- We´re back in the Costa del Sol of Spain and this time we are exploring the Mijas area including the picture postcard perfect town of Mijas Pueblo, the coastal area of Mijas Costa and the more modern commercial area of Las Lagunas.
We’ll discover their diverse neighborhoods, each offering unique lifestyles, from the tranquil whitewashed village of Mijas Pueblo, the beautiful golf courses in Mijas-Golf, to the vibrant coastal ambiance of Mijas Costa where you find the colorful and quaint beach town of La Cala de Mijas.

Just have to say I was planning on moving to Lisbon area in 2024. However, the ending of their NHR and the highly inflated housing costs there made me consider Andalusia as the weather is superb and no wealth tax in that region and Portugal will be same tax bracket as Spain . Your videos are both informative and delightful. . I’m obtaining my EU passport via Italian citizenship blood ancestry. You’re giving me options to my first choice: Cadiz. Keep doing a wonderful job. ❤

Nice video. Definitely seems like a good place for a vacation/second home - it's so clean and the beaches are just beautiful! But, honestly, I would move anywhere that dog lives. He is adorable! Love the donkeys too!

That’s a comprehensive tour. Thanks for making this video. I am thinking of visiting Mijas as possibly a nomad working location. Could you get by with English language alone in Costa del Sol? I know, if staying longer it makes sense to learn Spanish. Kind Regards from London
Thanks for watching! You shouldn't have any problem. We pretty much spoke English the entire time even though we speak Spanish.
Thanks for the video! With the end of the NHR tax regime in Portugal, Spain and Italy start to look more attractive. Btw, Guillermo should be able to get his citizenship in Spain after 2-year residence. After processing time, you are probably looking at ~3 years in Spain and 6+ years in Portugal. I look forward to the video on taxes. Cheers!
Thanks for watching! It will be interesting to see if the end of NHR actually slows the migration of people and if the government sets up any other type of tax scheme in Portugal. We have considered the Spanish citizenship route but we are grandfathered in under NHR and are really loving Portugal right now.
Keep in mind that your domicile should be different for you and your pension. Money should be in a tax haven and income drawn at an amount that covers your Spanish/Portuguese expenses. Any excess should be left growing in that tax haven. You all should read the book, “Take the Money and Run” by Alex Doualis (SP?)

We haven´t finalized a decision about the Costa del Sol yet even though we love it a lot. The video we are currently working on is about the tax considerations in Spain and wow, there a lot of them to consider.

I think Fuengirola has a bit more to offer year round. I would be interested to see these places in winter when all the tourists are gone.

How much for a round of golf in Mijas?
oh wow, we actually don't play golf so we never looked into prices. Olivos is a good golf course and they have a website that may have the pricing. The courses are beautiful 😊
I’m assuming EU current passport holders can easily become residents of Mijas?
Yes, it's in the EU so that shouldn't be a problem.
