the retail price of this guitar was almost 4 k in Usa and 5 k in europe pretty close to a custom 22/24 so i don't uinderstand why every body is assuming that is in the same cathegory of the mira,s2 or CE not core models...probably some ignorants owners?thank good ness they are growing up their price and it is fair....if a custom is 3 k second hand and new was only 300 dollars more expensive why i must sell my beloved and great swamp ash special for 1500 ?it is absusd...

I was never a fan of PRS guitars but I really like that one. The Super sounds wonderful! Looking forward to seeing what you do with the guitar. 👍

“‘wide fat” neck is definitely the best neck. I have a custom 24 and a Holcomb and a SE from 09 ,the wide fat on the SE is my favourite.

I still have a 1989 PRS CE (bolt on rosewood boarded neck) with rather poorly matched figured maple top and mahogany slab body. Maybe it was a factory second or demo model, but when I bought it for ( too much) in 1991 it was supposed to be new but I sometimes wonder if the bridge pickup was changed, because unlike the neck pickup which is more PAFfy and is covered, the brige pickup seems to have a huge mid boost and is uncovered - sounds like a " big hair, tight lycra" 70's style sound. Some of the string-lock collars disintegrated after a year, and I was sent a new set from PRS US who were very helpful; they said that early on they had trouble with materiaals they built some parts from, but the new stuff was good. And it has been. After setting the guitar up correctly ( it was in bad shape when it came from the shop) it played beautifully, and is still playing well after a pickup selector switch was replaced about ten years ago. It sounds like a hot strat with humbuckers and has the simple les f way down it dounds like a paul type 3 way pickup selector. It seems to have a treble bleed thing on the master volume because halfway down it sounds like a strat and all up it's a humbucker strat!

They are absolutely still worth it, because they are cheap to pick up. Construction and woods are great, pickups and lacquer not so much I think. My favourite guitar for the last 6 years is a 2001 McCarty Soapbar with swapped pickups, which will be refinished in nitro and refretted soon.

Now that they announced the New SE SAS that one may do pretty well in the market. Great looking guitar. Hope it gets dialed in the way you like. I like my Custom 24 but would love to grab a bolt on neck as well. Cheers!

How much would a very well worn be worth with original case and unrestored?
