Madiera is basically the Portuguese version of Hawaii (no wonder many of them immigrate to Hawaii). I'll put this on my bucket list because it's so beautiful!
I have vacationed there and will again. I can highly recommend it.
I live in Madeira and it's not the Hawaiian version of Portugal
@@leonorgouveiayoussef3742 I agree. I have vacationed in both and Hawaii has it's own unique climate, environment and culture.
Geologically they are similar because they are volcanic but culturally it is quite different, since the Madeirense people is totally Portuguese, Madeira was uninhabited when the Portuguese arrived unlike the Hawaiian people, which has undergone a process of strong transculturation that has practically made disappear the Polynesian heritage of the Hawaiian people.
@@nandofigueira2005 Yes and probably why the island has such a good energy. The Portuguese made a fresh start without the conquest, genocide and mass deaths which is often the case with European colonization. I would imagine it was a struggle to survive over many years but this is what makes a strong and loving people.

Os madeirenses a nível nacional vivem muito melhor que no resto do país , com melhor qualidade de vida . Salário ? Nem no resto da república se há um salário fantástico . Porém , na madeira tem havido um aumento significativo e melhor qualidade laboral. Quanto ao preço das passagens realmente é um entrave gigante tanto para aqueles que querem regressar a casa como aqueles que nos querem visitar .
Posto isto , os residentes na ilha da Madeira vivem bem e muito melhor que no resto do país.
@aenarion WPcl Madeira has been the winner due to the hospitality and the quality of the hotels and its services. It's not just about the landscape and the beach. Balearics and Tenerife I'm affraid but in that sense are not better than Madeira.
I was in Madeira Island in 2018, and since then I have been sincerely in love with this beautiful island. Keep showing the beauty of these paradisiacal places.

Our island endemic forest and the sea life are missing in the video - perhaps something to look for next time you're here on the island, ... hey Amazing Job!!! It's a wonderful, beautiful and safe place to live and, of course, to visit. You'll never get bored!! Still a treasure in the middle of the atlantic ocean.

WOW...so awesome! I just got my first drone and I now appreciate your videos and the effort you put into them even more. I got goosebumps watching that part where you are walking along the narrow ridge path. I was born in Sao Miguel, Azores in 1960 and left in 1967. I just went back there for the first time last year (also Lisbon, Porto and Douro region) and fell in love with it. Your videos help me relive our memories and also make us want to buy a place in Sao Miguel or Lisbon :) I'm more then ever proud of where I was born :) Keep the videos coming :)
Thanks, Manuel!! It is a lot of work to learn how to use a drone let alone finding the right angles to fly and shoot :)! That hike was truly incredible! We have never hiked anything like that. So mind blowingly beautiful! Especially from the drone perspective!
I understand why you are proud by where you come from. Portugal is a gem in so many ways. I hope you are able to retire in Lisbon or Azores. Both places are terrific for that! :)
@Carlos Saraiva Yes, I still speak Portuguese after leaving Sao Miguel 52 years ago. I don't have many Portuguese friends but when I speak with my parents, it's in Portuguese (with some broken English :). I'm a little surprised that I can still speak it fluently. It was actually a good test when I visited Sao Miguel (also Lisbon and Porto) recently and had no problem communicating. I have heard of The Portuguese Kids and love them. Most of their comedy is exactly how I was raised :)

They used to have a nice platting on top of Pico Ruivo, sadly it was blown away in some sort of storm some years ago.
