VERY IMPORTANT thing you may of forgot to say is BEFORE you take it for a drive you MUST pump the brake pedal to make sure calliper piston pushes up against the new pads, I know of someone who forgot to do this, all nice new brake pads but the car was a right off lol
Brilliantly put looks very easy gonna try and do mine this week I wasn't gonna try a garage told me 120 quid now I know they was definitely gonna rip me off. Thank you really helpful
Great video can I ask when you push the calliper back in place to allow for the new pads do you leave the cap off the brake reservoir or does it stay on done up
Hi i wanted to buy a 2009 -2012 Vauxhall corsa what is the highest mileage j should buy one on. Please let me know i am about to buy one it has 70,683 miles it is the 1.2 petrol 2008
Very clever to use these pliers. Do you know how wide your pliers' jaws open? I am looking to buy such pliers and wonder if 50 or 60mm jaw opening is enough.
Smart to just take off one bolt instead of both!. Although it's better to use the right tool for pressing the piston back in the caliper cause it should rotate at the same time as it push, so you don't get the problem with harsh caliper and brakepads that rests on the disc.
@@aaanton11 Thanks to you too! It might take a while before it shows but if you do it regulary it might end up in the annoying problem with warm rims thats caused by a harsh caliper that doesnt let the piston moves smoothly and move back as it should. Think the tool cost around 15 -20 dollar. Great video anyhow! will helps a lot of people!
I liked the video but when you took apart the pads the inside had a long clip for inside the calliper piston and you did not put the same new pad with it on
Some have the metal wear squealer plate on the pad, so the brakes squeal when they are worn down you can see the plate on the pads in this video at 2.43 Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
@@aaanton11 ? i wanted to know what side the brake pad with the metal peace go's on ...i just did mine and it was on the drivers side face down at the back ..so i put the new pad the same way on the same side ( divers ) ..maybe it don't matter what side it go's
Hi. I have just changed my wheel bearings, hubs and abs sensors but for some reason my brake pedal feels rock hard and unsafe to drive. Is that because of the bearings or because of the pads and brake disc. Also abs sensor has come on and took it to Kwik fit to double check my work but all of a sudden they don't deal with abs and didn't even check my work even though they would. Also how does pushing the piston back on brake section helps with the pads. Sorry about all questions but don't want to and can't afford to splash out hundreds of pounds for a mechanic to change the stuff I just done even though bearings hub r brand new. They said they would have to charge me for all new parts. Cheers so much in advance if someone answers. 😊
Sounds like your brake servo pipe might be disconnected, that will cause a hard brake pedal, and poor braking efficiency, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Tried to do the wifes car today but the bottom bolt is just spinning. does that mean the bolt is snapped and will need drilling and re-threading?

You do not need to turn the piston as you press it in at all- thats only on rears on cars with rear disc brakes for the handbrake.
Cheers mate 👍
No problem 👍 Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Some brands vary slightly, these fitted well, as long as they fit in the calliper hanger snug you will be ok Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Not a fan of using the grips to depress the piston 🙄 caliper unwind tools are cheap enough
Does the same job on the front, rewind tools are more for the rear, Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠
Big set of beaks work a treat - rewind tools are for rear caliper pistons because of handbrake.
You only did one ...
I thought you might get bored if I showed you the other side as well as it is exactly the same Thanks for the great comments👍🏻👍🏻🛠

Any idea what length the 13mm nuts are that hold the caliper on? I’m sure you can guess what’s happened 🫣🤣
