- Yoke Lore - Beige. An exclusive performance for Vevo.
Some performers need to dig deep to pull the music from their depths. Others exude a natural predilection for expression. And then there are the rare few such as Adrian Galvin who truly inhabit their art, who dissolve into their sound. Earnest to the very core, the singer-songwriter behind the electro-folk act Yoke Lore is a born troubadour, the rare type who’s seemingly as comfortable baring his soul on stage as he is tinkering in the studio. Don’t let the handsome baby face fool you: Galvin’s been a staple of the indie world for a minute. He first enchanted blog surfers and playlist hounds with 2016’s “Hold Me Down,” an anthemic declaration of vulnerability that throbbed with equal parts pathos and bass synth oscillations. It was also a gateway to his unique sound, which is banjo driven and sets him apart from similar acts. Then came the definitive “Beige.” Its ascent to popularity mirrored the song’s structure, a slow burn towards something really special; it now has more than 200 million Spotify streams. Since then, Galvin has, in his always poetic vernacular, “climbed a couple mountains toward the world.” His intimate Spotify cover of “Truly Madly Deeply” was also a hit. The Magic the Gathering player even became an ordained minister. At long last, the whispery tenor’s debut album ‘Toward A Never Ending New Beginning’ arrived in September 2023, and he spread the good word of the new music by opening for Chelsea Cutler on her massive 2024 winter tour, which included a show a NYC’s famed Radio City Music call. “I am so proud and scared and my skin feels sensitive and electric. I hope it makes you feel that way too,” he wrote to fans when the album arrived into the world. We’re thinking you’ll have a similar reaction while checking these one-of-a-kind performances of “Beige” and the project’s stand out single “Winona.”

I’ve listened to this song for the first time 2 years ago. It healed something in me. Can’t even describe this feeling. It’s still my favorite song. Such a masterpiece, Yoke Lore, thank you.
Unique as hell
Only discovered this song recently, and this performance is everything. In every way I’ve heard this song, I’m always taken somewhere else. Somewhere beautiful.
one of my favorite songs of all time :)
Yessss this performance encapsulates what a yoke lore show is like, the dancing, the energy, so beautiful👌
I want this song as my wedding song so badly. I want to dance with my husband to it and be as happy as this song made me the first time I heard it
All I could think of was “Please don’t trip over that cord” 😂
