puts something out and this is no exception. This is a pop/r&b fusion album done perfectly imo and some of his best songs are on here like Die For You and Ordinary Life. Another masterpiece by Abel right here.

My guy, I'm with you. I don't know why STARBOY gets so much hate. Niggas feel an artist come out with a sound and they should stay in one lane, and the best thing about GOATS is the growth and evolution of sound. You can't have AFTER HOURS, if you don't have starboy and my dear melancholy... and it's the logical transition to trilogy. If you want to enjoy this visually...watch a video called MANIA by The Weeknd.... there are 4 or 5 songs from STARBOY that otherwise wouldn't have had a video but he blended them into one

This album gets a lot of criticism. Its just a different vibe to the previous albums. It's just a fun time, and it's The Weeknd experimenting with different sounds. I honestly think Starboy played a big part in Abel finding and refining his sound to find his lane for his future releases - MDM, After Hours and more to come. It's simple, sometimes you listen to some artists and you listen to other artists too, you need to change it up sometimes. this is just like Abel's discography, he's versatile, he doesnt't need to stick to what YOU like all the time. He has his artistic pursuit.

People dislike this album because it is generally regarded as his worst album. Not saying it is a bad album by any means. There are just a lot of basic songs on here that people didn't receive well because they thought he was changing to be more commercialized and dry.
