I absolutely agree with you about wearing vintage perfumes at any age even in your early 20s. Back in my time we did it very often. I still remember one of the most famous girls in our university (circa 1996), who was always very well informed about the new fashion trends and would wear mostly designers' clothes, but her signature perfume was Guerlain, Shalimar (1925). As for me, I remember wearing Estee Lauder, Youth Dew (1953) during winter and Chanel Cristalle EdT (1974) during spring and summertime. As you see, most vintage perfumes never fall out of fashion.
Hi, thank you so much for watching my videos. Yes vintage perfumes are classic, timeless, and eternal in some ways. I always associate perfumes with some time and special memories of my life. And sometime, when I walk in the streets of Paris, I smell some perfumes that remind me of an emotion or a feeling. It is like the little madeleine of Proust..... I love Chanel Cristalle and I find it perfect for summer and very tropical weather...
Fantastic reviews! I used to work behind the counter in the 80's and 90's and I remember these fragrances like old friends! First is one of my faves and you described it beautifully!
Thank you so much 😍 I love First too beautiful aldehyde perfume
First VC and A was my first signature scent back when i was 19 yrs old. Although i own many perfumes it still has a special place in my heart. Van Cleef is one of my favourite houses. I also love vanille orchidee and Bois d' iris. Ysatis is my all time favourite and is always in my perfume collection. I appreciate your taste and your channel cause i have the chance to enjoy vintage gems that no-one talks about on you tube.
Thank you so much for watching my videos ! I love to hear about your favorite perfumes and also what they bring back as memories for you. Ysatis is really also a hidden gem from Givenchy, more old school and classy bottle. I love VC perfumes, especially their collection extraordinaire! 😘
@@Aliceinparisofficial i m so glad i found your channel. Love from Greece.
@@φωτεινήκεχαγια-ζ2ι Thank you!
You have done an excellent job with your reviews. Thank you! I owned Ysatis when it initially came out and I must have loved it. At the time, I purchased it at Neiman Marcus in Chicago.I completed the entire bottle. You have refreshed my memory and I will be re-purchasing now.
Thank you so much for your comment and watching my video! Yes, I love Ysatis and it is a great perfume if you don't like sweet and very floral one. It is a very elegant.... It reminds me a little bit of Jean Louis Scherrer!
Again the wonderful choices! Diva and Ysatis. I wish more women’s choices are like these :)
Amarige is also beautiful and it’s good to know you appreciate it.
I wore Diva before and found it too animalic. Maybe because I encountered it during my early perfume years. However, Diva shares the same aura as Coco and Knowing. Splendid animalic chypre!
On Ysatis, I have the newer version and the vintage with the metallic cap. Not much differences and I agree that it’s one of the more restrained Givenchy orientals haha! However I do consider it as a chypre as well. This is also animalic which is wonderful.
Great reviews :)
Thank you for watching 🙏 and your nice comment. Yes, Amaridge is a very beautiful oriental but I wouldn’t wear it.
Diva is a really beautiful one and I picture Monica Belluci wearing a black midi dress and wearing Diva. Probably my next night perfume for the next 5 years.
I agree that Ysatis is more a floral Chypre because it has this green woody note at the opening. For me, it is one of the most beautiful Givenchy perfume. Very very elegant. I can definitely wear this one during the day !
Love your choices! I'm currently obsessed with Diva. It's so alluring and elegant at the same time. I love the bottle design too 😍🌹
Thank you for watching ! Diva is so chic.... so vintage ! I picture Monica belluci in a beautiful black dress with some high heels! I love it !
@@Aliceinparisofficial Gorgeous! 🌹
Again, beautiful perfumes! I just bought Ysatis and I love it.
Yes Ysatis smells so good! Very well balanced... super elegant day and night perfume!
Thank you for reviewing classic and elegant fragrances made by some of the world's best perfumers. I own many of the fragrances you feature on your channel. Jardins de bagatelle by Guerlain is one of my favorites. I discovered it at House of Versailles perfume boutique in Charleston SC about 33 years ago. I also like Nahema by Guerlain.
Hello 🥰 Jardin de Bagatelle was my aunt perfume with Eau de Givenchy. It's a beautiful perfume ! I will do a review of this one. I reviewed Nahema in one of my videos
Thank you so much for your beautiful reviews. Very helpful! I'm a big vintage fan!!
This is interesting … Amarige and Ysatis are both Dominique Ropione masterpieces and he has now had great success with the L’interdit line all with Givenchy. If you research him on fragrantica you’ll see all of his creations. You’ll probably like most of them. I have so many in my collection- one of his best hidden gems is Le Parfum by Lalique. An herbal vanilla that is unique, long lasting and totally addictive😘from Dallas❤
I love Ysatis and Organza but I can’t wear Amaridge… it’s way too intense and mature for me. I need to review l’interdit but the formulation has changed so much over time….I will try the one you mentioned from Lalique I love vanilla perfumes for fall or summer
I own Diva also. I collected a couple of hundred perfumes in the last two or three years. I enjoy them, and I like the variety that I can wear and enjoy.
Bonjour! I love Diva... there is something very old school about this perfume! Like you, I like to collect many perfumes and I switch depending of my mood or the occasion. I also have 1 or 2 signature perfumes I apply.
Mon Dieu, Chèrie, you give me such an inspiration! Because of You I ordered a sample of Boucheron already...I wish, I could sniff Jaipur, too! And now, I m curious about that Givenchy...Dear, what do You think about the Gloria Vanderbilt perfume ? (Very aldehydy, but has Not a lot of white flowers...) Hugs! Tímea
I think Gloria Vanderbilt was my first perfume when I was 6-7 years old! It is not a bad one and smells good, although I prefer First by Van cleef or Chanel n5 but from what I remember it smells good.
Waw just received my ungaro one (diva ) I am amazingly surprised! I love it ! So goood! It smells a bit like jungle Kenzo to me …I love it !
Good luck with your channel, I love your vibe! P.s. I just put the "Ysatis" in my wishlist.
Thank you 🥰 yes Ysatis is such a beautiful chypre…. Warm and yellow with some delicate cooler direction. Very unique
You most to include lanvin arpege (1927) … so beautiful 🖤🖤
Hey thank you for watching ! Yes Arpège by lanvin is really beautiful! I will include it when I buy this one !🥰
@Aliceinparisofficial Only Vintage Arpege .so good one ,my small flacon is vide . But hope Lanvin will make old formula
Another great video!!! Ysatis is elegant as in a woman in Ralph Lauren riding pants and fitted blazer is, not so femme fatal to my nose. Sophisticated, but cool and a bit unapproachable.
Thank you! Yes Ysatis is clean and cold. Like many Chypre, it is very sophisticated and has something very "elite". I left my bottle in Miami but from what I remember, it is clean, green and powdery.
Yesss ! Diva and the bottle was originally in crystal ❤
I like your review really... Which one you think its more animalic between Diva and Ysatis? Also do you have any other favourite animalic perfume that you use?
Diva. Magie noire lancome
The Ysatis perfume is incredible. And like you said the previous bottle was so much more sophisticated and unique like the scent
Ysatis is a very good Chypre. Perfect for work
Just received my Ysatis today. My o my - loving it. I have no past related to this perfume and i can judge on a neutral note - It is a timeless perfume! For me it's slightly like a substle Sicily (by D&G which is discontinued). In cold weather a few spray should do. Glad i got this
Thank you! I am glad you appreciate Ysatis. It is a beautiful Chypre but still niche. I like it too. I do not know the one you mentioned by DG… but curious to smell!
@@Aliceinparisofficial Sicily is more expensive and last even longer. Sorry not good at describing fragrances. You can look it up. Although after properly wearing Ysatis, I realized it's nothing like Sicily - I still like it though.
@@ladytee8361 Both Ysatis and the original Sicily (they have reformulatd it and you can get in from Harrods in London) are lifers for me. As in I find them on eBay or wherever I can get a hold of an original bottle for the rest of my life. But, they are worlds apart, at least to mey nose, they are nothing alike. By the way Ysatis has also been reformulated, so if you want to smell the real thing, look for a vintage bottle on eBay!
@@a2zin125 really? I would have loved to try the vintage but my doubt is how do I know I have the real thing especially since I have no clue on the smell if I buy from eBay ( I have bought a few inferiors in the past from the site) 😔
Long time ago I loved wearing Van Cleef & Arpels - First, Ungaro - Diva, Givenchy - Ysatis, Dior - Poison, and Yves Saint Laurent - Opium. I have been wearing new, modern perfumes mostly. Occasionally vintage perfumes but you can’t just walk into any shop and buy it in person. I don’t like online shopping for fragrances. So with vintage perfumes I really have to go hunting from store to store all over the city.
Hello Sophia, I review First, Diva, Ysatis and Opium. You can find them in my videos. I buy a lot online on ebay and etsy which is the occasion to find old perfumes I never heard about. I recently discovered Murmure and Birmane by Van Cleef. Huge love for Murmure which is extremely beautiful but was not a commercial success (I don't understand). But you don't have the experience you get in a Perfume boutique. I think perfumes boutique are the only shop they can't be replaced online.
@@Aliceinparisofficial I am a new subscriber. I will check out your other videos on perfumes. Thank you for your reply back to me, I really appreciate it. Happy Holidays!
I first wore YSATIS as a freshman in high school when it came out. I also fell in love with Quelques Fluers by Houbigant in high school. I have always appreciated timeless fragrance. It’s more about our personality over our age… we are each so unique. By the way a beautiful inexpensive perfume very very identical to Dominique Ropione’s Ysatis is White Diamonds by Liz Taylor. These are all beautiful.❤
I love Houbigant Quelques Fleurs… love to wear after a luxury bath or for a late rendez-vous… I need to try Elizabeth Taylor and will compare. Ysatis is a beautiful warm Chypre, the only one I can wear from Givenchy with Organza
Hi. I like vintage perfumes. I own First Perfume, and I like it. You describe it well.
thank you so much! Yes vintage perfumes are the epitom of the chic and sophistication. Some of them are discontinued or the composition has changed over the years....
Fist from VCA is really good, i have vintage edt and edp, great for going to sleep
I love Van Cleef perfumes..... Yes First is a very good one.. I don't spray to go to bed. I usually spray natural Neroli on my pillow.
Hello. You probably would like Revlon Charlie or Ciara perfumes. Gloria Vanderbilt, Pani Walewska from Miraculum. Tubéreuse & Néroli / Iris & Néroli from Jeanne en Provence and of course Emeraude Coty who was the prototype for Shalimar
Gloria Vanderbilt was my first perfume when I was 6 years old. I am thinking to review this one because I always remember this super soft, airy, delicate aldehyde and powdery note. I really think it is a good affordable perfume!
Έχει καταργηθεί αυτό το αρωμα; Δεν το βρισκω. Σε ποια χώρα μπορώ να το βρω; Και ποια αρωματα είναι όμοια με αυτο; ευχαριστώ.
Hello no First is not discontinued. But which one are you talking about?
I love Ysatis
Yes beautiful Chypre !
I read that Diva is a Sophia Loren's favourite.
why didi you left Paris, the wonderfull and marvelous, beautifull, misterious, historical, city of Paris?....there is no city like Paris in América
Hi Isabelle, yes Paris is so beautiful! It is just during the shutdown ! 😉
Is your "First" perfume the vintage or reformulated ?
reformulated
Mature floral aldehyde. Reminds me of my dear auntie. In the vein of Chanel No5, Rive Gauche, White Linen, Caleche, Madame Rochas, etc.
I love these perfumes 🥰
