As a boot maker myself I learned from one of the best bootmakers Jay Griffith I was the top department supervisor at griffith bluecher boot company at the age of 21 Jay taught me very well I really enjoyed being a bookmaker did a good job son there are alot of craftsmen out there that are not given their due keep up the good work and pass it on I regret not passing on my knowledge of boot making to someone else
Just to say this now that I was privileged to work with some great bookmakers in my life thank likes of Carlos Hernandez David Ramirez the men never did teach me how to make boots because the boots I made wee genuine Griffith ~bluecher boot company back in the 80's I was blessed to work beside them and will always remember and keep their memories alive not to brag at tha time I was one of the best as young man for reasons out of my control I had to move on even worked for Hammond's boot company even though I quite Griffith Blucher boot company 6 times they never understood Blucher on his method of doing things I learned well just a comment I have been thinking about
Superb job - the soles look better than new, and I have owned Luccheses for decades. Thanks for showing the restoration via Saphir and the use of horsehair brushing.
what an excellent craftsman you are.....rebuilding cowboy boots is a craft unto itself.....ya' gotta pay attention to the boot and how it's constructed 'ta put it all back together properly...Excellent outstanding work my friend....
Fantastic Job man. Im a cobbler in Australia myself and its always nice to see someone do a full resole instead of some shitty half sanded sole job. Good job mate
Nice job on some well used boots. Flip flops are not good for your feet since you stand to do your job. Grt a better understanding there. It is the grandmother in me that is talking.
I have a pair of 1883 that got wet from a leaking dehumidifer bag hanging in my closet. The ropes rolled up where the ostrich drew up. Can these be repaired?
I am familiar with it but not something we really mess with because it involves needing to customize a last and that alone adds to cost over top of resoleing, relasting and everything else in between
@@CobblersPlus Oh boy! I was hoping for something like the "wet & wear method" where you actually submerge the boots completely in warm water, put on a pair of wet socks and wear the boots until they are completely dry. I haven't seen any video on this method so, naturally, i'm a bit worried about doing it myself. Anyway, thanks for the reply. You do an excellent job restoring and caring for these awesome boots.

I've just acquired a pair of Lucchese Classics Handmade alligator boot size 8.5 I wear a 13. How can i find out what they're worth? They are in great shape. They also have initials stitched into the front middle of the boot."
This guy is a hack. You want to see a real artist go watch Bedo’s leatherworks. This guy is unreal. You will find true passion. I just know shoe making I worked for zodiac boots for 25 years. I can tell you this guy has no clue.
Actually Steve and I get along very well and he has watched some of my videos and work and even gave me shoutouts. As for the brand Zodiac those aren’t even worth my touching with Saphir polish

What is something that most cobblers have in common?
There work bench is a mess 😂
Great video
That was a real interesting

Thanks for explaining the heel pry for me (uh, it's named after its job, but I'm a blonde). As an ex-chef, I kept calling it an oyster knife
Oyster knife is not a bad name lol

Thank you very much. Actually the flip flops I wear all have built in arch support that’s why I have no problem wearing them all day
Enjoyed……
Another Great job!
Good film I’d have liked it more if your camera had been closer to get the detail Great boots 👍👍👍

Can these be repaired?
Old boy needs to buy him a new set. The have about had it.
Can an outsole be stitched to a welt by hand? I don’t have one of those machines laying around to stitch.
Beautiful work. Just wondering how much would that cost?
This pair at came out to $240 for the pair
Cobblers Plus Inc. Turnaround time..??
How much for the pair of JR soles by themselves? I heard they were top of the line.
Did you get those boots looking new I can tell
Would you happen to know about the leather boot shrinking process?
I have a nice pair of lizard skin boots that's a bit too loose.

Yea you definitely don’t want to do that with any exotic leather. It will most definitely get damaged

Boots looked 100% better with the light colored sole and heel.
