I did the mod where you flip the main rotor holder thing up side down then flip the blades so they are right side up like you did and I got that tip from you thank you it helps the stability so much ! great vid!
Just got one, flies great! I've been in the heli hobby for about 24 years and this is one of the best heli i have every flown for its price. I have about 27 helis so far. I think your opinion on this heli is absurd!
nice stuff ,, i mod mine heli ,i take of the metal stabeliser and cut them on both side's the same way , and put shrink tube on it , it wil be flexible ,and in air it gives more brake jump when you move , test it it works great , also on the smal ones ,the brake fast , greatings
I made a big mistake of paying $140 for this heli in a shop in town. After purchasing I looked one ebay and found it for $59.00 but My fault for not researching them more. Ive done the lower blade lowering already. Ordering the new balance bar. Love this chopper but hoping to get more out of it by watching your's and other you tube mods.
The balance bar for DoubleHorse 9077 can also be purchased at Xenonprojects and they are great...they have a motion-activated color-changing LED on one weight that turns the blades into a light show!!!!
Rear rotor upgrade can fry the chips on the circuit board. Upgrade can be done but recommend not using the rear rotor control for more than 20 seconds continuous..
good video btw. ive seen a few of theses videos and allot say to also add a small wieght to the front. so, what i did was i bought a 720p mini dvr cam (about 30mm square) and added it underneath at front which did the job for weight and now i can make videos while flying

I would recommend the 9113 or 9116 DH helicopters if you don't want to have to mod something to get it to fly right. I'm modding my 9053 now but wished I knew this ahead of time. The 9053 is going for 39 bucks online, theres a reason, there crap without fixing what the factory screwed up.
No problem I have had mine a few months and still trying to get it to fly right. The radio has one "trim" slider on lower left which doesn't even move. Whether or not its sposed to move, last time I remember using it, all of the sliders moved, and today when I took out the radio, it didn't move at all. Have to invest in a better radio.
@chuchoteclas No! It will completely ruin your controllability!! It's too heavy!! I've had great luck with the 909 key-chain camera. It costs about $17 dollars if you want to wait for 10 days. Mine fell out from about 30 ft., broke into 6 pcs. Piecing it back together I found it still worked...&&& the vibration from the motor was gone from the video. It actually worked better than when it was new!! So I suggest taking that camera apart and unglue it from the casing to reduce vibration.
I agree. Seems like a lot of effort and money on a coax...trying to make a silk purse from a sows ear. May as well keep it micro for 3 and 4 channels until you have the £'s or $'s for a collective pitch. imho
these are great starter helicopters,twin rotors versa, a single rotor with a tail rotor.You don't have to deal with the long learning curve ,due to the tail rotor compensating for the rotor torque,which believe it or not is pretty difficult for first timer's.So learn on a twin,then try your skills on a single.
Jason, Why not just shift the battery forward for better CG balance instead of gluing weight on? Why not two small sheet metal screws for each tail rotor blade and adhesive? How can you use two motors for the tail rotor? I'm confused about that part! Great idea of using the model 9077 flybar...ordered one today...cost $8 but at least they have them in stock as well as the attachment collars.
While yes there are some issues in wind I've been flying mine in wind for the last couple days and I'm not having any problem outside of normal control issues that Any Heli will have in wind
how did the mod on the tail rotor work? and post a video of it please, i am interested in seeing how you did that. i believe that if it did work that it would help with the much needed power in the rear of this heli.
Hey I was just thinking, instead of the super glue. Maybe contact cement will be better? just an idea that came up. Only thing is that you will have to be dead on when installing the part because it wont come off after that. No room for error. again just an idea. : )

My lower rotor is not spinning anymore... the motor on that rotor seems to be working ok just something disconnected during a wreck and I'm having a hard time figuring out what's wrong.. The top rotor is working ok. Any ideas?

Hey, could you please add a video in which you would show how to change a gyro in 9053? Many people can not unassemble this pin which holds gyro. It is often stuck.

i also found the problem ,the blades somthimes wil not go round even , i checked it on higspeed cam ,, because they are not going in a spin the same time the metal bar spins ,, it brakes a milisec and that causes the hit on the metal weigth , and hits the next spining plade below ,, and locks both motors ,and drops , the bar hits it because of the space below and the blade is not covering it , when turning ,they bend back but blades bend more , when giving more speed they wil stay straight
should i replace my balance beam this is a reason my balance beam struck the bottom blade twice and im afraid not to fly in wind so now i dont even fly my helicopter even in the lowest amount of wind why i all of a sudden brought up wind it happen in wind when i was trying to keep flying forward and not let the wind take it away

I like all the mods except adding weight to the front. Why add weight, why not mod the battery holder to use velcro and adjust the battery slightly further forward.

i cut a newly tail rotor blades and tried super glue, and 3m double sided tape. neither one worked. both failed after a few flights. ima try apoxy. if this doesnt work i think is best to leave it alone.
now I can not set the rotation to one spot the heli either continues to spin ,if I set it nearly to stop spinning it will start spinning again ,it wont lock into a trim to stop spinning. what is the fix for this? pioi double horse heli.

I own one of these you can buy a bigger tail rotor with motor upgrade (ebay) every time you glue your adding weight you have to move the rear fin with the one I got as its that much bigger for anyone having issues with the controls being back to front cut the wire from the tail motor and swap them around way hay now it goes the right way the main blades are dirt cheap from china (ebay) what really pi$$e$ me off is theres no quick release to change the battery it a pain in the ass I bought a spare to use would welcome a battery change upgrade im thinking instead of canopy screw a r/c body quick release pin with some sort of holster for the battery (currently stuck down with tape and clamped in) has anyone tried moving the battery forward (putting the weight further forward) instead of sticking stuff all over it ? personally id prefer a cam in the nose cone

You obviously dont read the internet or the youtube videos, this thing is tail heavy and flies backwards which is why people move the batteries, replace the tail rotors, and the radio is cheaply made. If they fixed the problems, good for you! Most stuff made in China is not tested for quality and sold by the millions. Let me guess you work for the company too.
Yeah but its garbage, I have had mine and the thing is tail heavy, the rear rotor blades are not wide enough to help with lift. It wanders backwards during flight even with the trim settings, have to move the battery under canopy forward to get the thing to not be tail heavy. The radio is cheaply made, the antenna screwing it in the screwhole strips very easy! It's garbage, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Without modding it sucks and I don't know if I'll mod it if its not worth the money.
yes i bought one and i regret it, the dammed thing won't fly in ANY type of wind! I've done almost everything he recommends and still it is a worthless heli, not worth the 49.00 or 59.00 I paid for it. Next time I buy soon a single rotor so I have articulated blades to go forward and back and I'll spend my money on a heli that does what it is advertised to do. This heli is totally misrepresented by the sellers and manufacgturer, THIS IS NOT AN OUTDOOR HELI! Not stock, not with 200 modifications
I'm not English. I bought a china-copy of these hely for 25,-E.I thote it is bade copy ? But I see the same problems with the "originals" ? It's not for outdors. It's goes- where wind goes ? Indorse it's O.K. but who has hall ? Regards.
Done every Mod to mine that you can do,basically it IS NOT a stable heli and not good out doors and a poor design in my opinion, I wont buy another ever and I never flown it in any kind of wind!

Wish I'd watched this before I flew mine. Great tip on the canopy weight...ultimately mine went into a tree from that problem, waiting on parts now...

im tv electronist- if you put two motors on the tail, that will increase current consumption and fry the transistor or ic it run him.

movw the battury forward instead of adding weight to the front. i did this by puting some velcro on the battery and moving it forward

@jasonus03 i used loctite super glue on mine and it works fantastic, i've been flying mine daily for a month and have had no problems at all.

Have two of these and neither tail rotar spins. At what point does the rotar kick in? Heli fly's great, but no response from the tail..

are you sure you mean 15mm ? that's alot smaller than the old once
get a over correction landing gear set and put on a gyro kit

Done every Mod to mine that you can do,basically it IS NOT a stable heli and not good out doors and a poor design in my opinion, I wont buy another ever and I never flown it in any kind of wind!

No! It will completely ruin your controllability!! It's too heavy!! I've had great luck with the 909 key-chain camera. It costs about $17 dollars if you want to wait for 10 days. Mine fell out from about 30 ft., broke into 6 pcs. Piecing it back together I found it still worked...&&& the vibration from the motor was gone from the video. It actually worked better than when it was new!! So I suggest taking that camera apart and unglue it from the casing to reduce vibration.
