I absolutely prefer the matte finish of the Bambu Lab PETG-HF over the Elegoo. We don't want our cheap plastic parts LOOKING like cheap plastic parts. LOL Great comparison video!
Completely agree with you there 😆 I just wish there were more color options, but the ability to suggest new ones is pretty neat, something i think Polymaker also does. I appreciate the support!
I have printed some 20kg of the petg hf, and I believe the less messy process is the biggest advantage compared to the old bambu petg basic. Much less prone to stick to the nozzle and lower risk to mess up long prints.
I think the biggest issue is that you're basically compromising on the benefits of PETG in terms of ductility. That said, the PETG-HF seems to be basically PLA but with a 69c temp resistance vs PLA at like 35 lol
Thanks for the comparison, I was really curious if there was any big differences between the two. It seems like really it comes down to sheen and colors. Bambu's PETG HF has more of the colors I like to use for my own items so I'll stick to that for most things. I just grabbed a bunch during the sale so I'm set for a while. The lake blue is really nice. Congrats on the channel growth and the new printers! 🍻 Happy printing!
Thanks for the video. Perfect timing i will soon transition to PETG for the first time and this helped a lot. My P1S is on its way and i may be browsing for a few Bambu PETG-HF rolls to come along with it. I also prefer the matt finish over too glossy
Do you or Anyone having issues with Bambulab Refil getting stuck on the side on the spool while using ams? Or is it just me? Have had that issue on several spools so far
The only issue I’ve had is the Bambu seems to be more loose so the filament is able to move around a bit more when compared to the Elegoo, which is more tightly wound and even so sometimes it will get caught if you aren’t careful when mounting it on the reusable spools.
Good stuff! I haven't actually gotten to use any Bambu Lab filament yet, but it seems good. I've been surprised how good the Creality filament I've had is. Can't say I have a favorite brand yet, but maybe Tinmorry for their PETG-CF and Siraya Tech has some awesome stuff, though mostly higher end filament. Their 85A TPU is too awesome.
Have you tried the eSun PETG+HS ? That's the only PETG+ I've tried so far, basically because it works well. It would be interesting to see how it compares to these though. Cheers!
Another cool video. These are so close it would boil down to how they look. I like the less glossy appearance of the bambu. Right or wrong I pick a lot filament based on color. I find some manufacturers colors are kind of washed out. Strength has not been much of a factor as of yet but the more I get into this I am sure I will become more of a concern so the information in this video will come in handy. Cheers from the 802!
Just sent in my first FBA shipment about 3 weeks ago and it still just say delivered. I’ve been waiting awhile for them to receive the inventory and was wondering how long it usually takes for Amazon to process your shipments
Once the inventory has been delivered, it will go through processing and should become available shortly after that. I know i usually plan for around 3 weeks from the time i send stuff in, but that can also depend on where you are sending it and how much product you have. Stuff should be available to purchase at this point, but you won’t see the prime delivery tags and dates until it has been fully processed and accepted. My last delivery was prime ready in just under 3 weeks.
Thank you for another great video. For the Bambu PETF-HF did you use the default settings? I have only done PLA for years but am going to try out PETG now that I have a P1S (instead of my Ender 3 Pro)
I did at first, but was having some isses with cooling on certain models. I ended up using my profile for the Elegoo PETG, and that is also the profile I use to print the Anycubic as well. Turns out they aren't all that different, although I do think the PETG-HF could benefit from lowering the nozzle temp 5-10c.
FBA question I noticed you have vine reviews on your items can you talk more about that. How you handled the Brand recognition to partake in vine program as I know you said you use generic as the brand. thanks
It may be included in the professional seller account. I'm not entirely sure though, as I didn't have to do any brand recognition setup, and just I told them im selling items that I make and produce in house.
Have tried 4 different PETG. Bambu HF, the previous Bambu PETG, Creality CR Series PETG, Overture PETG. By far the Bambu HF is the weakest (printed great... so major disappointment) Overture is tough but harder to print. Frankly liked the previous Bambu PETG better than Bambu HF. Overall have had the best results with Creality CR Series PETG. For reference have X1c, A1, and FLSun T1Pro. Really could care less what the brand is as long as it works. Use a variety of brands of filaments.
I appreciate you sharing your experience, I’ll have to add those to the list of filaments i try. That was definitely the vibe i got from the HF was it felt overall less dense and not quite as durable. But the application for the product doesn’t seem like it will be something that causes it to break
@@TheMountainMaker or try asking the IRS if a car company gave you car to review, and you got to keep it, if that would considered a form of payment...
End of the day.. neither.. HF filaments are created by reducing the melt point, which negates 99% of the purpose of PETG. Here in FL I cant even use HF PLA, as even just taking it to my market booth in the shade, in any part of the the late spring/summer/early fall, it would soften and become pliable in peoples hands. HF PETG, can do the same as its glass transition temp is reduced to nearly that of PLA.
I have multiple spools of elegoo petg hf and they are sticking to themselves on the spool in random spots. They have a white residue around them also. Not buying that crap ever again because at this point it’s not even worth respooling these. This has been my experience and a warning to others.
I've been using it without any issues as far as that goes, but I am only a few spools in. The only “issue” I’ve had is the Bambu seems to be more loose so the filament is able to move around a bit more when compared to the Elegoo, which is more tightly wound and even
The filament profile I used actually was calibrated for the Elegoo and is the same profile I use when printing in my shop. I simply used that same profile to print the PETG-HF, as the stock settings from Bambu Lab for the HF did not work with my A1 or P1P for some of the tests I performed, such as the sander holder, where the overhang is a bit tricky. The Elegoo, Bambu and Anycubic all performed great using the settings I have setup for the Elegoo, but the same part on the same machine using the Bambu PETG-HF profile does not come out great. I messed around with them a bit and finally decided to use the profile that I use for everything else and it worked great. If you haven't seen any of my previous videos, 95% of the filament I use comes from Elegoo.
I came to that conclusion a while ago. I mainly use the black, white and gray rapid pla and Petg just due to the sheen on them. That said, i print with the same exact settings for the standard pla and it makes absolutely no difference in how it prints.
You have got some good content and I do certainly appreciate that. However, the answer to your question is……. China. China is the clear winner here. Not only with your filament, but also with your printer selection.

Science right there!
I do like the matte finish of the PET-G HF.
me too
Looks like a winner for production items. Thank you again for the info and the video.
Glad you found it helpful!
Honestly the Bambu refillable spool system makes it worthwhile for me. Better spools. Less waste. Cheaper filament.

Great video! Love the fidget cubes. Use them while I'm on calls 😂
I found you can knock the shine down on the elegoo petg with a wire brush.

The white marking on the print surface are stress marks can be removed by taking a flame to it.
I thought so too at first, but they follow a layout of a previous print on the mini
Have you tried the eSun PETG+HS ?
That's the only PETG+ I've tried so far, basically because it works well.
It would be interesting to see how it compares to these though.
Cheers!
I have used their standard PETG but i haven’t tried the PETG HS variants yet
I've been running Elegoo petg Pro in the AMS lite as Generic Petg HF and prints come out very nice imo
Great video! Question: are you going to make a video reviewing and using the A1 mini in your shop?
For sure! They are awesome little machines! I definitely have something in the works for that! Thanks for the suggestions!
I have my first roll of bambu petg coming thanks for the video

Tbqh i'm loving bambu filament lately, esp since the price is comparable when you buy 8+. Nice stuff!
Totally agree!
elegoo is $95 for 10 rolls/no tax or shipping. Bambu is $12.99 a refill plus tax. That's a big difference when buying a lot of filament.
The Matte finish also helps hide imperfections. I’m sure that was intentional 😉

So are you giving the FL Sun printer back? If not,.then you did get paid.-.getting free printers is a form.of.payment..
Tell that to my electric company 🤣

Fair point…. I appreciate your feedback! Now If only we could get that car review arranged 😁💸
All of your videos are winners. I think I will stay away from any shinny PETG.
Thanks! I'm glad you find the videos helpful!
PETG should be ductile. This HF PETG is not. It’s more brittle. I prefer the old Bambu PETG. But it’s not selling anymore.
End of the day.. neither.. HF filaments are created by reducing the melt point, which negates 99% of the purpose of PETG. That is a valid point! I've yet to encounter the same issues in my area but that is something to consider.
🍿
Bambu looks better

Without calibrating the Elegoo at all, this isn't a great test. I've used dozens of rolls of this PETG and it's fantastic and pretty tough.
The filament profile I used actually was calibrated for the Elegoo and is the same profile I use when printing in my shop. HF filaments are nothing more than a marketing gimmick, just like lidar on bambu printers. They serve solutions to problems that didn't exist.
I came to that conclusion a while ago. I mainly use the black, white and gray rapid pla and Petg just due to the sheen on them. That said, i print with the same exact settings for the standard pla and it makes absolutely no difference in how it prints.

Absolutely, and I’m very interested in sourcing my filament locally and currently researching the best options for doing that now
