- Der Audi R8 ist die erste Modellgeneration des Mittelmotor-Sportwagens von Audi. Die Namensgebung beruht auf dem Le-Mans-Rennprototypen. Zur Gewichtreduzierung besteht die Karosserie vollständig aus Aluminium. Von Herbst 2006 bis Ende 2014 wurden insgesamt 26 037 R8 produziert, von denen 5.626 Stück in Deutschland neu zugelassen wurden.
Seit April 2009 ist der aus dem Audi S6 C6 bekannte V10-Ottomotor mit Benzindirekteinspritzung (FSI) in veränderter Form im R8 verfügbar. Der hochdrehende Motor mit 5,2 Litern Hubraum erreicht eine maximale Leistung von 525 PS. Der Audi R8 V10 beschleunigt in 3,9 Sekunden von 0 auf 100 km/h und erreicht eine Höchstgeschwindigkeit von 316 km/h.
Der Audi R8 kommt mit R Tronic, dem automatisierten Schaltgetriebe, das mit einem Schalthebel in der Mittelkonsole oder per Schaltpaddel am Lenkrad bedient wird. Der R8 hat einen Allradantrieb von Lamborghini.

The Audi R8 is the first model generation of the mid-engine sports car from Audi. The name is based on the Le Mans racing prototype. The body is made entirely of aluminum to reduce weight. From fall 2006 to the end of 2014, a total of 26,037 R8s were produced, of which 5,626 were newly registered in Germany.
Since April 2009, the V10 petrol engine with petrol direct injection (FSI) familiar from the Audi S6 C6 has been available in a modified form in the R8. The high-revving engine with a displacement of 5.2 liters achieves a maximum output of 525 hp. The Audi R8 V10 accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 316 km/h.
The Audi R8 comes with R Tronic, the automated manual gearbox, which is operated with a gearshift in the center console or with a shift paddle on the steering wheel. The R8 has all-wheel drive from Lamborghini.
