@@richardmorris7063 new plan is to drive it for a couple years and just enjoy it as is, then bag it and get a couple of things sorted out. I’m scared if I start something I’ll go all in and it’ll be sitting in the garage for a couple years until it’s all done.. “while I’m in here” kind of things😂
I've had a 1961 for almost 40 yrs. Stuff would not work when she'd sit for awhile. Then after awhile it would all start working again!! This car is over all in EXCELLENT condition!!! Great purchase, hope you're gonna keep her stock. Fewer & fewer originals are left & the stock sedans are really starting to climb in value.
😂 yeah it’s definitely has a mind of it’s own! About keeping it stock.. Me and my wife talked about this and the plan is to leave it alone. It’s definitely not something I do with my vehicles, but it’s just to nice of a car to cut up. I’ve gotten more looks, compliments, and people walking up to me all over the place and ask me about the car just the way it is than any of my other cars.
Beautiful car ❤ love it ! good luck with restoration, YOU SHOULD KEEP IT ALL ORIGINAL, for future generations to see. The color is absolutely fabulous, a classic color. Thanks for sharing 😊
Trunk lid typical rust area. My 64 is starting to do the same as yours . I love the opera doors! You may not have a black windshield washer bag located in the engine compartment on passenger side. They often leaked and people would throw them out as they did on my 64. Your back seat courtesy lights. Each one can be turned on individually. Press the chrome square next to the light. Its actually a button. Like your correct whitewall tires with the gorgous wheel covers. Your car sits as it should. Dont mess with that. Many put crazy looking wheels on them and they look like crap. Keep it original as Lincoln had intended it to look.
😀 Wonderful video, Bro! 😀 Thanks for the walk round 😀 it looked like your screen wash bag was missing. Your inner high beam lights may not be working because there’s a problem with your electronic valve relay circuit, which takes about 20 seconds before you can switch beams. Lovely looking car - I also have a 1965 lincoln over here in England🇬🇧 and I’m intending to keep mine all original. 😀 Your rear window that doesn’t work sounds like a dirty switch, but your other window sounds like the drive pad from the motor has disintegrated. You can get a new one off Amazon! 😀 The central locking is all vacuum run off the carburettor vacuum, so the rubber tubes may have perished. Thanks for your vid, Bro! 😀
Beautiful Continental. When I was very young, my grandfather, who was a plant manager at Ford, drove a new Continental, Mark III and Mark IV throughout the 60’s and 70’s. He was issued a new lease car every year. The year he retired, he was driving a fully loaded, dark green 1976 Thunderbird. I loved those Lincoln’s even though I had no idea what it meant to drive a luxury car. When I was 4 or 5, my favorite place to sit was on the folding rear armrest. It was the only way I could see out the windows. The only thing he really had to choose every year was the color. A few years when a family wedding was approaching, he’d pick white so the car could be used in the wedding. They just don’t make them like this anymore.
BTW headlights: the inner lights are the high beams. The outer lights are low beam only (or that's the way it should be). The washer button should automatically trigger a few swipes of the the wipers. If it doesn't shut off it may have a leaky valve somewhere. Wipers are hydraulic off the PS pump.
I got the lights working. They were just burnt out. I haven’t messed with the washer switch yet. My blinkers are going out. They only work for a couple of blinks and then quit working until the car sits for a day or two.. weird haha. But that will be my next to look at.
@@ModdedProjectsGarage much nicer than the 2006 Lincoln Town Car Signature I had until I had a car accident in October 2020 even though I liked the car, I like Lincoln so much I decided to buy another in June of this year.
you've probably resolved all of these, but,.....yep, wrong fuel pump, but never had an issue with mine vapor locking. neutral switch sounds bad. Fix the lower steering column bushing before that thing shifts into gear when your just standing there. Over all, that's a nice car!!
Fan Shroud: Nope there wasn't one. My dad had a 64 when I was a kid, they didn't have a shroud at least on the non-AC version. He drove the 64 almost 300,000 miles and it never wore out. He sold it due to a charging problem the Lincoln dealer couldn't fix. Turned out later it was just the alternator! These are absolutely amazing cars.
change out your single bowl master cylinder to a double bowl master cylinder, because when you loose your brakes on a 5500 pound car there is no stopping it. I know this because i lost my brakes on my 65 lincoln and it was the scariest thing.
The body color is a beige. From what I could find I think it’s called desert sand. Interior is beige as well. I really like the color of it. Something different than black or a bright white.
Hope you undertand the amount of work and dollars, MAJOR dollars it would take to rehab this. I say restore it to original, though it is not mine. If you restomod, less is more. Seen some really great slab Lincoln restomods whers they backed up the Brinks truck, but they were muted touches, where many things were upgraded, but they kept the basic aesthetic of the car. Dollars? You could easily drop 50k on the car and 80 percent chance much more than that.
Original as it sits Is amazing but these cars when bagged or lowered in any way makes them look like it was the one thing missing from the factory. I bet the first drawing of this car more resembles the lowered look that usually never gets put into production due to it not being practical. So in long answer- YES bag it.
That’s the plan for now. The car attracts a lot of attention just the way it is. I’m slowly cleaning it up though. It need a few things done to it cosmetically yet. Slowly but surely 👍
Should I Bag it or Leave it?!
Bag it if you're going full custom.

It's beautiful as it sits, not many around like that
It's just about my favorite car . I'm 65 from Detroit . Beautiful !
From Bloomfield hills . Rode in a few of these ...
Thanks . Just gorgeous....

We had one growing up - it was a beautiful turquoise with turquoise leather. Just fantastic. 65 was a great year
She's a beauty. As Jay Leno would tell you "Original And Unrestored" Good luck with it.
Wonderful car! That dark beige or sand really suits it well especially in a warmer clime.
That is a beautiful color for that car. So rich looking.

wonderful car. I love ths car. here is Renato from Brazil.
Omg. My dream car! Beautiful!
Beautiful Lincoln.
Nice car. As far as under the hood. Cars without A/C don't have a fan shroud. Looks like a nice original car.
Handsome Lincoln
Thank you!

Love the Continental in the Godfather of Harlem, paint yours black beautiful
Great find!
Thanks!
That's it I'm getting a Lincoln
That's beautiful!!
The park brake releases automatically when you shift the transmission from park to drive or into reverse.
Heard bad things about that fuel pump but knock on wood.Lovely car, clean her up!
Thanks! And no issues with the pump yet 😅
Why lower it ? Just leave it alone. Keep it original.
Yup still have it as is. I had a vintage air installed so far and that’s it. Just cruising and enjoying it!
@@ModdedProjectsGarage that’s good. It’s a great looking car

😳 Me too! I had mine fail and my adrenaline shot through the roof! Fortunately I got control shifting down gears and the rear brakes could stop him! 😀
What color is the body and interior?

😂😂😂my American dream car , love from Kenya 🇰🇪
Awesome! I love seeing this! Cool to see where people are watching from 👏
Nice get A/C
Love the car!! Most of the trim pieces are stainless not chrome just saying... I would definitely do wheels
Thanks for the insight! Completely new to these cars. It should all polish up good then 👍👍

Nice original car. Do you still own it ?
Thank you! Yes, I still own it. Only thing I’ve done to it was have the vintage air a/c put in it. Just driving and enjoying it!
Beautiful timeless art on wheels. Amazing condition. Please don't put 20 inch chrome wheels on it. You can't improve on the way it looks.
I agree. I had plans when I first bought it, but I just want to drive it as is and enjoy it. It’s too nice to do anything to it

I suggest full restoration with a black body paint.

I’m very serious, are you looking to sell ??
No. Please don't bag this beautiful car. I cringe when they bag and thug out these beauties.
In effect Toyota took this carriage, this rather fine carriage, and made a Century.
Keep the white wall tires and original wheel size it's a classy car Keep it that way don't ghetto the car out
Keep it original

I'd leave it original, and just fix what is not working, plus rust repair !!
BU TEE!
PLEASE DON'T WHISKEY TANGO IT OUT WITH WHEELS.
GOD ITS SO CLICHÉ AND EMBARRASSING.
😂😂 yup keeping it stock! Other than the vintage air A\C of course!
Wheels!

whats the price of this car?
