Eric, I have tried learning and using the Hendrix inversion so many times that I all but gave up on it. People have said if it sounds terrible you are getting somewhere. let me say that you're progressions sound wonderful and all of a sudden all those other lesson just started making sense.

The subtle dynamics that Hendrix often used is just one of the many things that separated him from most of the other rock guitarists of the day. I'm old school, to me, the greatest guitar tone is running a guitar direct into an amp (or just one or two analog pedals), turning the vol down on the guitar and pushing the amp hard with just a little gain, no digital compression or over processing. I do think if Hendrix were alive today, he would be the first one to embrace all the new electronics and DAWs programs, he did like to experiment. Now, of course, it's 100 times easier to set up and control a venue using digital so you don't hear that 60s guitar sound live anymore.
Great channel, you are obviously a good musician and have an excellent ear and great timing, I know of no higher compliment to give to a guitar player.

I had a instructor one time taught me like your videos before I knew RUclips he played with West Mongrumery at one time he would have all this in his head and write it down but it was hard driving showing up 65 dollars per month I progressed some then I just stopped then I got other spark to pick it up now since been learning the language of music an d more understaning where my conference has built up to tackle these tutorial it a lot more fun I mesnits me keeping it fun so thank you I enjoy the lessons to add songs like another player told me he was still gìging for the holidays at a mall at 90 some years old he said get your list of song start at the top go down your list and just going over and over my list is not that long in my head there is but I don't want to overwhelme myself...Roland J Gutierrez..ps your a keeper of some of your songs tutorials on my list...duse that make sense....
Just a tip Roland. I used to try to memorize everything and it never worked. I learned to understand music rules and write everything down so that I stopped forgetting stuff. I teach that concept to my students all the time. He who know the rules, RULES! Thanks so much for watching!

It sounds like he injects some Eminor pentatonics into that...was he mixing minor and major together in that one?
Mixing minor pentatonic with major in the solo and modulating through keys with the chords.
Did Jimi tune a half step down on "Hey Joe"?
Hi. This song is in E major, so I don't think he did. Remember though that it is very easy to go from E to Eb as far as tuning is concerned. Takes about 2 min. Besides, Jimi had multiple guitars so he could have a guitar set up and ready with any tuning he wanted as most rich and famous guitarists do. Thanks for watching my friend!
