Influencers and social media is blowingup the spot and drawing to much attention
Yes they are!
If they don't want "certain travelers" coming to their country, just say so! But they are greedy! They will tolerate you (for your $$$) but not accept you!
Great post, thank for the comment.
The people in positions of authority have said exactly that! The mayor said he wants a different type of tourist and his actions are louder than his words. Evey person in a position of authority picks his or her words very carefully in today hyper sensitive Uber politically correct world, so you won't get a direct don't come here or there. But the limiting of behavior that has become unwanted speaks louder.
Sosua is to small to be a Medellin
Yes it is. Thank you for your comment. Please subscribe.
Just keep your money in your pocket and DON'T go to these crappy places to get robbed or WORSE
I agree, but we both know that won't happen. Haha
Exactly - would be great to see the federal government get on board and aggressively enforce this ideal. Sadly, the mayor is promoting the weekend warrior lifestyle
Sosua is just fine it's too small of an area to have crime like scope hit that town there are 5 police departments sitting right in sosua
Thank you for you comment
& there is very little crime in Sosua
I agree with that. Sosúa is very safe imho.
Sousa isn't the whole Dominican Republic. Medellin and Cartagena are much bigger city's. Is not first that's happened in Medellin ,that person just got caught. You can't close your business down because of a bad apple The people in Medellin have to support they're familia.
I don't see Medellín shutting it's business down. Just the business they are at odds with and the market that creates negative content on social media.
The USA and many other developed and rich countries have low end and high end prostitution like Las Vegas, Nevada.
Don’t think everyday will feel like vacation once you live there permanently.
I have been doing business here for 15 years and have lived here for 8. Thank you for your comments.
@@CompaiExpatChannel my comment was directed to the spectators not you. I see videos like this all the time and I also travel internationally. It’s not just Colombia or DR. I was agreeing with you.
Sorry about that, I misunderstood. Have a great weekend

If you’ve visited sosua, why move there. Move to puerto plata. People know exactly what they’re getting into if you want to live there.
If you truly know Sosúa you will understand the 300 feet of Pedro Isn't all that Sosúa has to offer .
@@CompaiExpatChannel Facts. If we’re being honest, most “new” comers get the idea to move to “Sousa” because of that small hot spot on Pedro.
Street hookah was rsmpant in the 1980s in the Times Square area until Mayor Guliani intervened. However, the issue of prostitution persists due to its legality in Colombia. The recent attempt to shutdown short-term Airbnbs will also be affecting the city's economy. There's concern that closing certain areas will simply shift the problems elsewhere, possibly to the LA 70 area, there's a problem to begin with, drugging and robbing tourist but the mayor's actions turns a blind eye , instead of addressing this , he is victim blaming.
The mayor of Medellin is serious to say the least. Now all bars closing at 1am, no working ladies in all 3 parks en Poblando. Let see what happens. I am expecting a very good spring and summer here in Sosúa. Thank you for your comment.
@@CompaiExpatChannel can you make a Soshua hotspots walk-through videos ?
Thank you for your comment.
I disagree. The unlicensed Airbnb's are affecting the quality of life for the Colombians. Just like here in Sosúa. The mayor closing them down and forcing them to follow the law is correct. When a vise is that in your face it is not a positive thing. Just because it's legal doesn't mean it should be broadcast all over social media and accepted how it is being represented now. Medellin as a whole will survive and thrive without the whore mongers , if the plan is to stop it all together. I doubt that will ever happen. The bars and other places that cater to the whore mongers will have to adapt or go out of business if the crack down continues. . As I was told long ago. Do whatever you do, just do it with class, the issue is the way the monger areas are being represented is classless and that is drawing the wrong attention in so many different ways. Parque Llares and downtown Sosúa used to be places for all people. Not just mongers. Now they only really cater to one crowd. That is not progress, that is regression.
Just my 2 cents. Be safe.
@@Jepi369. I strongly dislike the creep cam videos and this is why.. Many of the people on these videos don't want their business made public. Yes they are in a public space, I get it. But remember, lots of these chicas don't want to be working the streets. ( Some truly love it) Most don't want their families to know what they are doing. The families are not nieve but they won't address it until it gets thrown in their face. A family member being on a Sosúa creep video causes issues for the chicas. The creep cam videos are not popular with the locals. I have been doing business 15 years in Sosúa. I value my relationship in town with the Dominicans who live a normal life and work a normal job. If I acted like an ugly gringo and disrespected their town I would lose face.
For real si its problem people renting cheaper problem it shows that that these areas a lot safer than them wat people put out.

Fair and balanced take on all relevant issues... immigrants or "expats" in any country in the world should follow the rules and adapt to the 'culture'.... make it easy for urself...
