This one was really a lightbulb moment for me. More Matriarch videos, these are gold.

And this is why my Matriarch is the most inspirational, versatile, and all-around phenomenal thing in my studio in the last 20 years.

You folks are seriously the best at providing your own tutorial videos. Thanks so much!

Best explanation of the filters and how to manipulate them individually via utilities. I almost wish I had a third utility section for Matriarch!

Clear and helpful explanation of the 3 filter modes that inspires me to experiment, and a great lush sound at the end modulating both filters separately with different waveforms.
    Thanks, Moog!

Good info - thanks. I continue to be impressed with how much can be done with the Matriarch’s relatively simple controls.

Fantastic! I love seeing these videos! Keep it up and anything across the Mother line, heck any of Moog's products!

Brilliant video! Definitely gives me ideas on how to use the filter on my Matriarch Dark :)
Bonus points if you solve that Rubik's Cube by the next video!

thanks for this video. I think probably 99% of us are only using the stereo filter mode?

Moog Music Inc would this be useful w/(In Tandem) Erica Synths Syntrx as only having one Filter?

...this is a great filter demo, thank you...but wait, how is it you are achieving a drone with the seq/arp hold button, rather than drone switch in the VCA section? Is your Matriarch modded to remove the drone function, thus eliminating the oscillator bleed that is apparent in the VCA?

No, it's just a different approach to holding notes. The drone function eliminates the EG's control over the VCA section, and instead generates offset voltages to always keep the VCAs fully open before hitting the delay, which is maybe what you're referring to as oscillator bleed. Using the hold button instead keeps the EG engaged, allowing you to use the sustain slider to set the level of the drone pre-delay.

Lol thank you this has been confusing me. One thing making me hold onto my model D is I have a hard time getting a sub bass sound with the matriarch hopefully this will clear it up.

I dunno why yall couldnt just have given us 2 knobs. Love my Matriarch tho

Room on the panel maybe? Or perhaps something more advanced that we'd patch into the chain? I also assume with a semi modular there's an assumed patched "way" of doing something that I haven't found yet that impacted design.

Because both filters follow the big knob cutoff point. The spacing knob specifies the space between the 2 filters. after you set the spacing you can move the big knob around and have both filters move at the same time but retaining the distance

In the left utility section, if you don't patch the output of the top attenuator, the output of the bottom attenuator will mix the signal outputs of both attenuators like a 2 channel mixer.

      @@MoogSynthesizers That's very interesting.
Will try some patches out with that. Thanks for the explanation :)
