Juxtapose / contrast styles within your outfit 6. Add accessories This will help me remember :D #2 is why I don’t like wear my heels or anything uncomfortable much anymore. #4 #5 #6 are the ones I need to remember. 🥳
I really like how you focus on tips, tricks, ideas, inspiration rather than haul after haul. The occasional haul is still fun to watch but this sort of video is timeless. 5 years on watching this would still be as relevant. This is the kind of content we all need!
Lydia - I would love to share a tip I read years ago that goes right along with the color repeating. And this works! Match your leather tones to your hair tones and you will always look balanced and pulled together. One granddaughter is a redhead and all her leather goods are in caramels, toffees ,etc and no matter what is in between (like a black dress which would look too heavy on her fair coloring with black shoes) no matter what looks good because the head always blends with the feet. I am grey and honestly my shoes are all grey or taupe and they always make me feel good (also navy at times). Black hair - black shoes balance you out,. I could go on but too much. This is just a tip for those building a core wardrobe and doesn't mean you can't expand to other colors but matching your leather goods to your hair color and skin tone really works for a polished look.
@@sallyg2139 So funny! That is me also but taupe will also work. If you take a basic black pant or jeans and add a shirt or a turtleneck or a tee in a color that suits you and then add your "mousy grey" shoes and belt or bag you will be pleasantly surprised at how easy it will be to dress - not to mention pack for a trip. I wear alot of blue and grey so I do add a navy loafer or belt . The hair color/leather combo is just a good building block for a core wardrobe but it will save time and money and simplify dressing .
Thank you Lydia,I am a 63 year old women that is in the beauty business .I got to a place that It was time for me to look at my wardrobe and go classic. You have helped me so much to transform my wardrobe. You really do a great job .I look forward to watching more video’s as they come in.

Fantastic class Lydia👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾!! Thank you so very much as always for sharing darling ❤️. Take care, keep safe and have a lovely evening 🤗❤️.
I’m Spanish and I love to watch your videos because your English it’s so easy to understand and you always give the best tips and also good inspiration. Thank you ☺️
I really enjoy the sit down videos. You give really useful practical tips as living in the UK is so difficult to dress for the time of year due to the weather. I love that you are not constantly doing hauls but getting us to really think about what we need not what we want. I used to hate it when people talked about basics until I realised they were the true foundation to any wardrobe. I spent my life looking for stand out items that went with very little. I love your common sense approach and classic styling. ❤️
Great little chat Lydia and agree with your thoughts on connecting with people via this format. Your content is very helpful . Applying ' Lessons with Lydia' has revolutionised my style, taken the anxiety out of clothing choices and no more cries of ' I have nothing to wear!' You are a gem Thank you x
You have inspired me so much the past couple weeks. I’m starting to create a more timeless wardrobe for myself and I really appreciate all of your content. You are so great!
Step 1. start with the weather - you should feel comfortable! Step 2. choose footwear depending on what you will do during the day Step 3. build your capsule wardrobe Step 4. sandwich rule: balance everything by combining style/color on the top and the bottom Step 5. contrast your style by combining feminine and masculine pieces Step 6. Accessorize
Weather is definitely key 🔑 :) no point in wearing certain clothing if the weather is rainy you won't feel good. If you are mainly travelling by car 🚗 you can get away with wearing more of what you like. As you are not so exposed to the elements x
Girl besides the good advice you give, you are so classy and beautiful, so inspirational. Each time I look at your videos you make me wanna stand up from my bed and get my shit together. Thank you Lydia keep going
Loved this video! Casual and cozy, like chatting with a girlfriend. You’re so comfortable in front of the camera, it’s always a pleasure to watch your channel 👌
Thank you so much , I am so happy to have found you !! I throughly enjoy listening and watching you . I am in my late 50 and yr styling is so adaptable being comfortable, casual and chic ! Love it and adaptable at different ages . Great info ❤️❤️
Hi Lydia, just wanted to say I found your channel a few weeks ago and your content is absolutely amazing! I love your style and way of teaching how to put together a look. I've learned so much from you! ❤️Keep it up, you are perfection 🥰
The sit down with a friend style video is great. You're inviting and relaxed and that makes for a very enjoyable video. I love the Lessons with Lydia. Comfort and dressing for the weather is so important (including footwear). I'm happily surprised to see such a colorful sofa in your place.
Great video Lydia! I would love to see a video on jewelry styling. When do you stop with layering your jewelry? How much is too much? If you wear a watch, should you wear a bracelet or a stack of bracelets? If you wear large earrings, should you wear a statement necklace, smaller necklace(s) or no necklace at all? (I could go on forever with questions. 😂) Thanks again for all your styling help! 😘
Hi Lydia, great video, I totally agree that if you first check the weather then choose the shoes for the days activities, you won't go far wrong, you will be comfy and confident all day. x
Dressing for the weather this season has just about driven me crazy! I live in Albany, NY, USA,and this past week it was almost 90 F for two days, then in the low 50’s, with rain! I change my outfit every few hours it seems.
awesome video, would you do a video showing us different jewelry looks with the same outfit? silver and gold or switching up the base of the look with different matching accessories? thank you
Thank you so much. I’m redoing my entire wardrobe with your guidance. It means so much. I did a major try on haul which watch and learning from you. You have made me feel so much more comfortable and confident and I feel like I know myself more after figuring this all out. Thanks so so much. ✨ also love the sit down ☺️ I think if you’re not showing clothes then it’s nice to give tips like this, more intimate.
Hi Lydia ! I love your style fashion advice and personality and cozy chats !!! You are so wise, kind and so helpful since I am a teacher and need a lot of inspirational style tips and Am so learning a lot from your channel!! Could you do a video as to what colors to wear for each day of work week maybe for a teacher ..? I am so blessed to have found you on u- tube ! Blessings n love ❤️ 💗 💕 from sunny 😎 Yuma, AZ
Hi Lydia. Great tips as always! I absolutely love the beige pleated Marcela trousers- they’re really gorgeous. We are fortunate enough to have lovely warm weather here now ( will try sending some sunshine your way!) so I’m looking forward to some ideas on summer looks in the next few weeks. Take care 💖🌸🌷...... 🌞➡️
Love the video, so many interesting and informative fashion ideas, like that Arket belt, which I just bought! I can see how versatile it can be, and a great addition to any wardrobe. Thanks Lydia, love your channel 💖
I love your suggestions to balance something light and airy with something chunky or boxy... Can't say I've learned to put that together off the cuff, but I copy some of your ideas. Also, could you do some more examples of the "sandwich" thing? Yes, I love these personal videos when you talk to us, I think you are right, it engenders a real feeling of intimacy and camaraderie with your viewers, rather than "I'm going to throw a lot of haul pieces you should go out and buy" LOL, which makes me feel I am being used for a purely commercial transaction... I wish more of your co-influencers would take that tack...
Great video, thank you. I would love a summer wardrobe capsule wardrobe video sooner rather than later please, so I know what I need to add to mine beforehand 😁
Could you do a video of organising your closet. How to put things together in the closet. All short sleeves colour coordinated or actual outfit ideas put together? I find it very confusing sometimes trying to decide what to wear - even though i am really organised. Have all work things together etc.
Hello! Yes I'd love to do that one day - at the moment my closet isn't quite how I'd like it but usually I'd organise by category e.g.e tops with tops, trousers with trousers etc. The most important thing to do I think is to keep it colour coded!
Wow! I never thought to choose footwear first. It makes so much sense since I have less footwear options than clothes. I always picked it last. And off topic, you remind me of a mix of young Britney Spears, Mandy Moore, and Kate Hudson..Beautiful!!! ❤️
Another great and informative video. I just enjoy these so much and I always learn something new! I need that Arket belt....I will look to see if it is still available!
Lovely video as usual. Love your style and you always look effortlessly stylish in the simplest of clothes. 👍. I have a black satin skirt like the cream one you have on here but feel it’s not summery enough and as a result I don’t wear it much -any ideas for styling it please?
Thumbs up! You are so cool and sincere no pretensions at all. Ive seen a lot of style and fashion content video some are plain showtime, too fashionist makes them boring.
I wish I could hire you to just do it for me -pick the pieces for me, design the outfits, review them on me and then make changes. All I'd have to do is put them on and take photos. That's the service I need.
Lydia may you please do an update on your hair colour? It is gorgeous!!! 😍 I can see it’s a darker shade with minimal highlights. Did you darken it yourself? Thanks xo

I know wide pants are very fashion nowadays. But I can't use this clothes. Can you help me and us?Thank you so much all your videos again.💕✨🌟
I dont like that much gold it's a bit loud look like not real gold not all can carry that specially if they are small it's a bit big gold for non occasion but you deliver it well so you can carry it nicely
Why must there be lessons, can’t we just wear what we love... seems so old fashioned, like back when we had to find out the tone in our skin and get put in a season category which told us what colors we could and couldn’t wear... I really dislike this kind of vid... your so young, why so many rules... sound like a grandma!!!
So you don't end up staring at a wardrobe of regrets, end up in the rain with a tank top and canvas shoes, end up with blisters because you wore heels for a cross city pub crawl... Seriously her tips are sensible, not sure what youth has to do with it.
