Interesting comparison, I’m currently wearing a CRKT S.P.E.W. That is nice and flat and will shave arm hair. You would have to file a flat spot on the spine to strike a ferry rod though.
I find that with a lot of outdoor knives. I’m really surprised in this day and age with the prevalence of ferro rods and their skyrocketing popularity that most knives still don’t accommodate a striking edge for them. Hopefully in the future all knives will have a striking edge, like cars have power windows lol.
3 key important features of the first generation Morakniv Eldris: 1) Compound grind; thinner towards the tip for fine detailed carving tasks 2) Extremely sharp spine; excellent for scraping tasks 3) Sheath functions as a handle extension. Although short, Eldris handle is extremely comfortable and versatile, even for larger hands.
Thanks, I have a love/hate relationship with Mora knives. Some have given me problems and some have been great. The Eldris is one that has been good to us.
I`m not a fan to carry a knife around a neck. It`s dangerous. Especially if you use strong cordage like paracord but even shoelaces can be used to strangulate, choke you out or break your neck. In addition to that somehow everything i hang around my neck gets in the way sooner or later and if you intend to use ot for self defense or a different way fast and one handed you probably can`t get to it.
Non-issue. Only a schizophrenic would actually think a neck knife is a strangulation risk. You have probably never in your life been in a situation where somebody or something was about to strangle you but didn't because you made the choice not to wear your eldris
@@onseki1774 I don`t know what a eldris is. As for the rest. I was in a airborne unit and they forbade us to do this. Paracord "cuts" through flesh. I have seen it when jumping. As for the strangulation part: Happened a few times. Don`t project your iillness to others.
It’s hard to beat mora when it comes to value.

I think I'd prefer the Izula even for food prep, because of the longer blade
That's a nice mater 😊
Thanks!
My ferro rod striker can slice tomatoes ? Mind blowing & thanks .
And fingers, so please everyone be safe out there.
@@ModernRefugee My bad humor & lol .

I’ve got a variety Moras, but I’m not sure about the Eldris.
Good comparison though.

Never really been a fan of the Eldris, it's too small for my liking. Never come across the Izula.
Good exposure and comparison.

Yes, they should have some type of breakaway.

They describe how to tie a slip knot in the Eldris manual.
