I actually have heard of that case before as I live and have grown up in the Carolinas most of my life. That story brought me to tears. That boy was a baby almost the same age as my son and I just can NOT understand why anyone would ever do such an awful thing to a child! I understand that back in those days in the south, that blacks had it bad.. but this was a child! I just can’t understand that and never will. But it is absolutely an important & interesting case for sure. Thanks for bringing that up.

Wow! I think my mouth hung open throughout the video lol.
I had heard and read about the tragedy of the three missing civil rights organizers for most of my life, but to see the actual area was just awesome.
You may have done the driving down south, but you took us along for the history lesson. For that I’m so grateful.
More than that, the impact your walks through history has on viewers is lasting and, I hope, provocative. You make it so interesting,
You educate so many viewers who probably have little or no prior knowledge of many of the facts you unveil.
    Thank you.

Debbie, it is truly quite easy! Once you refuse to see the truth, love and humanity regardless of race, origin, sex, religion, disability or any type of difference, it becomes very easy to hate. To deny that anyone other than those who are just like you are deserving of love, trust, companionship, fair play and honesty. For some reason there is something wrong with the eyes, brains and hearts of many people. They can only accept those like themselves. Anyone who is different does not deserve love, life or respect. Excuses are easy to make.

I was born in 1963 and we learned about this in school later .. In Greenland. I also remember the first time we had a visitor of African American descent in our village - We'd never seen "The people of the black land" (as they are called in Greenlandic). This gave one of our teachers this great idea to inform us about America and the racial problems. We were kids, but could relate to it since we as Inuit also met those kind of whites in our own country. Today (2024) it's disturbing to know that as late as yesterday the supreme court INCLUSIVE an African American judge rule FOR the gerrymandering of black voters in the south. I was once in the Everglades and met whites that act exactly as they did in the 60s - I was told to step out from a store because I looked native - Well aware of these cultures I knew how to avoid problems. Disgusting culture that will not disappear any time soon.

Hi Ron. Being born in the UK i was never exposed to the slavery that went on nor did i have any exposure to the violence and civil rights movement. we didn't learn about it in school either. Since moving to Canada i have found out myself how whites treated the blacks in segregation or just in general. It has made me ashamed to be white. I love all nations people, except those who beat women or treat women as second class citizens. With todays thinking of equality and basic acceptance, tolerance and forgiveness. The bible tells us to be kind to our neighbours it doesn't mater what colour of the skin. I know it still goes on today. when it was still new to every one the civil rights should have been taught and measure taken to make sure these people, yes they are people like you and me, they didn't have to die that is taking things to the extreme. thank you for remembering these boys, they had their whole lives ahead of them, a brighter future they never got to witness the very thing they were protesting for freedom to choose and be respected for what they do, they are finally one of us. we still need to make sure these peoples who weren't just from Africa as many believed, they were taken from other nations too It breaks my heart when i hear stories like this so very sad. May God protect them and punish those who have murdered these boy who were good looking kids. Rest in eternal peace young ones.

My great grandparents and their siblings were born and raised in Meridian. A beautiful place to visit and lots of history. Lots! I was told very hair raising life stories each experienced during segregation. 🥺😔 I hope to write about their experiences someday. God bless them 🙏

Just now watched this for the first time…you’re doing a great thing to bring the story of these young men’s struggle and calling to so many. But I gotta say …at the very end, where you say, “God rest their souls!” ….the wind kicks up again, and tho it’s been windy throughout the video, this was DIFFERENT. This was their response.

I have watched "Mississippi Burning" several times and it never fails to stir emotions within me. Feeling enraged by the way these Civil Rights Workers who were there to register the black communities to have Voting Rights, being treated so horribly by the local towns white people, and the Law Enforcement Officers, the Mayor, and Judge, in this little town filled with such ignorance and hatred and the KKK members which the Sheriff and Deputies were members of. My heart broke for the way the black community was treated on a daily basis and of course for the 3 very brave Civil Rights Workers. Their murderers should have had much harsher sentences IMO.
Thank you for sharing their story with all of us. Let Us Never Forget their sacrifices. May the work they started back in 1964, continue on making progress in Equal Rights. For everyone deserves acceptance and have equal rights here in the USA no matter what our differences may be... RIP

How many stories such as this "never" get reported. This poor boy's body was desecrated after death with such a violent demise then thrown into a pit while alive in beyond comprehensible to grasp. But then after being layed to rest we still have vandals come to desecrate his grave year's later is just horrific!!. He's now resting in peace but yet his headstone needs propping up,....what kind of disrespectful crazies would do such a thing is disheartening to think of.
Allot of angry people out there that need serious help. Let the dead rest!!! 🙏
    Love from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦♥️
