Hi Kieran. You haven’t put a video in a while. Would love to hear an update on the parlour and the progress on milking cows.

Everyday is a school day. I've a 3 span shed for milking. 2 span holds an 8 unit and third span is dairy and machine room.

If you want to get more out of the rape, a day or two without silage won't harm them. I have winter weanling dairy heifers on straight kale for 3 winters in a row 7 or 8 yrs ago. No silage no meal just a bolus. So a day or two between bales to let the wire catch up won't matter to them. Maybe them days drop the meal a bit due to lower fibre.

I know they have broken out only once but the pigtails are a lot more secure with the 2 points in the ground. I know actually what you mean about at least having a routine this time of year.

The plan is to dig out the middle passage for the pit of the parlour. But I'm waiting on a man to call who does farm-yard drawings to walk thru all options with him.
