  • In this video you I will be showing you how to change your motorcycle oil. This is on a 2007 GSX-R 1000 but will basically be the same for all bikes like this one.
    Things you need:
    - Torx T10
    - 11/16 socket
    - 4 qt's of oil
    - Oil filter
-An oil filter wrench or belt wrench (I recommend both).
    Tips:
    - Let bike run for a few min to let the oil warm up so it will flow better.
    - Check drain plug for metal shavings.
    - A jack might help the las little bit of oil to come out.
    - DO NOT use the oil filter wrench on the new filter because it could
    damage it.

Thanks. Your video was informative and has armed me with confidence to change my oil. Probably after I have watched the video a few more times.

Thanks. I'll be changing my own oil for now on. I have a Pit Bull jack and a chock the keeps the bike upright. Plus I have a rubber belt wrench in several sizes. They charge me damn near $160 for a full synthetic oil change. The stealership can GTFOH with that.

dude, do not torque the sump nut so much, its only there to hold oil, with no pressure. quarter turn after finger tightening is all it need. you dont wanna ruin the thread. for tight seal, use copper or aluminum crush washers.

I run the OEM Suzuki oil so I do not have an answer to that but if anyone else has any oil suggestions, I would love to hear.

I’ve always used Mobil oil full synthetic 10w-40 as long as it meets the specifications, you don’t need to get EOM because is much more expensive, the only OEM you need to do, is parts.

Is it necessary to pour oil into the new filter before installing it?

InfinantGamers you do not have to pre fill but I reccomend it but you REALLY need to lube the filter ring.

You DO NOT put oil in the filter, most just pours out and it is not necessary.
