The advantage of a car that had been on the market for a while is they have worked the bugs out. Reliability increases each year of a generation. Also, Change for change's sake doesn't help anyone. The Mazda6 is perfect as it is.
That’s a good take on it. Thanks for sharing. I guess I’m typically geared for a sales volume idea. The shiny, new object always gets a shot in the arm with sales, and is not usually as reliable. My thought is while other brands are discontinuing cars altogether, since Mazda has a great vehicle...they should spruce it up to increase market share and attract more buyers.
Agreed. If it isn't broken, don't fix it. I love the look of the M6. The rear design might be a little boring but all the goodness is up front anyway. I just got a GT Turbo and am loving it.
Great review. My parents just bought the same exact car just with the black leatherette interior. In their case I believe this car suits them well as they prefer a sedan. They love the fact that the Mazda 6 has all the features but is also simple in its layout. They keep their cars a long time and I have no doubt that this car will serve them well. Well done Mazda.
Finally, a camera used that doesn't distort the beautifully designed Mazda 6. All these reviewers are using funky cameras that make the car look rounded or truncated or both. Thank you! And unless they come out with the concept car, Vision Coup, why mess with perfection? My 2016 silver GT still draw stares and compliments. Most importantly, I still get giddy whenever I see it in profile. Love my ZZ!
I’m a current owner of a 2015 Mazda 6 soul red Touring, I wanna stay with Mazda and I’m really hoping they add the AWD to this, because if they do then babyyyy I’m SOLD ‼️💯
I have a 2018 6 gt and love it. It's hard for people to fall it love with it when start your review by saying how old it it. This car is aging very well. I support taking longer to redesign cars. That way I don't feel like I've wasted my money.
I understand what you’re saying. My point is that other manufacturers have shortened their refresh cycles and doing that attracts attention and new to the brand prospects. Mazda’s longer cycles are almost like keeping their awesome vehicles a secret.
I got a 6 touring, red soul, a awesome car. The only problem is the paint (beautiful but very fragile) i had some problems with paint chipping, I took my car to the dealer and they fixed, they repainted the whole hood and fenders
@@JSS 2020, I bought the car on July 22nd, only 4,000 miles on it. The dealer filed the claim and was approved on 2 days, they repainted the hood and fenders, they told me the paint is very soft, they applied a4 stages paint. I hope this fix the problem. I really like the car.
I personally think that the current design of the mazda line up fits the mazda 3 more, but I dig it for mazda 6 as well. Also machine grey is just classy. 👍🏻
@@JSS thank you. It’s different from polymetal grey. More conservative on machine grey, but that’s what I like. The ride and manual transmission are great. Happy holiday to you ;)
@@jayespi37 anytime ;) the ride quality is great. I don’t know if Mazda will kill manual on 2022 because nobody buys it. I have seen 4-5 manual Mazda 3 in my area sitting for over 2 months and not sold yet.
I have had numerous mazdas over the last few years. Every single one of the My 2016 6 and my mazda 5 windshield has developed a big crack. Had it replaced and cracked again. I see a lot driving around with them cracked. What is going on with the windshields?
Jonathan, i'm your colleague - work in Mazda dealership in Russia. Very interesting to view Mazda in your local US market. Many different things in grades\options in that Mazda 6 concerning our local Mazdas. Keep goin to make a new review on upcoming models.
@@JSS unfortunately I don’t make reviews, but it will be possible to exchange our Mazda experiences. especially since we operate cars in winter at temperatures down to -30 F))))). maybe have a whatsapp or telegram number, so I can sent you some fotos of actual cars, interiors and our showroom.
Jonathan, I have stayed away from lighter interior colors due to the fear that they would not age well. I have heard that blue jeans causes blue marks on the seats of light interior cars. Can yo do a video of Mazdas that have been traded in to show us how they look after 100,000 or so miles.
I will be glad to. I’ve been thinking about filming a how to on cleaning the parchment or white leather. I really just am waiting for the right vehicle that will be easy to show on camera. I’ll also keep my eye open for 100,000 mile cars. Coating the interior also helps. We have several options for scotchguarding or ceramic coating.
I wish mazda wouldnt stop making the 6 because this is a great looking car. this is one of my buying picks for next year anyway. reliability has always been mazda's top priority
It may be long in tooth design wise, but compared to the Accord, this is a much more sophisticated design with beautiful styling details throughout! I’d pick this over ANY of its rivals in a heartbeat and it’s a pity the Mazda 6 is so underrated and overlooked.
My covetous eyes keep me coming back to vids of this Mazda6, still hopeful it will return in 2023 or maybe 2024 so I can get join the Mazda bandwagon. I'll take mine in red with sand leather interior, please. Hehehehe!
I have a 2018 in the same color. I get nothing but compliments all the time about how nice this car looks. I wish they would have updated the infotainment system as its quirky at times.
I always thought OEM fog lights were just for show and I'm okay with that. Modern headlights have such a sharp cut-off, I don't think fog lights are operationally necessary.
No , very high quality but the 2.2 diesel certainly has been a reliability disaster . Replace those low profile wheels & tyres with 16 or 17 " full rubber , so quiet & smooth . I have a 13 year & hope one day to find a recent year low km one ~

Yes, I’m thankful Mazda has no plans of discontinuing sedans. I feel it is a necessary vehicle for society still.
You know john. this one of the reasons why i love mazdas . its their lights..all leds front and back..love it
I just got a deep crystal blue 2021 Mazda6 Sport for Christmas, and I love it. I wanted the Touring, but the Sport was in Santa's budget lol. 🎅

Love the Mazda 6 but the infotainment system is a bit outdated compared to the new system in the Mazda 3/CX30/CX-5
Still no 10 inch screen like the CX5 upgraded?
Nope, that will probably be in the next body style.

For some vehicles, and some climates they are not. Which is probably why they aren’t offered on some vehicles any more.
So what year Mazda is releasing the new car body style?
Fall of 2022 is the last info I have.
I love my 2020 Mazda cx-5

How much are these vehicles?
I like the original 2014wheels of the 6, they look much more elegant
I don’t remember those. I’m sure they were nice.
so they did not do anything to it?? at least they could have give it a bigger screen with the new interface like they did on the cx 5....sad
Have slight changes on certain models, but not the Touring.
8" screen? Most have 10 to 12" What happened Mazda??
Mazda!
We always love Toyoya
Toyota offers a good product, and Mazda just passed them in reliability according to Consumer Reports surveys.
No arm rest. Why???? That thing that passes for an arm rest is BEHIND you. It's horrible. I use arm rests all the time.
It's too dark. please shoot during the day.
No different than last year's model, apart from some small changes
Correct.
