Great interview!
Thanks for watching 👍
Haven’t heard this much in depth analysis about the 90’s war ever… loving it!

Larry’s book is absolutely amazing, I’ve read it twice already and it loved it both times.

this was awesome. tom real nice work on this. i like that you steered this away from just hearing the larry mazza story again by asking different questions. very cool.
Thank you Patrick
Didn't think this channel had much of a chance once the older videos went down. Congrats on keeping this channel relevant and having great content.
Thanks for giving me a chance, the channel actually grew a bit with a lot more to come
I love hearing about the 3rd colombo war. To me it's crazy that these dudes were driving around Brooklyn hunting people. The mafia guys back then literally were living in a differnt culture and set of rules then the rest of the country.
Nice to see you go back to some good old NY Costa Nostra content Tom.
a lot more coming, stay tuned
Love all kinds of mob content from RUclips to TV to books and am very versed in the topic. And have to say that this has to be one of if, if not the number 1 interview I have seen! Loved every second of it and gave much deeper understanding of the 3rd Colombo war and the minds of people that were involved better than anything that I have heard or seen. Great interview by both of you. Great questions and amazing answers. Keep it up.
Thank-you much respect 🙏
Always enjoyed chatting online w Mr. Larry! Loved his book too
thanks bud
I highly recommend Larry’s book “The Life” to anyone interested in the subject. Best Mob book I’ve ever read. Another great one is the book on Al D’Arco.
Mafia Prince by Phil Leonetti' and the Philly Mob isy favorite.
Great show Tom! I thought you did a good job of asking Larry questions I had never heard him answer before. Most of us mob fans watch all the videos available on RUclips and it gets old to hear interviewers asking the same questions over and over. You did a great job of pulling some new material out of Larry! Great show keep it up!
Thanks Jackson. Will be doing part 2 shortly
I totally agree - these questions run a lot deeper than most of the other interviews, so thanks!

I've caught several Larry Mazza interviews including this one & he's pretty cool! He's definitely another one that comes across as honest & relays some interesting stories.
Great comment Michelle 👍
An honest mafioso killer?? Please!!!!
@@queenviviene4110 Never said he was a saint. He admits to pretty much everything he’s done though.
Larry, you didn't do well in school? Well kickboxing is a former of schooling and probably a lot more practical and useful in the long term than some the stuff taught in schools. Reading and math excepted. Incredible how literacy allows one access to so much information that literacy might operate as multiplier mechanism.
Would like to hear more on Gregory scape jr and his life 🙏

Hey Tom another question to ask is how much was Greg worth? Because after he died his family was broke. Also Joe Waverly would for years even before the war tell everyone that Greg was a rat. Why didn't scarpa try to kill him years before the war for him saying that.
Because Joe Waverly was just as vicious as Gregory and Joe is a real Tough guy…Still till this day..
the war could've been avoided Persico had 139 yrs I understand that. but vic amuso got natural life and he been boss since his conviction in 1992. with out blood shed
Great comment 👍
Vic Amuso held onto power without bloodshed 🤦♂️ are you crazy?
Him and Gaspipe ordered scores of killings plus Vics order to "whack jersey" which was made after he was locked up aswell as other murder orders he gave after being locked up...im sorry but this comment makes zero sense to me.
Tony F from Parkside has a picture of Giuliani in his restaurant and has actually been a pillar of that block in Corona for like…Basically generations with his family and actually won a community award in Queens..
Thanks for the comment Mike 👍
That was a great question, Tom, asking Larry how his father and Greg were similar after asking him how they were different. You may have some makings of a successful statesman, lawyer, or military general in you.
We speak of empathy (different than sympathy), and in the life sciences it is viewed as a form of mind reading. But I recently heard a lawyer become RUclipsr (he likes cigars like you) negatively critique US politicians in this current event. He said lawyers are taught to have "strategic empathy" when battling a case against their opponent. Basically, they use empathy purely out of selfish motivation to try to understand their opponent, attempt to predict their next move, or discover weaknesses in their armor. Your question humanized Greg Scarpa while not sympathizing with his life of crime and treachery. Another RUclipsr, an American in Ukraine, was criticizing a former US Marine with lots of advanced college education, who in his view lacked the ability to properly read the message the Russians sent with that hypersonic missile. He basically was saying people obedient in all ways to the thought establishment lack a certain "strategic empathy" let's call it and reduce Russians to irrational animals that just "behave." So speak of their "behavior." When they don't behave as we think they should we conclude they are irrational. I heard a ex-CIA guy on Joe Rogan use that "irrational" line. No, you got out manuevered by your opponent because he likely has far more empathy for his opponents here in the USA than you all have for him and his countrymen. You think demonizing him or them and only judging their behaviors, and if they don't take your bribe money like Judas the Betrayer after all your threats and peacock strutting they must be irrational. I only bring this up to juxtapose (I think that is the word I'm looking for) you against say... Nancy Pelosi or most imbeciles on Fox News like that former cop Bongo or whatever his name is. You could do a better job in Congress than Nancy Pelosi.
Thanks for the compliment. I try ask questions that I’m curious about and come to mind
@@NewTheoryMagazine, maybe you can set up a workshop and teach Pelosi that. Larry can assist you and teach the Vice President how to answer questions that don't sound like she's speaking to first graders. And the streets and mafia are the only place corruption exists. I'd almost rather be led by John Gotti.
@@NewTheoryMagazine, I'm going to tell you a story. The conclusion will end in irony. But interestingly enough members of Cosa Nostra made short appearances (real life) in the story. The setting is in Waukegan, Illinois. We from Milwaukee were doing a job down there. At a big plant. I won't name which nor the details of the work but we were subbed out. In a gangster lean in a vehicle with a bunch of white guys around him, clearly the men surrounding him were showing deference to him, was Cosa Nostra. This was a long time ago.
But we get off work one day. We buy a bunch of beer to drink on our way back to Milwaukee. The guy I was with crashes in major traffic in the car in front of him. We start throwing beer in bushes. I had been in the passenger seat. The Waukegan cops arrive. Long story short (the car was borrowed by the way) the cops turn to me after questioning anyone. I told them I was in the passenger seat. They asked me who was driving. Long pause. Everyone is looking at me including the cops. I weigh my options. I finally respond, "I don't know who was driving, I just got in the car and did not look." One cop threw up his hands. 😄
So, what is the relevance? Ironically as I ride passenger seat in the country of the USA, in this case I honestly have NO idea who the hell is at the wheel of this car.

He was made. Only thing was that he was told they MIGHT have to do the ceremony again after the war when the family was reunited. He was an integral part of the war on the Persico side and had to be made toward the end as he was meeting and having conversations with real heavyweights in the Colombo Family.

What are you talking about that John Pennisi didn't come from the life? He completely grew up around it. Just because he didn't have family members who were in it doesn't mean he didn't grow up around it
Meant direct family lineage - father
Pretty sure he said he was a typical wannabe growing up. Thousands of kids were surrounded by it in those neighborhoods didn’t mean they became mobsters
One thing that Larry said that might be incorrect…that Gaspipe wasn’t selected or groomed for Boss. I believe Tony Ducks actually selected Casso as Boss to replace him when he was sentenced to prison. From what I understand, Casso turned it down because he knew the kind of heat it’d bring. That’s why he became Consigliere instead. However, it’s true that there was some devious action by Amuso and Casso bc they supposedly had Buddy Luongo killed, the guy who was truly expected to replace Corallo.
Great comment
A lot of that stuff came from Casso's own book, so take it with a grain of salt. If Casso was so worried about heat, why would he take an admin position at all? You're getting the same heat being in a top position close to the boss.
@@bigdc202 I’ve never read Casso’s book, so I am not getting any information from that. Al D’Arco mentioned this situation in a documentary and said how unsure of himself Vic was when he told Al he was the Boss after first obtaining the position. Casso would obviously want to be in the administration to be able to pull Vic’s strings.
@@jimmymcgill8412 D'Arco did not mention anything at all about Casso regarding the boss position. Regardless of where on the internet you read that nonsense, a lot of this embellishment is from Casso's book. Vic and Gas were joined at the hip, and most of the surveillance pics of Vic had gas right by his side. The whole story of Gas turning down the position because of heat makes no sense whatsoever. It's nonsense.
@@bigdc202 cool, you know it all, thanks.

I like Larry but has anyone else that was in the life confirmed that Larry was a inducted member cause there seem to be some that dont believe his story about being made in a prison toilet if i domt remember wrong. Just curious
Jordan, you are correct about some being made in the bathroom but left out those who are being made over the phone. Mine was a bit less lackluster, although, not what the movies lead the public to believe. It was done after an historical Persico faction meeting. My partner Jimmy and I were brought in and Greg became official capo for the first time ever, just so we could remain under him. There needs to be witnesses to this , and there was, just like when one gets upped. A third party has to be there when the soldier is told he is now a captain. We had witnesses and were introduced to many, although not that many because of what was going on. We even took a long drive to Leavenworth so Greg Sr. could introduce us to Greg Jr who was our official skipper and have it on record that we remain under the Scarpa's. Greg Jr will be on my show at MOB TV and he brought that trip/meeting up. Besides, what do you think Greg Sr. was grooming his right hand man, and "best friend ever" in THE LIFE to be??? Thanks for the comment. I hope my answer helps you understand the situation. It's all in my book. www.larrymazza-thelife.com
