    1. Human occupation is complex
    Occupational performance is the interaction between human, task and the environment
    2. The person is made of of three components namely
    - volition: motivation or drive for action
    - habituation: patterns if behaviour guided by our habits and roles and how they fit in our environment
    - performance capacity: ability to do things
    Volition
    1. Interest- what someone enjoys to do
    2. Values- what one finds meaningful and important
    3. Personal Causation- one's sense of capacity and effectiveness
    Habituation is patterns of behavior that integrate us in society.
    Habits: automatic behaviours in familiar settings
    Internalized roles: behavior to fulfil our social identity and role
    Performance capacity is our ability to act. It is influenced by objective and subjective factors. E.g. mental, physical, experiences, musculoskeletal, neurological, physiological systems
    Environment can be physical, social, political, cultural, economical. It can have a positive or negative impact on occupational performance
    Occupational performance : actual act of doing
    Skills
    Occupational performance
    Identity
    Participation
    Competence
    Adaptation
    Examples of assessments: Occupational Self Assesment (OSA), Worker Role Interview (WRI), the school setting interview(SSI), MOHOST Self-Assesment, Modified Interest Checklist, role checklist
