Lee Evans got a lot of criticism over his English accent. Thing is, he's English, but that's not his natural accent. He's an English actor doing an impression of an American doing a posh English accent.

To me, he's more famous for defrauding the state of Mississippi for millions of dollars of TANF funds (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) . That's the legacy he deserves to live with.
Behind the Farrelly brothers' ludicrous, often tasteless - but hilarious - gag fireworks hides a romantic comedy with terrific actors that not only lives from the schadenfreude, but also from an ensemble of quirky characters. The actors clearly enjoyed their roles. I still have to laugh about this incredibly funny comedy as much today as I did back then.

mary has the gift and curse of effortlessly and unintentionally making every guy think she's into them because she's attractive and caring, they're not the type who are used to such attention from pretty girls, so she has all these guys thinking they got a shot meanwhile she's got a list of things her guy has to have and no one will ever live up to it, a lot of women have such a list, eventually a person like mary meets a guy/gal who shows them that their list is just silly words, I guess you can call this kizmet where the timing was off when they first met but eventually you'll meet up again and it'll works out, so many find their true love after they had a terrible first or even second marriage, we're the same people as adults as we are as toddlers..I mean that personality is noticeable even the first day we're born..but everyone matures and finds themselves at a different pace I wrote a lot haha

You really need to check out Harold and Maude. It is a dark comedy made in 1971, and it is truly a one-of-a-kind masterpiece. The entire score was done by an artist then known as Cat Stevens
Ahh, the 90's was a golden era of movies! While you're at it, you really should check out "Very Bad Things" from 1998, its like the godfather of dark comedy, also starring Cameron Diaz, truly a classic 😂
1998 had some great comedies, the wedding singer, rush hour, half baked, the water boy, rushmore.. Kingpin has a similar humor feel (both Farelly Brothers films)..I think it's even funnier.
He was also playing the part of an American putting on a fake English accent as part of his ruse to get the girl, so the fact that his accent wasn't convincing makes perfect sense within the movie.
