Coniston Power Boat Record Week

Tuesday 5th November 2024. We were there from about 8.30 to 4pm so we saw most of the action. If you know any of the competitors please copy them in on this as they may find it interesting.

Great video but it's a Shame not to see the wonderful Cinzano powerboat this year. But when will Ruskin museum run Bluebird there we need to see her alive again

yes it would be great to she her run on the lake just one more time, I live in Whitehaven so I have been to see her sitting there lifeless in Ruskin museum it is so sad , we we need to see her live again

Great video. What wonderfully calm water! I hope you get some information about the competitors.
I used to run radio controlled fuel powered model boats. I set a couple of records in outboard mono and tunnel hull APBA classes. We seldom had enough calm water to run flat-out for long without flipping or spinning. I appreciate the technology, skill and daring to do what you see here.

Thanks for your interesting comments. There were several world records made this year and I think the fastest speed was 130+ MPH. Excellent conditions on the water but still very risky for the competitors.
