MG is my favorite game show of all time. So much fun. Thank you so much for posting these. I often wonder what Gene did during the commercial breaks that would cause people to laugh as he returned to his spot and he'd say, "hello!" or "we're back."
@@proud_brettsomersfanclub8687, it's sweet how highly you think of Brett (I've read your many comments)... 🧡 We differ, however, when it comes to Richard because I always have liked Richard, on here and ever since I 1st saw him on "Family Feud" as a little girl 🙂; my grandma probably would have agreed with you, though, because I remember her always getting perturbed with him for always kissing the ladies 😘... LOL!!! 🤣
@@proud_brettsomersfanclub8687, I'm so glad that Brett can give you some semblance of relief; I was born in June 1975, so this is "before my time", too, in a roundabout way, of course... 🙂😉 I know that it's hard for you, as everyday is a struggle for me, as well, due to my Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Depression, Anxiety, Stress, and other Autoimmune Disorders 🥺😞, so I also receive some relief from watching these old "Match Game" episodes (I used to watch both daily episodes on GSN, but I got so aggravated and frustrated when they'd skip episodes 🙄😒, so I just started watching them on RUclips here on my phone)... I enjoy your positive comments about Brett, and I will keep you in my prayers... 🙏 Take care! 🤗
Garfield, and you will do anything to find something negative to say about Brett. Do you realize you are worse than you say she is by notating all that you do???
H/H match update and End-of-Week Recap: ... ~~~Today's Action: It's Richard's turn to play the "villainess" today - his "Queen" cost the champion the game (although some would argue that it was the judging that cost him the game). At any rate, our now former champion can't be too unhappy - he departs after winning five games and $12,250, which is quite a haul in 1977! Today's audience match question: "Leave ________ " (My thoughts: it to Beaver, me alone, it all behind) The celebs: Ethel (to me), Richard (it to Beaver), Brett (town) The choice: It to Beaver The answers: Of Absence, Me Alone, It to Beaver Well, it figures, we have a brand-new champion, but run out of time before the head-to-head. It's interesting that she'll have four (yes, four!) new celebs to pick from next time, so chances are she'll probably stick with a known quantity, almost certainly Richard. I was thinking there was a slight chance she might pick Ethel, but now we'll never know... Stay tuned! ~~~The Week that Was: After an early audience match fail on "Thursday," they managed to squeak in a last-minute H/H question at the end of that show, but then we lost a question today to time, leaving us only 4 questions for the week, and only two matches: Fannie 0/1, Richard 2/3 This is now the third week in a row that we got to see someone other than Richard play the H/H. Sadly, Fannie didn't match the celeb this time, but it was still nice to see her play again. (It generally seemed like an off week for Fannie, but she's still one of my all-time favorite panelists!) Quickly recapping this week's panelists: *Richard* had a good week, matching two out of three attempts. He ends with a very good 42.0% accuracy. *Charles* sat idle for his fourth week, and he remains in a tie with Betty at 50.0%. *Brett* sat idle for the 20th consecutive week. *Fannie* Flagg finished her 56th week of 90. She missed her H/H question on "Monday," dropping out of that three-way tie with Charles and Betty. She now stands at an excellent 48.1% accuracy rate. *Ethel* Merman completed her fourth week (of five) without being called on to answer a H/H question. Her final week will be episodes 1186-1190. I'd sure love to see her play a H/H! And *Don* Sutton finished his second (of four) weeks on the panel without a shot at the H/H. I have a feeling he'd be good at it too, but like most of our celebs, we'll never know. At least not until the "Star Wheel" makes its debut in episode 1246 (so that's still a ways off). ~~~Looking ahead to next week, Charles will sadly be absent! So these are faces we'll see joining trusty regulars Brett and Richard: -----Semi-regular Betty White will return after a two-week breather for her 50th week of 75. Betty and Charles remained tied at a 50% H/H accuracy rate. Will this be Betty's week to break out? -----Dick Martin will sit in Charles's seat for his seventh week (of 22 total). We last saw Dick four weeks ago (941-945), and he is still awaiting his first call to the head-to-head. (I wonder where Gary Burghoff is?) -----Mary Wickes will be back for her seventh week (of 14 total). She last visited in episodes 916-920, and she also hasn't been called on to play the H/H yet. -----Last but not least, we'll have another one-and-done celeb in the first seat. This time it's Tom Hallick spending his only week on the Match Game panel. ~~~Finally, here's our standing leader board (unchanged from yesterday, of course) showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy: (Note: An asterisk before a celebrity's name signifies that she has "retired" from the show and her H/H stats are now complete.) (Note: For tied scores, I consider the one with the greater number of matches to be higher; if the matches are equal, the celeb who first achieved that score goes on top.) Orson Bean - 100% (4 wins in 4 attempts). TIE: (*)Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts). Gary Burghoff - 71.4% (5 wins in 7 attempts). TIE: Charles - 50.0% (33 wins in 66 attempts). TIE: Betty - 50.0% (19 wins in 38 attempts). Fannie - 48.1% (13 wins in 27 attempts). Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts). Richard - 42.0% (261 wins in 621 attempts). Brett - 41.2% (28 wins in 68 attempts). Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts). *These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 960, excluding the lost/missing/damaged episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325, 645, and 910. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!") -- Also, note that episode 849 was never produced.
Here are the results for this week: For a sick boy, Richard did really well and won giving away the most money at $11,750. Fannie also gave away $500. Richard also matched the most at a total of 16 times. Ethel came in second with 10 matches, Don matched 9 times, Fannie matched 8 times, Charles matched 7 times, and Brett matched 6 times.

Virginity really is not a virtue. And Richard was right to challenge the judge on Queen and SWeet Ape. He was right.
They have consistently matched "virtue" with "virginity" and "honor" since the start of the show. It's become one of those accepted MG euphemisms.
Bob Long was robbed! They all meant "Gay" when they wrote "Queen". They need to bring Bob back.
In my opinion gay is not the same as queen
