- Geoff turned up at the old farmhouse with a bunch of duck & geese decoys, some goose jerky, and something his dad Theo had made for me. I took him Kayak fishing in the morning and we caught a feed.
Cheers Clay.
Those junkie jigs are 🤘🏼 man .
A beautiful day in a beautiful part of the country, with a mate and a nice feed bonus . Hey Grab your self clay a c tug kayak trolley, they are nz made easy to take apart easy to set up , they are excellent on soft ground and stones and saves your back . And Will look after the bottom of your kayak . It is sure good to see fish stock numbers improving especially snapper in this region i think with careful on going management and environmental management I hope that generations to come will enjoy good fishing
I do actually have one somewhere mate
Who says Pigs don’t fly.......looks bloody great. Still loving your lifestyle you are my ray of sunshine in a winters lockdown Uk, 😊
Yeah that pig is flying high thanks to Geoff and his dad Theo
Great video mate. Glad you put the wind vane on the farmhouse 🍺🍺
Brilliant mate just good to see a down load 👍🏴
Well done, a good mornings fishing, love the weather boar mate.
Yeah that weather vane is a beauty
Hi clay good to see ya out there doing it maybe use bigger hooks 5/0 or bigger should stick the sticker to ya lifejacket lol
You always make the best vid mate
I try
Clay what I have done is used tipped correction fluid and mark the top of my rod from handle to the rings with measurements. No matter what happens you always have a size guide with you.
I like that
Hey Clay I just cut a couple of nicks in my kayak to the measurements of the legal size then I just size it up right next to me keep the keepers and release the panies 👌🏻
Nothing will stick to the polyethylene of the kayak. Scratching the surface will help things stick a bit but I would use a paint pen to mark sizes as everyone else has suggested!
Good stuff lads! Awesome as always !!
Hey Clay you need to put out a floater rod with larger stips of flesh bait 6 or 8 inches no sinker in that shallow water and catch some of those nz monsters cheers and cool vids
You are right. We call that a stray line and they do catch bigger fish. I have been running one just recently
stick the measure on to one half of your paddle - bit of glue to keep it there :)
Not telling you how to suck eggs Clay but mark the measurements with permanent marker on your kayak near where you sit. cheers mate good fishing
good tip
Fishing on the Zambezi river when I was a lad if we hit a shaol of tigerfish they would all be roughly the same size, they are cannibals, only the really big tigerfish would swim alone.I wonder if snapper have similar habits.
They arec a school fish
you can stick that measurement on your paddle. i mark the measurements on my kayak, rod and paddle thst way i always have a way to check. I only mark the main species
another gr8 vid missing Arb tho - thanks clay
Me too mate
thanks man
Kia ora bro clay 2meke alright you tbe man 💯 solid hardest to matua clay be good to if not be careful alday everyday to
🤙🏾🤙🏾
you ripped the heart out of that kahawai before it bleed out, it was still pumping when it went back to the ocean, new rule- if i take a fish, its pumping heart can go home
FISH ON!
Yeah you should put that thing on the roof pretty cool, also how's Bruno doing i haven't seen him for a while?
Bruno is going well with extra fitness training for his next mission.
Number 8 wire mate
Gday mate. Long time.
@@ClayTallStories yea mate, been a bit down on the dumps with all the shit I got going on and haven't really been bothered watching RUclips but glad your video popped up on my phone, was bloody good mate
A heat gun will make your sticker stay on better- heat it up.
Now that's a good tip
Do they not sell ChapStick there, no it is not lipstick. It is for men, women, and children, it protects the Lips. Keeps your lips from getting burned or chapped.
Yep. We have them. I just was silly
Cut it down and stick the ruler to your paddle
I’ve done it on mine
Cheers
Try using a lighter jig in the shallows, like 30 grams.
Gidday mate how ya goin', .. I'm cream crackered mate'.
👍
Can you give me a shout-out for my birthday jan 30?
Its the 31st here in NZ HM125. You birthday has already been but HAPPY Birthday any way mate
You need to try putting your burley on the bottom especially if it’s shallow with good current flow then you should slay up some bigg doggs
Another awesome video, is it possible for a farm house update please.
Yes, soon
Farkn hell geoffs teeth are brighter than my future
Haha
Hey bro with regards to the minimum 25cms, if you can find a wee nylon or wood chopping board that will fit in the bungy section between ya legs (handy) just mark it on the bait board for quick reference, regards Matt
That's not silly mate
Awesome Clay. What a great day it was indeed. Thanks again for taking me out. The wind vane looks awesome. I see you've already used it to go on your Kontiki trip. I guess the boar always points it's nose into the wind! On another note I got 8 geese yesterday so I'll make sure I save you some goose jerkey. After all it's not bad chomping and chewing.
I loved that last lot of Jerky mate. It went real fast
No tall stories bro, hold em upside down and they usually calm right down. I never use a rag I clamp them on the gill plate for release and hold them in the gills for keepers for the bin. Nice to see you out there catching some therapy. Take it easy bro
Can double up on this one clay, works like a dream.
I second this, hold em upside down and they chill right out.
U can cut the sticker so it’s only the ruler and numbers so it’s smaller and sticks
Yeah I did just that mate. It fell off lol
Good day Clay, awesome to see you fit and well, great trip and thanks for the invite brother, have a great day and best regards to all the family, Tony.
Cheers Tony.
Use a vivid in the side easy to get off I you need to I just copied the measurement chart that way
Clay you should leave the burley in the bag and give it a few cuts down the side of the plastic bag.
Great vid & I relaxed along with you. Correct name for the Boar/arrow thing is Wind Vane, or at least, it’s the important part there of. A lot of thought went into that for you, Clay. Place it on a pole where it can be seen from the kitchen window, & ascertain whether it’s a good day to go hunting or fishing :-)
Yeah I am using it all the time. Heaps better than looking at the tree tops trying to work out the wind direction
Awesome clay, cheers mate
Clean your paddle and cut your measure to size and stick it on the shaft of the paddle
Bloke's on bloke's!
I think you would enjoy Willem Power Fish then mate.
