The only value here is the potential for cheap custom uppers. If the computer can produce any upper according to the foot of the player, it could change soccer footwear forever-at least for those of us without a sponsorship deal and custom cleats.
I'm not sure exactly what material these strings are made from (Spider silk I guess? 🤔), but I think that it's an OUT OF THE BOX idea. Maybe the strings would lead to increased shot power, increased durability for the boots or something else I haven't thought of. What concerns me is the hefty price tag (UNJUSTIFIED), and permeability (NOT OK). So, would think twice before I go for these.
Spider silk? What? How about polyester coated in plastic that is then mushed together with heat and pressure. Also how exactly do you think strings lead to "increased shot power"? There isn't a gap between your foot and some tensioned string that acts like a trampoline. This isn't innovative at all - this doesn't solve a single problem a football player has - it actually creates problems (like a foot absolutely soaked in water which ironically actually makes your shoe+foot heavier despite the claims of a "ultra-lightweight product"). What adidas did was find an insanely complex and expensive solution to a simple problem (making a football boot) and they pass on that cost to you (for $350). And as someone else pointed out, their best players still wear the best and most simple solution for making a football boot - leather. It's a marketing story and not even sure that's very good either as the product doesn't even back it up.
@smooveXXX I don't know what the people at the company were thinking. I personally am 💯 for a regular and comfortable pair of leather boots (and I do have it). That innovative (or maybe not so innovative) overpriced pair they're hyping up is just not for me.
This looks like adidas telling Nike to keep their Flyknit patents and doing something new and different after settling the Flyknit vs Primeknit patent lawsuit.
There is FlyPrint which Nike used on their running shoes for years now, so I don’t think it’s that. They probably know that such a material makes no sense for cleats, especially in Europe where they wet the pitches before a game most of the time.
I think Strung+ is a brilliant and innovative idea, but if adidas can mix the crazyfast upper with string+, then some of the problems might be fixed or reducing the scale a bit. Otherwise, it's an amazing concept!
I like the concept but, I don’t think it’s practical for actual playing. There’s 0 padding in them so if you get stepped on, good luck walking… also the fact that absorbs water is so bad you’d expect that from something that costs $5 not something that costs nearly $400 plus their durability takes a serious hit since it’s just strings glued together… that doesn’t look like it’s gonna last long anyway For concept 8/10 For Reality 2/10 Price 0/10
On the getting-stepped-on comment, I do agree that thin boots suck to get stepped on in. But you can say that about 60-70% of the current boots out there given how thin upper materials are today. That's not just a Strung thing. In fact, the X Crazyfast+ is even thinner than Strung, and there's an argument to be made that a lot of people - myself included - find them good enough to live with the tradeoff in protection. /Jay
Actually, I think it may be the opposite. I think that these strings may be purposed for increased durability and reduced weight, but it's the boot's permeability that concerns me so much.
All im concerned about is protection obvsly their not built for protection but i wonder how painful it is being stepped on compared to other speed boots
BS or in another words - Horse Manure. When you play real games and get stepped by cleats with full weight on your foot several times during the game. However amatuers who never played would definitely buy them.
i wonder if someone could come up with an stl so we can just download it in our 3d printers and have the soleplate attached somehow separately instead of just chargig 350 for a prototype
i need help with figuring out which boots i should get next mercurial vapor elite 15 or x crazyfast.1 laces im a winger who is looking for speed comfort and freedom and good touch on the ball which boot should i get @unisport
That’s why I did a comparison with the X Crazyfast+ where there’s not the same amount of space. The two heel constructions should be the same on paper at least, and I was wearing the same size in both. So there’s a difference, whether I have thin ankles or not. /Jay
I understand. I feel like most of Adidas' recent boots are too narrow in that area. I'm kinda pumped at the extra room. Great video. As always. You da best. @@unisport

All these high tech expensive innovations gimmicks but messi an adidas athlete the best soccer player in the world is still wearing leather upper
And we don't get them 😭
@@ePhoram because its basic and boring

When they put out the strung running shoes I just knew that the tech would be adapted to football boots.
can you do something actually different like an asics ds light review
Should do a "step on boot with another boot test"
Btw they also did this with the adidas Boston 12’s originally
when you know keeping a spare pair of Boston 10 is the right decision
350 usd is quite the price though

One thing i would be concerned about is durability, do you think it would wear faster than a normal upper?
Probably, they come already with holes in them
Actually, I think it may be the opposite. I think that these strings may be purposed for increased durability and reduced weight, but it's the boot's permeability that concerns me so much.
They are a very unique boot
thanks for the content 😁
Question ... adidas predator .2 or tiempo legend 10 pro?
Let me know i dont know which to choose.
What is the longevity for the crazy fast, they sseems like a few games wonder.

Is a new lineup from adidas or just a special edition of the crazyfast
Adidas need to bring back Hybrid Touch skin. That’s the best upper ever made along with mercurial vapor x . New upper suck

Doesn't it rip out when you shoot from the front
I wonder how they keep the upper consistent from shoe to shoe
If I order from South Africa how long will it take before I receive my order?
is it good for wide foot?
Adidas be stringing us along 😂

I hope Crazy fast got Futsal too

To be fair, the negative space around the ankle is probably the result you have rather thin ankles. No offense.
