That was probably the saddest thing I have seen since the opening of the movie "Up". Probably the most heartbreaking short story I have ever seen, as in for the amount of screen time this character got the emotional investment was insane.
Senior Pink is like a self-imposed challenge for him. It's like he thought "what's the worst character design I can think of and then attach a story to him that will make you hate yourself for ever judging him."
THIS is why Oda is the best writer of any manga , you think you see a silly looking character but then Oda hits you with the "Don't judge a book by it's cover" such an emotional backstory that makes you respect Senor Pink as a true man.

One piece is an anime that should be shown to kids in schools. Mr. Pink's story is an important lesson for everyone: never laugh at someone who seems strange because you don't know what he had to face. And like this story there are dozens
An artist drew a Franky and Señor Pink Drinking together and him showing a picture of Russian and Gimlet to Franky. When I saw this, I felt my heart warm and complete, and y eyes tearing up. Both Señor Pink and Baby 5 are such good characters... this arc was full of so many short and sweet flashbacks that made us tear up and fall in love and respect them.
I definitely agree that Law’s backstory was way sadder. But storytelling wise, the way senor pink’s backstory was presented had more impact on me personally. It caught me off guard. Yeah Law’s backstory was drawn out and we already knew how it ended before it all happened in the story.
