The next support should be a searchable in archetype foolish/burial goods to dump Either dark g or a spell trap to search a monster It should be the worm Should be called something like labrynth wall worm
@11:50 Yes, you play at least 2 Dark Guardian because 1 in grave turns on Dark Element without having to fuse. And I believe that with what's currently good, most decks don't have an answer to a Dark Guardian summoned off the spell so it could just be game
I feel like Double Dark Guardian is best in branded/fusion builds where milling it is somewhat consistent, otherwise there's too much risk of it being a brick on top of the elements
@@TCGNistro It can summon itself from hand though. Also again: getting one in grave makes the spell live to bring the other out of the deck, which is a win condition by itself so its worth the risk
@@OblivionZX It can summon itself from hand...if I have access to all 3 elements in my opening hand, which means opening at least 2 cards that get an element on field to summon thunder and wind, or any 3 that don't conflict with each other...a lack of starters in gg makes double Dark a hard sell, which is a problem the deck has had since it's inception. Unless you conveniently open a discard to make use of Dark Guardian, it might as well get itself comfy in your opening hand cuz it's gonna be there a while. Only in a fusion focused gg deck would this not be an issue.
@@TCGNistro I feel like you're overthinking it. Only 1 Dark Guardian means you can NEVER make a "Towers" DG without getting a fusion on board in the first place. That to me is enough of a reason to play 2 Dark Guardian. Feel free to disagree but I think it's a no-brainer when adding 1 extra copy opens up an additional win condition. I think you're focusing too hard on bringing Combined out off of Element when Towers DG could just straight up win you the game if the opponent can't out it (and in the current tcg/ocg meta, not many can)
@@OblivionZX I understand that there are decks out there that auto scoop to a towers, but there's no point in following that logic if we cant even get to that towers consistently to begin with. DG takes a lot of setup to summon (or some lucky draws) whether its as a towers or not, and it's not even a great towers. It does nothing to interact with the opponent and isn't even completely invulnerable. Being weak to traps makes it a really hard sell against meta. It loses to a single imperm. Rescue Ace and Unchained will have 0 issues dealing with this card with their traps. Infernoid under Lair of Darkness can tribute DG and then banish it from grave all in one move. It does nothing to stop the opponent from playing the game. There are very few situations where a DG is better than a GG Combined, because at least combined can play around stuff like book/imperm/e-con/just about any unchained eff on your board, and can pivot into something else if it happens to get removed from field.
Some of this makes a lot of sense! Because the gate guardian pieces no matter where they are, banished, dead, etc. They're elements! Forces of nature itself so if your opponent banishes or destroys or even sends them back to your hand/ deck.. you cant get rid of an element. It'll always return. Which when you think about it, being a warrior/spellcaster sort of golem elemental... thats probably what yugi meant when he said their power is in a "class of exodia"
Your comment about how they need a 1 card starter reminds me of broken support I wrote for them a few months ago. Because I turned Dungeon Worm and Monster Tamer into broken starters. Monster Tamer became a Tour Guide for the archetype that also is able to tribute your monsters to place pieces in the Spell/Trap Zone up to the amount you tributed and Dungeon Worm can special itself and can send a card to GY to add one with a different name from deck when summoned + it allows you to Normal Summon 1 Level 7 monster in addition to your Normal summon. And both have GY effects if you control Labrynth wall just like Wall Shadow. These are completely overtuned but the deck would probably still not be Meta if they existed. Therefore I wrote even more cards like an in archetype Machina Redeployment, 2 new Fusions and 1 new Maindeck monster that would allow the deck if you started with just 1 Tamer to end on 3 Monster Negates that can float into 3 pops, 3 Targeting Negates, 2 Spell/Trap Negates with Labrynth Wall on Field and Wall Shadow, Tamer and Worm in GY + Tamer in hand for follow-up xD Then Gate Guardian would finally be broken xD
I did made a dungeon worm custom card. It’s similar to jirai gumo where it’s a trap monster that can pop a monster with less than 1800 ATK opt but it can’t attack and can banish itself from GY to search a Gate Guardian S/T
It's quite rare that when an archetype or even a specific themed deck from 10+ years ago is released and given upgrades to boot into the modern day YuGiOh, thats quite capable of holding their own and is actually relevant. Now this deck with its added secondary boss monster support, might actually have a balanced enough formula to see some real competition in the near future.
Ngl I think the new support is pretty ass. I don't think I'd even consider running it from what I have seen so far and reading it. I still think going second OTK gate guardian is the best version and that version is pretty inconsistent because like you mention its just too many 2 card combos required to do anything.
Did you hear about the cards (currently just the OG. Dark Guardian and Dark Element are not confirmed as of yet) being leaked by dkayed for master duel? With Purrely and Vanquish Souls being the best decks there right now and the different format (instant fusion being banned for example) how would you change a decklist around to fit better into the master duel metascape?
With Maxx C and Thunder Dragon Colossus legal, I'd be looking at how ocg pilots gate guardian rn to consider if you'd wanna build this deck in a master duel meta. You can find Gate Guardian OCG lists using this hashtag #ゲートガーディアン
i dont get what your issue is its really easy to get a start up like this "two card combos" isnt a really hard thing in this deck you can get gate guadians combined out turn 1 and possubly even one of the other fusions ontop of that without needing to rely on other archtypes as engines. as far as dark element there is a benifit to cutting your LP in hald cause then you can use Guardian riryoku to supe up one of your guardian's atk. these support and gate guardian retrains litterally has one of the best consistancies of any legacy retrain...it does not matter where these pieces are...everything searches them in some manner everything either negates, destroys fucks with battle or recovers from a heavy loss i cant think of anything short of an effect that mass deck-returns that can slow this down. and even if you get rainbow dragon'd your fusions are still leaving the field and you get your peices back,or in the case of Combined, another fusion. i think the reason why we only got dark element and dark guardian this time around is because thats all we really needed...and other kink can be filled with generic staples like foolish burial or fusion deployment

They can fix the decks weakness with retrains of Dungeon Worm and Monster Tamer if they give them the needed effects.

Most of the Gate Guardian support is in MD already, all you're missing is Dark Guardian I believe.
It’s cool but not what the deck needed. Kinda disappointed but will def try it
