If you let the video run till the end you will often see him reacting to the audience and see how humble and nice he is; and all the flowers and devotion fans give to him. One month to be exact and the ‘stuff’ I’m interested in is quite diverse and becoming moreso every day since starting this channel. I must say, SOME of Dimash’s “Dears” are closed minded, judgemental snobs. Nothing what I feel Dimash himself exudes. I saw Dimash performing this song live at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. This was Dimash first solo concert in the United States. Words cannot describe the experience of watching this gifted singer; you'll have to experience for yourself. Dimash is in my honest opinion, the Greatest Singer of our time. I'm afraid that there will never be another one like him ever.
Many Dears> totally loyal to DIMASH do not think that many people are used to different singers with no where near the talent of DIMASH; and they are not as familiar with DIMASH as the Dears are. That coupled with the language differences; many misunderstand what is said and take it wrong. Most mean well but are defensive of DIMASH. just continue reacting and they will come around soon to see you mean well. DIMASH is a fantastic cure for whatever ails you in life, the more you know him the more you will feel him and then you will understand what i am saying. I can only agree. My husband heard that his voice is fantastic, but didn’t hear the shadows and nuances so he couldn’t full understand my hysterical shouting to him: You have to hear this, you have to hear this, when I heard the first phrase of SOS the Singer 😂 He thought I am going nuts. I am schooled since my childhood to listen and appreciate classical singing with epic singers, so for me this pure clear voice was unbelievable - I couldn’t believe that a male singer could sing this way. After the first notes I thought - what a beautiful countertenor - then after the deep tone I was shocked and thought - what digital trick did they made and has to realize - it’s him, it’s no trick. So as my husband realized how I reacted to Dimashes voice he tried to understand and heard over and over SOS. Now after his „ear training“ after a few weeks he now „hear“ it. Not everything but enough to really appreciate and admire Dimash. A reactor mentioned to hear the full voice and abilities of Dimash - you have to have a trained ear. Only a few can hear it without that. By the way, when he is doing the dishwasher or works in the kitchen he hears Dimash - he made a playlist for himself - he says: Housework is a better thing by hearing Dimash 😂😂❤ Love from Austria 🇦🇹

SOS is in French and DIMASH early on traveled to France to perform and the French who got to see him at Cannes film festival were amazed at his performance. He was offered a contract as an Opera singer with Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but did no take it as he prefers to do all types of music and as you react more you will see his greatness even more so.

(It was stolen and never could replace its quality or 'voice'). I thought they would feel his music, but no! They are annoyed at my listening daily, but I do it because it is healing and I feel that resonate deep... yes, I would call it therapeutic and I do have training in that. Dear Charlene, I am very pleased that you have shared another reaction to Dimash with us. I have to admit at this point that I usually listen to other genres of music. I grew up in the 80s and have listened to a lot of rock, some metal and 80s pop since then. Dimash has managed to kick me in the butt, mainly with this song, in such a sustainable and at the same time charming way that I was catapulted out of my previous music consumption bubble. Dimash has taught me to listen to music in a new way. He makes me love things that I don't normally like. Of course, this is mainly due to his voice, which captivates me over and over again. He sang this song as a guest at the Slavic Bazaar in Belarus 2018. It’s an International Festival of Arts and a contest for young singers, which he won in 2015. SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione. SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. I was surprised that your first listen to Dimash ("Stranger") didn't knock your socks off but glad "SOS" resonated with you. If you read the lyrics to SOS, it would have touched you even more (try turning on your subtitles when listening to Dimash because he sings in 15 languages). You've already heard he's #1, but listening further to his songs will show you his huge vocal repertoire and mastery of a plethora of vocal techniques, more than any other singer I've ever heard. “SOS d'un terrien en détresse” tells of an earthly being that is in distress and asking for help because he never felt well in his own skin, he better wants to be a bird to see the world in case it could be more beautiful when seen from above. Luc Plamondon wrote the lyrics of SOS about a very distraught young man who just lost his lover causing him extreme questioning of his own existence. Finally being by her lifeless body, he is able to let her go “in peace“ with the words ‘sleep, my child, sleep’. It is a part of an french Rock-Pop opera released in 1979: Starmania. One of the 5 most difficult songs in French language. It was recorded by Daniel Balavoine in 1979 or so and Grégory Lemarchal won of the French reality singing competition Star Academy 2004 with this song.
This piece was from a French rock opera. And it is emotional. It starts out "Why do I live, why do I die. I am a human in distress SOS". It's about a person questioning his existence in life & how he wishes he had a better view of the world. What I like about Dimash's choices in the music he sings is, it has to convey a message. And he feels the music he sings. His music videos are like mini movies. One Sky is a masterpiece in videography, messaging to music. I believe it's 15min long. His most recent one is "When I've Got You" is more a tribute to Michael Jackson & a nod to some of the horror genres of the '80s & '90s. Dimash is a big fan of MJ. The next one I enjoyed listening to was "Olympico". Fabulous.

Well you are about my age or generation, you would probably like Dimash’s newest music video, “When I’ve Got You,” it is a bluesy, Jazzy, Gospel, classical all mixed together, kind of David Bowie, Michael Jackson, and Meat Loaf type, but better, parts even remind me of Freddy Mercury. Which I like all of them, but Dimash is better and I can’t deny that at all. I’m a lover of classic rock, and some 80’s and 90’s groups. But Dimash seems to feel each song and brings emotions that are tangible and touches our hearts! Love this reaction! Thank you! If you like classical at all, his duet with Aida, “Ulssyes,” “Olympico,” In January of 2024 he sang a duet with Maestro Placido Domingo. It’s on RUclips. I'm sorry you had a bad experience with your first video. Dimash's fans are not your typical "groupies". We are at millions strong (someone help on this because I don't remember the last count) and range in age from Teenagers to women in their mid 90's. Dears travel from one country to another to make sure his seats are always sold out at his concerts. Another thing is that he is a very humble and graceful young man and is recognized by everyone from the Pope (who Dimash has met with and sat down to talk to) to Presidents, to other world leaders. With all of these things in mind. Dears are VERY protective of Dimash and his honor, so you must always be mindful of that.

I have enjoyed more than 25 videos of different performances of Dimash singing this song always live. I would NOT want to start a debate, but it is natural that all Dears tend to compare any version of "SOS de un terrien en détresse" with Dimash. That's inevitable, this song is the one that opened the doors to Dimash's magical world to the majority of his hard-core followers, his Dears. It goes without saying that no matter how good, emotional o perfectly well french pronuncited the previous or subsequent versions are since its premiere at Starmania (above all the versions by Daniel Belavione and Gregory Lemarchal), the song acquired a much superior connotation in Dimash's style and unique voice. This song belongs to Dimash, no matter how many people sing it, no one can take it away from him. When Michel Berger and Luc Plamondon composed it, they did not imagine that 18 years later its true owner would be born in Kazakhstan.

As the greatest vocal artist in the world, he draws a cadre of haters, and Dears are very protective of him and his reputation. ( One reactor recently altered his voice and then blasted out that Dimash was out of tune!) I get that in the USA we are used to fake stuff from our stars. There are English subtitles on this performance. It’s really a song about suicide and not fitting in, in this world and wishing he was a bird, so he could see the world from above, the first line is “Why do I live, why do I die” The English title is “SOS - from an Earthling in Distress” and Dimash sings in French here. He sings songs in 13 languages.
While I do believe that Dimash is the greatest (technical) singer in the world, my favorite singer is Avi Kaplan. Dimash shocks, stuns and amazes me, while Avi sooths my spirit not only with his voice but with his writing. Dimash rarely does that. I still love to hear both of them.
If you are watching the video from his channel, most of his songs have translations. So you can just turn on the CCs for English. Some of the earlier ones, like this one, has the translation for the song only, but not the before and after. This song is from the 70's from the French/Canadian rock opera Starmania.

Greetings from Finland. I started my Dimash journey with the 2017 The Singer competition performances. I love the ones with some backround stories ( so if you go thru them, choose the longest videos...) He was younger then, like he was in this S.O.S video you just reacted to, and I still enjoy those performances cause you can see the yang man having his break through in the international profeccional level. He was phenomenal back then and he is geting better and better as an remarkable artist. My personal favorites are Qaragym-ai/2020, Ikanaide 2021, Adagio 2017 and Armeninian song I'll Die for the Wind of the Mountains... Yes, I love his ability to live through the motions when singing❤. There is a lot to Dimash. A super emotive singer in any genre and a really decent human being at the same time. Doesn’t hurt that he has the voice and appearance of an angel, but a peaceful and caring person too. Glad you “got it” this time. If you let the video run till the end you will often see him reacting to the audience and see how humble and nice he is; and all the flowers and devotion fans give to him. I saw Dimash performing this song live at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. This was Dimash first solo concert in the United States. Words cannot describe the experience of watching this gifted singer; you'll have to experience for yourself. Dimash is in my honest opinion, the Greatest Singer of our time. That coupled with the language differences; many misunderstand what is said and take it wrong. I am schooled since my childhood to listen and appreciate classical singing with epic singers, so for me this pure clear voice was unbelievable - I couldn’t believe that a male singer could sing this way. After the first notes I thought - what a beautiful countertenor - then after the deep tone I was shocked and thought - what digital trick did they made and has to realize - it’s him, it’s no trick.
So as my husband realized how I reacted to Dimashes voice he tried to understand and heard over and over SOS. Now after his „ear training“ after a few weeks he now „hear“ it. Not everything but enough to really appreciate and admire Dimash. A reactor mentioned to hear the full voice and abilities of Dimash - you have to have a trained ear. Only a few can hear it without that.
By the way, when he is doing the dishwasher or works in the kitchen he hears Dimash - he made a playlist for himself - he says: Housework is a better thing by hearing Dimash 😂😂❤

SOS is in French and DIMASH early on traveled to France to perform and the French who got to see him at Cannes film festival were amazed at his performance. He was offered a contract as an Opera singer with Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but did no take it as he prefers to do all types of music and as you react more you will see his greatness even more so.
@@p.f.5718I shared Dimash with loved ones, too.... they are supposed to be much more vocally trained in music than I. I played violin, some piano. Dimash can vibrate my soul just like my violin did. (It was stolen and never could replace its quality or 'voice'). I thought they would feel his music, but no! They are annoyed at my listening daily, but I do it because it is healing and I feel that resonate deep... yes, I would call it therapeutic and I do have training in that. My first experience was Opera 2, the Singer, China. It made me happy for you, reading your journey.

I have to admit at this point that I usually listen to other genres of music. I grew up in the 80s and have listened to a lot of rock, some metal and 80s pop since then. Dimash has managed to kick me in the butt, mainly with this song, in such a sustainable and at the same time charming way that I was catapulted out of my previous music consumption bubble. Dimash has taught me to listen to music in a new way. He makes me love things that I don't normally like. Of course, this is mainly due to his voice, which captivates me over and over again.

That's how it all started: In 2017 Dimash received a wildcard for the “The Singer” competition in China. He was the youngest participant ever (22 years old). Foreign participants were actually forbidden at that time. The director ignored the ban, believing Dimash would only stay 1 or 2 episodes and then go home.
The competition is not a talent show. Only professional, award-winning singers participate. Nobody knew or heard Dimash before and he had to start first ... and after his first song "SOS" Dimash captured the hearts of over 600 million viewers and a mega-star was born overnight. The next day bodyguards were at his door and now he is a superstar but without airs... just our Dimash.
The competition consisted of 14 rounds over 4 months. The jury consisted of 500 spectators who knew music, not just your average "Joe". They were well screened to be sure they would be able to judge the musicians fairly and competently. With up to 1 billion people watching this TV program and international interest was aroused. The performances were uploaded to RUclips ... and so we became Dimash's Dears.
The Chinese organizers planned... but Dimash came, sang and stayed ... for the next 3 years in China ... but he only finished second in the competition because he is not Chinese (conditions have changed: 2018, Jessie J. Won).

He sang this song as a guest at the Slavic Bazaar in Belarus 2018. It’s an International Festival of Arts and a contest for young singers, which he won in 2015.
SOS is a song in the rock-opera „Starmania“ from 1978. The first who presented this song was the French singer and songwriter Daniel Balavione.
SOS was the first performance of the China competition (in 2017) and was his first appearance in this show. The Singer is a show in China where only established singers are invited to perform. All the singers invited to this show are already well-known artists in China who have already won awards. Dimash was invited as the first foreigner as a wild card and the youngest in the history of this show. They became aware of him because he had already won some important competitions in Kazakhstan and Belarus, among others. He was still completely unknown in China. Actually, it was intended that he would only have 1 or 2 appearances. But it came completely different. When he woke up the next morning after his first performance of SOS he was a megastar in China and even found bodyguards outside his hotel room. SOS’ first video had 600 million views when it aired. Here he sings in a competition for young musicians, called New Wave in Sochi, Russia. He was there in 2018 as a guest.
The gentleman at the end you see standing and clapping is the famous Russian/Ukrainian composer, producer and songwriter Igor Krutoy. His and Dimash's collaboration created true masterpieces. He writes songs that only Dimash could sing with his vocal range, such as Olimpico, Stranger or Ave Maria. You’ll often see him accompanying Dimash on the piano. The two have no contract. Their cooperation is based more on mutual trust. It’s more like a father/son relationship.
If possible, always watch the videos from start to finish. Very often there are interesting things to learn. Either there’s something to laugh about, or he’s talking to his audience. He always thanks his musicians. He is incredibly humble and never acts like a star. When he is praised, he constantly says that it is thanks to his teachers and his parents, who made it all possible for him. He’s just incredible.

“SOS d'un terrien en détresse” tells of an earthly being that is in distress and asking for help because he never felt well in his own skin, he better wants to be a bird to see the world in case it could be more beautiful when seen from above. Luc Plamondon wrote the lyrics of SOS about a very distraught young man who just lost his lover causing him extreme questioning of his own existence. Finally being by her lifeless body, he is able to let her go “in peace“ with the words ‘sleep, my child, sleep’. It is a part of an french Rock-Pop opera released in 1979: Starmania. One of the 5 most difficult songs in French language. It was recorded by Daniel Balavoine in 1979 or so and Grégory Lemarchal won of the French reality singing competition Star Academy 2004 with this song.

This piece was from a French rock opera. And it is emotional. It starts out "Why do I live, why do I die. I am a human in distress SOS". It's about a person questioning his existence in life & how he wishes he had a better view of the world. What I like about Dimash's choices in the music he sings is, it has to convey a message. And he feels the music he sings. His music videos are like mini movies. One Sky is a masterpiece in videography, messaging to music. I believe it's 15min long. His most recent one is "When I've Got You" is more a tribute to Michael Jackson & a nod to some of the horror genres of the '80s & '90s. Dimash is a big fan of MJ. The next one I enjoyed listening to was "Olympico". Fabulous.

This song is from a 1970's rock opera called Starmania. Nobody has sung it like Dimash & i understand your emotions when listening, as Dimash is masterful at conveying emotion in his performances. I dont know any Dear who hasn't shed a tear when he sings. He really is a once-in-a-lifetime artist & we are lucky it's during our lifetimes.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience with your first video. Dimash's fans are not your typical "groupies". We are at millions strong (someone help on this because I don't remember the last count) and range in age from Teenagers to women in their mid 90's. Dears travel from one country to another to make sure his seats are always sold out at his concerts. Another thing is that he is a very humble and graceful young man and is recognized by everyone from the Pope (who Dimash has met with and sat down to talk to) to Presidents, to other world leaders. With all of these things in mind. Dears are VERY protective of Dimash and his honor, so you must always be mindful of that.
A live would be fun, maybe you could check a couple more songs + part one of "The Ultimate Dimash Guide" by LiLaSi(it's only about 10 minutes)

I have enjoyed more than 25 videos of different performances of Dimash singing this song always live. I would NOT want to start a debate, but it is natural that all Dears tend to compare any version of "SOS de un terrien en détresse" with Dimash. That's inevitable, this song is the one that opened the doors to Dimash's magical world to the majority of his hard-core followers, his Dears. It goes without saying that no matter how good, emotional o perfectly well french pronuncited the previous or subsequent versions are since its premiere at Starmania (above all the versions by Daniel Belavione and Gregory Lemarchal), the song acquired a much superior connotation in Dimash's style and unique voice. This song belongs to Dimash, no matter how many people sing it, no one can take it away from him. When Michel Berger and Luc Plamondon composed it, they did not imagine that 18 years later its true owner would be born in Kazakhstan.

If you are watching the video from his channel, most of his songs have translations. So you can just turn on the CCs for English. Some of the earlier ones, like this one, has the translation for the song only, but not the before and after. This song is from the 70's from the French/Canadian rock opera Starmania.

Greetings from Finland. I started my Dimash journey with the 2017 The Singer competition performances. I love the ones with some backround stories ( so if you go thru them, choose the longest videos...) He was younger then, like he was in this S.O.S video you just reacted to, and I still enjoy those performances cause you can see the yang man having his break through in the international profeccional level. He was phenomenal back then and he is geting better and better as an remarkable artist. My personal favorites are Qaragym-ai/2020, Ikanaide 2021, Adagio 2017 and Armeninian song I'll Die for the Wind of the Mountains... Yes, I love his ability to live through the motions when singing❤. Looking forward to see your reactions and getting to know your taste of music better

There is a lot to Dimash. A super emotive singer in any genre and a really decent human being at the same time. Doesn’t hurt that he has the voice and appearance of an angel, but a peaceful and caring person too. Glad you “got it” this time.
