A true blessing in my life to find this beautiful souls video’s in my early twenties. I know we all have our time, in hard times he really helped and impacted my life with his little RUclips ukulele lessons. Thank you Mike, you are missed and will always be remembered. ☮️❤
Sad to read Micheal passed away. You never know when your final chord will ring. What a wonderful legacy to leave us with, one that will live on for decades.
After two years of learning the basics of the Uke and getting comfortable with chords and strumming patterns I've been looking to take the next step. Now I have it! Thanks for this lesson Mike! I'm so grateful and very excited to practice :)
truely fantastic as always im in the proses of trying to fuse your blues tutorials with your jazz to create easy solo's with a soft blue jazz feall becose im tired of playing covers all the time and i must say you make this very esay to learn thank you
I recently made the decision to switch from just learning contemporary music on my uke (which I have had for a few years now) to picking up jazz and blues and really learning the ins and outs of the genres and to find my ukulele's voice within them. I look forward to learning more from you, Mike. :) Happy strumming.
Hi Mike, thanks for posting your videos, but your recommendation to go to Glen's website was a gem. I have never seen anyone explain the relationships between jazz chords in such a great way as Glen's. It really demystifies this. Thanks for that.
Hello Mike! I've been following you for years. And I wonder how do you manage the chord progression of MISTY on ukulele? Love that melody so much! Would appreciate it a lot if you help me play MISTY on ukulele! Thanks a lot~
@Ikeulele Oh MOST definitely. . . So does Kimo Hussey. . . The low g can give such a sweet mellowness to the jazz sound . . . But in the end its personal preference
Great info Mike thanks..I really want to play Dixieland style on my Banjo Ukulele any suggestions where I can find direction on chords songs etc???? anyone?? :)
Great vid!! Next time though maybe show us with a drawing next to the uke the chords you do it might make it easier to learn instead of figuring out where you place your fingers!
How is it that you know exactly what I want to learn next? I heard some one play at our group's open mic night last night and was thinking "gee I wish I could play some Jazz" AND the very next day there's an email telling me you've done a tutorial on just that!! My you are good! :)
hi everyone ,if anyone else needs to find out about how to learn ukulele try Trefendous Amazing Uke Tips (just google it ) ? Ive heard some decent things about it and my mate got amazing success with it.
It's e very inspirating video, thank you! At the end of the video you make an example with a song: "Look at me...." What's the name of this well known song?
OK, so I got the chords down....but you go too fast through the additional notes and the order when you open the strum.....it would really help if you put up the tabs on the screen like you used to do. Thanks I'll buy the book when it is available! (or the DVD if you have the tabs
I don´t understand Kimo´s intro chords: The fourth of them is five half-steps higher than the second. So since the second is E flat dim, the fourth should be G# dim, not D dim, shouldn´t it - or am I the one who´s dim here?
i think his is a tenor uke, but anyway you cant play it with your baritone because the tunning is diferent in the baritone as it is similar to the guitar
Check out Glen Rose's site and you will find that you can tune a baritone ukulele like all other soprano, concert or tenor ukuleles. Mike's ukulele on this video has 20 frets which puts it into the baritone range. It may be either tenor or bari but sounds like it is tuned gcea.
Isnt this a mistake? D-diminished is wrong, as we need a Db diminished as a substitution for C dom7 there. Db diminished leads to F major. D diminished would lead to a F# major. Would appreciate an answer here, Im beginn to feel really crazy and stupid here ;D But great video, by the way!
I'm so sad to come in here now, knowing that you have left us. But how wonderful that your legacy continues.
Vanessa. Yes me too. I still follow to learn. He's a really good teacher and so patient and so clear. I improve because of his teaching.

Learning to play ukulele from scratch
I was just wondering, How often should the strings be replaced on the ukulele? Great lessons by the way.
Does anyone know if the intro has the full one?
next video could you make playing without spiking ?
You are the king of string
i do believe the king of string is brushy one string

Lord of the dance
Is your ukulele tuned the same as a guitar? ie DGBE
Thank you
Gracias.
Hey, where's your mustache! lol Nice lesson!
your ukulele is consert?
is ukulele concert or tenor?
This is a Soprano Uke? So I wouldn't be able to apply this to my Baritone, I'm assuming?
i think his is a tenor uke, but anyway you cant play it with your baritone because the tunning is diferent in the baritone as it is similar to the guitar
Jean Pollock At 11:07 he plays this progression on a baritone.
